Impulse_Response I've been recording Raver Baby singles and other stuff I bought on discogs, and it got me wondering about surface noise during livesets. Is it much of a problem or do you not really notice? I'm thinking especially if you have old records that got banged around a lot and after putting your hands all over them to cue or scratch.

I'm guessing it's less of an issue with dance singles because they're cut at higher levels than albums but it's still audible especially during quiet sections.
DJ_FunDaBounce I personally have bought digital versions of stuff I have on vinyl because they sound clean and brighter. Crackles and pops, back in the days of vinyl, were simply the norm. If the record was too worn out from being played out though, it was either time to replace or move on.
