To me since Hardstyle has introduced those massive Dutch Hardcore & Gabber type kicks in the past few years and gotten a bit faster. It has seemed to have knocked almost every Hard edged rave scene genre out of the ballpark.
I used to hate the genre when it sounded like Hard Trance. But now days I can relate to it the same way I used to relate to 90s Happy Hardcore & Hardcore.
Not only that, I prefer the crowd and the image of Hardstyle. Happy Hardcore has pushed a lot of it's original fans away when all the candy and Japanese animation influences took over. Nobody takes it seriously.
The crowd looks like some kind of freakshow in places like Australia and North America. Dressed like animation characters and cyberfools.
The production of Hardstyle in second to none at the moment. To me UK Hardcore can learn a lot from the success of Hardstyle. Maybe start by Hardening those kicks and ditch the candy.
Intents Festival is a perfect example of what I am talking about. Fit girls and everyone in summer and streetwear instead of the candy freaks you see at a lot of the Happy Hardcore parties these days.

"Ah, I see that you like Hardstyle? The music must be good right?"
"Nah, I'm in it for the fit girls man"
Also, not all of that is Hardstyle (Especially the Destructive Tendencies bit right in the middle, playing Tears of Fury - No Control, which I need to go and buy now)

I don't even have the will or passion to argue against this anymore lol.
It's def a better sound than the electrocore or dubstep influences.
UK hardcore is dead. There is more early hhc being produced these days than actual uk hardcore.
Your fashion sense and lack of love for wacky aspects suck though :p

When exactly did anyone take Hardcore seriously?

Yeah is gabber at the end. But I just think UK Hardcore can learn a lot from.the way the Netherlands is doing things with their sound and scene.
Lets face it, guys dressed in Candy is not a good look. And pictures of animation characters on the front of a UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore mixes and events etc...just makes our scene look.."Gay".
The UK rave culture, crowd and sound was much more like what the Netherlands is now when you look at our scene back in the mid to late 90s.

Maybe find a new forum if you don't like current hardcore, instead of complaining about it.
Hardstyle sounds like garbage with those distorted kicks. So many good leads and melodies, but always with that digusting "BOONNGG BOONNNG" kick.
To be honest I don't like the current sound of hardcore, but I also put almost no time or energy into finding music anymore. Other than the odd album from HU I don't buy a whole lot, and I don't spend time on Soundcloud looking into new releases.
Triquatra
be nice, guys, don't frighten rafferty off or the forum will be down to 7 users! :P

I listen to Hard House and that stuff is rich in production!
But I see what you mean though, the events for Hardstyle look like they are serious with the set up.
Did anyone hear the latest Styles and Gammer tune shared here the other day? Just shocking!

I like that sound. It has evolved nicely throughout the years. :)

While we are on the subject of Hardstyle can anyone help e ID this tune at 1.00:00 from this Lisa Lash's set?

Got a lot of the hallmarks of an early warp brothers track or remix.

Thanks for the heads up!
Might be getting somewhere:

It feels a little...empty...though, so it could well be another producer just trying to recreate their sound.
But all the ones that spring to mind when I hear the song...
Norman Bass - How Do You Like Bass (Warp Brothers Remix)
Contact - We Gotta Connect (Warp Brothers Remix)
Double Figures - Hey DJ (Warp Brothers Remix)
Warp Brothers - We Will Survive
all have something in common!

UK Hardcore needs more big kickdrum tracks (I hate that term).
The last one of those I heard was Stick Em by Haywire on Brisk's Sunday Sesh last year. Don't know if its gonna get a release or not though.
Get away from the EDM sound
rafferty
Hardstyle is taking Hardcore where it used to be and is meant to be.. Hard kicks is what real Hardcore is.
Because their music productions and parties are showing us how it should be done.

EDM & Hardstyle is more the sound Hardcore should be heading. Trance is dead and burried man. Sounds weak and dated...

IS AMAZING COMPARING THE LEVEL OF PRODUCTION FROM HEADHUNTERZ COMPARED TO THE WARP BROTHERS. Warp Brothers are like a cheap old Nokia and Headhunterz are like the latest iphone lol

Hardcore doesn't need to emulate anything, leave it be and go another forum.

Repeating the same sentence over and over doesn't make it any more true
(Yes I know I've said that before, just repeating it)
Captain Triceps
And more like hard house in what way, exactly?

you should all just give up crying and just with proper hardcore like the rest of the country
mixing is all about smoking weed out of your bedroom window on the sligh when your a teen, proper hardcore goes with the flow and you can do whatever you like, if you learn to fix up some tracks with TENQ vst, masters of hardcore label tracks are all shittie with no bass and alot of high's like the middle track in the video
if you don't fix the bass levels and high 20khz, the cue button won't work, only italians have understood all the ******** I have posted over the years when it comes to engineering
so it goes from
to
you have to normalize all the tracks to -12db RMS, the soundcard in pioneers suck, if you don't your mixes will be paris hilton skills when EQ'ing the bass
Icewind
Trance isn't dead...and hardstyle is alright but it's a little slow. The fashion in those videos is boring and plain with a bunch of bros fist pumping. The best part of hardcore is the wackiness...
Smoogie
My newest Hard House mix puts Hardcore to shame. Some right belters in here!
Check out the last track as well, Flash Power by Sam Townend & Ben Stevens. That tune is BIG!
