Almond Basically, I waited 2 years for Bonkers 8, saw it in HMV one day and snapped it up. I was disappointed. Bought 9 on its release, it's a slight improvement over Rezurrection, but I just don't think the quantity of quality tunes is there - as on Bonkers 2, 3, 4, 5 and maybe even 7. I prefer every album 1-7 than the new ones, I'm just not feeling the new tunes as much.

So my question is:

Bonkers 1-7 Vs Bonkers 8-9?

1-7 hands down for me. Anyone of the same opinion? If so, why? If not, why? Prefer the new ones or think old is as good as new...?

'As the blue skies turn to grey, hope our lives don't do the same.'
Xenochrome Woo hoo!!!
another Bonkers thread=another chance for a meaningless post!!!

I prefer the older ones. Particularly Hixxy's mix on 2.

TweekiN LoL dude
but in all seriousness i agree
bonkers cds compilations are goin Down hill

The FORCE is strong with this one

Go hard or GO HOME!!
Simon Definatly the Older Bonkers. :-)
whispering Any1 want sell Bonkers 1 or 2, i could pay 20 pounds...

tommo The new bonkers arent even hhc anymore.Although I like a lotta the new stuff
djs are spinnin, they dont quite have the same feel as the old bonkers.
Hixxys mixes on bonkers 3+5 are legendery.

The old.But the new stuff (bonkers8+9)isnt that bad.
Its better than anything you'll ever see on mtv anyway.

Im just a bassline addict
Im just a hardcore addict
Im just a dancefloor manic
Why o why cant you just accept it.
James D you cant really compare the two.

the style of hardcore is very different now than when the others were made.

but i often go back and play the 'older' bonkers, so theyve stood the test of time (altho it only 5 yrs),
maybe the newer ones will do the same?

i wouldnt say bonkers is goin downhill, just evolving with the style at the time.

Dave Murray defineltly the old bonkers they were bangin!

(/Dance Mothe®Fu©ke® On 2Tu®ntables/)
mr bishi yeah im missin bonkers 1 n 4 but the early mixes are far better n i really miss hixxys scratchin

Im not a gynecologist, but ill have a good look at it for you!!
hardcorelover its different styles of hardcore so its hard to compare

nu bonkers wins IMO

**** TRANCE
Dave Murray The early Bonkers is much better than than the Bonkers now, but hopefully it goes BACK UP HILL lol

(/Dance Mothe®Fu©ke® On 2Tu®ntables/)
godisadj Old bonkers wins by along way. After bonkers 6 it's like a speeded up trance cd. Still like them but they don't have the same effect as the first ones.

I looked through various Bonkers topics and didn't see one that specifically compared old Vs new. If you think it's a meaningless post you shouldn't reply. But as you had a comment to make your reply was useful!...

I agree with what some people are saying about the older and newer stuff being different styles, think that's what I was trying to say, I prefer the older style of Bonkers. I hope they go back to it, though I do understand the need to evolve...

Hey dude, I realise it was a joke, I was sort of trying to redeem it there by saying your comment was useful. Anyway I've figured how to do this now, so

"I'm invincible when I'm with you, there's nothing that you want that I can't do"
DJ Mouse they're all good
bonkers 2's the best
7's the worst

DJ Mouse
DJ Affliction Personally,I listen to all hardcore but I have to say that Bonkers 8 & 9 were a bit poor in standards compared to 1-7. Still liked em though

All the major DJ's have let it slip recently some of the tunes by Brisk & Ham & Sy & Unknown have been utter garbage!!!!

I think they should bring back the happy hardcore with piano's in!!!!

What does every1 else think???

DJ Affliction
Emanation U can't really compare the 2, considerin there's 7 ov the old, 2 ov the new n completely different styles.
But why compare.
Bonkers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 n 9 - Hardcore class!
Then i suppose everything hardcore is prity f****n wicked, even porn, haha!

"Where's all the noise, all the girlz, all the boyz"
tommo I can uderstand why some people dont like the new trancey stuff. Its
totally different from the older stuff.I think this is the new direction for
hardcore,of course some aren't gonna like it.And Im sure a lot of people
who've been into it since the early old skool days aint gonna be too
partial to it.
Hardcore is evolving. And I love some of the new stuff like"Synthetic Dreams","You're shining","Feel it in the air","Do Not Attempt"...etc.
I suppose things can't stay the same forever,eh.

Yea,know what you're sayin mate.I like both but I'd definately choose the old
style if I had to choose between em.
It would be better if we had both.

But on the bright side, its something new and interesting.

Dave Murray I think they should start bringing back the old style Bonkers!

(/Dance Mothe®Fu©ke® On 2Tu®ntables/)
DJ Mouse but in saying that, its like comparing some of the dance of today to tunes like gypsy woman, rhythm is a dancer and good life. the old stuff wins hands down and we have to accept it isn't gonna revive either. they're all classics just like all the old happy hardcore is now.

DJ Mouse
DJ Affliction I think they should bring back the old stuff to.

but that stuff woz wen all the major DJ's were just startin out. but now they've all peaked & started to do other things wiv their music

now it's up 2 the next generation of young DJ/Hardcore producers to bring it back to wot it woz.

I do agree with you though tommo mate it will be excitin to see what directio hardcore takes next

Harcore u know the score

DJ Affliction

A want to see how many a can get

Hardcore u know the score!!!!!!!!!!

DJ Affliction
sargatanas2k3 I can see the Diffrence beetween the old and the new stuff but i love both, as long as it sounds good, but most of it does, apart from this drum and bass shit, that stuff sucks, not hard enpugh for my liking, The newer stuff isnt as diffrent from the old stuff as you all make it out to be.
