i know a few ppl at my age that still love the hardcore stuff - i have had a few ppl say tae me god you still like that stuff - but i dont judge ppl on their taste in music - ok fine if they liked the hardcore stuff about 7 years ago and now not - thats up tae them - but me - still as mad about hardcore as i was all those years ago, on some message boards ive seen messages slantng ppl because of their age *ie*ooooooh you dont know what hardcore is your a teenager you should have been their in those days of hardcore. that really pisses me off ya know - if not about age etc on when you got into hardcore & happy hardcore - weeee are the ppl that matter we are hardcore you know - and it great that more and more ppl are getting into it - keeping the hardcore alive - and i saute all on this forum also -

22, I cant dance as fast and as hard as used to I must addmit, I would probably say 15/16 is about the best age to descover hhc, thats when I did and since then ive been hooked. Theres just something about hardcore back then, as if it was a good background soundtrack to your antics, if you catch what I mean, anyway its still good to ride around with the windows down and the toons up, others looking across at the traffic lights as if to say what the f***s he listening too? haha!

Attented my first proppa "rave" at about 16 years of age..... EFFING LOVED IT!!
Used to think Hixxy was the cream of the crop.... a few years passed and his mixing went all crazy.... we assumed he started drinking heavier than usual. *lol*
Lost touch with the Hardcore scene around about the time when Trance-core was coming in... Freeformers'n'all that - i've actually got a freebie CD from the Freeformers that was a cover CD for a music mag when they first come out into the public properly.
I didn't lose touch with the scene because of Trance-Core or anything... but simply due to realising that the mates I was hangin with at the time were a bunch of proppa losers! Went off, dropped everything... stopped programming, stopped raving, stopped making music..... got a girlfriend.... let her get her hooks into me... still with her, and I want to get the things back that REALLY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE ME!!!

Its never too late man, I started listening to happyhardcore when I was 16, but that was before I even got into the rave scene. I saw the anabolic frolics happy2Bhardcore disc 2 in the store and was looking for some techno music. I had no Idea exactly what it was. I knew that I liked it alot.
I got into the rave scene when I was 17 and I am almost 21 now and I will be partying till I cant move.

I got into this kind of music when I was thirteen. Can someone please tell me the exact definition of Happy Hardcore?

i think the beauty of hardcore is that there is no certain way to define it. It's all sorts of things. There's melodies and vocals and it's just beautiful. Probably most of the reason for that is because it isn't commercialized as must as, say, house. You've got things coming Next Gen to KFA to SSU to Raver Baby and they are all happy hardcore but they are all soo completely different sounding. To put constraints and definitions on something makes a limit, and hardcore has no bounds ;)

I'm 18, 19 on July 18, and I've been raving and listening to hardcore since last April. Before that I was a prog trance/house faithful, and I still like it but I like all forms of hardcore over it. I got my decks in October but since I was mostly too lazy to set them up in my dorm room I've only really been spinning since December. I haven't raved in months so I'm really looking forward to Sharkey & Energy being in town for Smile 8.

Wow, I'm surprised a lot of people here are so young. It's cool though, hhc appeals to older and younger crowds. I guess I'm like in the middle. I'll be 20 in June. 20, 21 in June ... got into hardcore round '96, went to my first rave about the same time - mad experience that was. bunk 'rugs, dirty venue and it got shut down just after midnite. Went to my second around mid-late '00, going regular since then. Sorta kept track of the music all that time though

I'm 19 and love happyhardcore, especially hixxy and dougal's mixes. I guess I've been listening to hhc since '95 or '96, doesn't feel like it's been nearly 7 years. I first got into this music in my school where everybody was really close so we all listened to the same music. Our favourites were Ultra Sonic, Mr Thomp & Scooter but Bonkers was and still is the daddy!

Progressing further into time I seem to recall... ah yes the development of mankind into communities rather then their nomatic tribes. That was truely the start of a new era.
Farther yet I vividly can imagine what I was doing around the time frame of the dark ages, a nasty sight. Unfortunetly for those living within that time frame and area, not exactly a bowl of cherries. And ah yes of course I can recall my primeful youthing age within the 90's up until current time. Hardcore had been born and was alive, it seemed for a while though it may have to end with no where to go bounded by burden of progressing and growing, until now.
Now is the time, our hardcore progresses, witness the meaningful sight of millions around the globe unite.

I'm 16 now (October 8) and started listening to hhc when I was about 9 or 10 when my m8s brother was playin it loudly in his bedroom and when he wasn't in we used to steal them out of his room and play them in her room, he was about 12 maybe 13 and me + my m8s now listen to it with him!

at first i thot it was just noize but how ƒuckin'g wrong was i.
went tae a local rave when i was 13 n since then i have been goi tae unders 18 clubs all over glasgow,edinburgh,motherwell and around those areas.

Damn.... Im older :> Even though I dont put a emphasis on age. As long as you get along with someone and have things that are in common its all good. (hence taking a 35 year old to her first party of recent and hanging out with mates that are young as well).
Im 26. I officially started to listen to HHC at oh 26. Heh. Or at least paying attention to it of recent. Been listening for only a couple months now and Im only up to maybe 50 records. I started going out dancing in sixth grade due to the fact I lived in Mexico at the time and the law states as long as you can go up to the bar with some cash you can get served. Did the whole party thing in Chicago for the longest time so that was mostly house (what we called booty house and others call "Chicago"), techno, and other stuff mixed in. I fell out of it all for a while and then got back into it (ok ill admit to listening to someones prog house set and being like "this isnt house... house is harder and more repetive and they talk about shaking that thang and booties and stuff"). I listen to all music except for Christian and New Age Yanni type b.s.. Im hoping to break away from my real job and do the whole DJ/producer thing at some point hopefully before Im considered too old and a geezer. :>

Quick question: Are there no age restrictions in places other than the US? I always hear ppls say "I been partying since I was 8", but there's no way they'd let you into a party where I am unless you look at least 16-18 or have your parents with you... that'd be fun huh? :D

hi! i'm a 22 years old gabber from hungary... i got fanatic when i was 15. but the scene is too weak at here to reach the small villages, only at budapest are a small branch of gabbers, so i was already 20 when i saw the first hardcore party with my own eyes...
but since then, i'm more fanatic than ever, and i'm very happy to see what's going on out there, at here the happy hc died a few years ago... i hope your strength is strong enough, to resurrect the happy hc in europe too...
