yes, awesome!!!
by fantasy metal do you mean bands like rhapsody, avantasia, and alike?
I'm a big fan of power metal so this sounds extremely interesting to me, are you planning to start a project or something? if so I'd love to be part of it, or help with anything!!
as a matter of fact I've always wanted to do something like this but I have never managed to get it done, but i really think it would sound awesome
Shades tbh i can't see the 2 genres fitting together, fantasy metal & hardstyle/gabber maybe
but with uk hardcore i can't imagine it... at all....
MAtRiCks I really like Power Metal's epic and energetic sounds, especially from the band Sonata Arctica. Nightwish had some pretty powerful tracks on Wishmaster too. I'm sure Hardcore remixes of such powerful music could be good, but I never heard of any. Some of the tracks by Vagabond/Dreadhed/Euphoria on Next Generation & Blatant Beats like music holocaust, axis mundi & such really reminded me of power metal vibes.

On the other hand, I know of two very good remixes of Japanese power-rock/metal tracks in Eurobeat, with extremely fast-paced and energetic sounds, not too far from Hardcore, yet not quite as hard. Both tracks are from the 'Super Anime Remix presents: Touge' Album, which came out in fall 2008.

Still, I upload them for you guys to hear: http://www.mediafire.com/?zqwttczzzmx
Samination I think it would better the other way around

I think it can work in any way:

1. hardcore remixes of power metal
2. power metal remixes of hardcore
3. a new genre it self blending harcore and power metal - power-core??? hard-wer?

MAtRiCks **I edited my first post with a working link**
superstar allstar Nightwish is the shit, particularity Wishmaster.

Yeah, I have been working on a fusion project for fun and I was curious if there was any demand at all for this sort of thing. I live in a world where zero people I know have heard of hardcore and maybe 3 people I know have heard of adventure metal. Any help offered is welcome.

I think it will take awhile to yield anything really worth sharing, but it is kind of a blast to play with, in a guilty-pleasure sort of way. The fantasy metal chord changes and key changes are really annoying to figure out, but on the plus-side, it's not to hard to find 200bpm tracks to work with.

Thanks for uploading the weird japanese/anime/tecno/metal track. I don't think it is anything like what I would go for, but I am glad for having heard something so odd.
atomsk i would like to hear a hardcore track with some grindcore/sreamo vox in it
idk how it would sound but i think it might be cool

hahaha, it's a pleasure! Everybody is wtf'ed out by Eurobeat at first, but some people like me just remain hooked on hit for years, just like Hardcore. For some people it's also love/hate on first listen.
catjam whats fantasy metal ?
MAtRiCks I think Fantasy Metal is a synonymous to Power Metal? I had never heard of 'adventure metal' mentionned by superstar allstar, but i'm guessing it's another synonym?

I could try to explain, but it would be incomplete and biased. Wikipedia shall do a better job!

I did not find Fantasy Metal on Wikipedia, although I did find a full entry on Power Metal:

I understand for "fantasy metal" some sort of subgenre of power metal, which most important characteristic is in the themes of the lyrics, most of the times are about fantasy stuff, like knights, dragons, epic batltes, swords, leyends, etc. and some times sci-fi stuff.

*a swedish group called Lilla Syster (little sister) made a cover of Rihanna's Umbrella, it rocks!
superstar allstar >For some people it's [fantasy metal] also love/hate on first listen.
I think your totally right. But I think the same can be said about happycore, which has always inspired a surprising and unusually strong reactionary hate in some people (in my experience). I think it has something to do with there inherent complete lack of irony. Who knows?

Fantasy Metal, aka Adventure Metal is a sub-genre of power metal. It has fantasy themes like dragons and wizards to it's lyrics and sometimes mixes orchestral arrangements, harpsicords, flutes or other medieval or viking motifs to it's music. Nightwish, Dragonforce and Hammerfall are some examples.
Samination supstar: I dont know who made that "genre" but that would mean Rhapsody (of Fire) would be 'Adventure Metal'. They prefer to call themself "Filmscore" Metal.

It's the listeners that propably dubded it Adventure or Fantasy Metal, just like listerners dubed Happy Hardcore for Happycore (what I know not alot of artists liked that)
superstar allstar It's all semantic. I, personally, am not really one to get into genre discussions as a rule. I was just defining how I was using it. And the people in my loose circle all call Rhapsody 'adventure metal', if Rhapsody likes it or not, they can't stop us.
haiduk Black/death metal inspired by the fantasy genre!
