htid_4_life What ever happened to James Venus? Did he go on to produce under another alias or something, I always thought his tracks were really good so just wondering what happened? I was told he has an account with tracks on soundcloud under his real name but I cant find it
warped_candykid No to long ago, he posted a thread giving away all his tracks on file for free.
Captain Triceps He did, I grabbed a bunch. I always loved "Dancing Through the Night" and was over the moon to get the full proper version, rather than the album mix from the Slammin' Vinyl album.
Triquatra The vinyls versions on Absolute Hardcore were super distorted too, so I was very happy to get nice and clean versions.

He took them down, and disapeered again; Samination might have them on his website though? He usually puts up the legal downloads.
Samination If Im allowed to reopost them, I believe I do have them
htid_4_life hope the guys ok, giving away his tunes for free then disappearing isn't a great sign, the man had talent. That being said if they are online anywhere I would love a copy
Samination Ehm... He haven't produced a track that's gotten release for over 2 decades. Why would it look bad if he releases some for free? :P
htid_4_life mental health and all that. you never know. I have seen people get manic depression and give away things and then disappear for a bit and it read like that's what happened there.
SparkzMusic Here's what I know.

Vibes latched onto him and so on with his tracks.

James was studying engineering in Brighton. About 5 years ago I was in contact with him and after he finished his degree we were going to do a few bits of production together. I left FB at the time so no idea.

A while later all he gave all his tracks out and I think it was "sound of love" that was due to be a vocal track (loving you, is easy when you're beautiful.... or whatever the lyrics are). At that time he gave out that "original" as well.

He did used to do a load of tutorials on YT. I can't fully remember but it was engineering or something like that.... it was a long time ago though.

I really don't think it's MH stuff, but he's just busy and it is what it is. Taking them down is more likely due to a change of heart, perhaps just thinking giving them out for free isn't a good idea if he's possibly going to come back into the scene and work with someone.
htid_4_life hope it is because hes busy and doing well thanks for that. if they go on for sale in wav format I will buy
sterichie26 Has anyone got a DL link to these tunes James Venus gave away ? Sadly i missed the giveaway. If not could anyone knidly send me the full version of "Dancing Through The Night" ?

thanks muchly
Samination I do have it, but I've been trying to find the post here on happyhardcore.com were he gave away the link. If someone can find it for me, I'll see if something in the text mentions if it's was a timed giveaway or not

Here it is.

https://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=65880

He never said anything about a limited timeframe. He just posted them on Soundcloud and then deleted them one day for some reason.

EDIT: Halfway through the thread he says "Glad to be of service! Nice that the tracks are still being enjoyed :) Feel free to share them with anyone you know remembers them ;)"

And then the last replay where someone mentions "analog DAT rips" lol
Samination Well the audio on most are very muffled so. They were WAV or FLAC (what I got is FLAC) and some don't have higher freq than MP3 usually have.

Anyways, here they are:

GrahamC ^^ Thanks for these. Agree that the sound is a bit muffled but to my ear they don't sound any worse than the ones that appeared on Bonkers 6

This is turning into a great week for me for getting some old stuff!
htid_4_life thanks for these :)

Because the riff samples 'Mario World'.
Craig Cairney I always thought his tunes sounded terrible. Or, was that the general plan/idea?

In terms of sound quality or how good the tracks were?
The sound quality is far from amazing, to say the least, but I thought some of the tracks were superb.
Sulphurik Thanks for that Samination. Just heard a few of his older tracks which am a fan of so will have to check these out.
Sulphurik The Sound Of Love - tune!
