Triquatra hey guys, look what i found!

found it here!!!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BONKERS-ORIGINAL-HARDCORE-3-X-CD-ALBUM-NEW-MINT_W0QQitemZ290311579776QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CDsDVDs_CDs_CDs_GL?hash=item290311579776&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1687%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting

you can imagine my face when i was browsing the ebay pages for hardcore...and came across that lol!

just in case it disapears here are the details given:

"Release Date : 11-May-2009
( U.M.T.V. )-( U.M.T.V )
Overview
Bonkers – The Original Hardcore is the new 3CD hardcore album from AATW / UMTV.

Bonkers – the newly acquired hardcore brand by AATW and UMTV is a hardcore institution – previously reaching it’s 17th album before this new TV advertised album which is set to take the charts

Hardcore is flying – this is seen by the recent success of Scooter, Darren Styles and Ultrabeat not forgetting the other hardcore compilation albums currently on the scene including Hardcore Til I Die & Clubland Xtreme Hardcore 4. We have seen tremendous success in the Hardcore scene and Bonkers will replicate this. The track listing will feature acts such as Scooter, Styles & Breeze, Dougal & Gammer, Flip & Fill, Darren Styles, Hixxy and LMC.

The difference between this and other Hardcore albums is that this is Bonkers! Bonkers is a widely recognised brand with a huge loyal following and this TV album will take that brand to the next level. The new Bonkers album will be the first of its kind establishing on TV the Bonkers brand and setting up the series for more instalments.

The album features the old identity of the Bonkers brand – retaining the original (but now super-rendered) logo and the original DJs as they are the biggest names in the Hardccore scene today – Hixxy, Sharkey and Unknown but incorporates new elements with the bright sleeve and brand new track listing featuring the biggest names around.

The album will be supported by a heavy TV marketing campaign, support across all the terrestrial channels and Sky – will also be running a Bauer promotion featuring the album on channels such as 4music & Smash Hits – we will also have the full support of Clubland TV- week one spend will be 60K+. We will also be running massive online campaigns across all the UMG, AATW & Clubland sites – also specifically targeting sites such as Hardcore Til I Die and Don’t Stay In.

This album will be released on the 11th May.

BONKERS – THE NEXT GENERATION!"

**edit**
took away annoying caps :)
Audio Warfare That's not bad at all really. Quite happy with that. :)

Really not happy they have started the series from 1 again though!
SPOOX Not bad. Would look much better with the cartoons though. Can't believe they started again. Can't see this lasting as long as the original Bonkers either.
whispering 10 points for originality, there already is a CD serie called Original Hardcore
SPOOX "Hardcore is flying – this is seen by the recent success of Scooter, Darren Styles and Ultrabeat"

Yeah these are my top 3 aren't they

"The track listing will feature acts such as Scooter, Styles & Breeze, Dougal & Gammer, Flip & Fill, Darren Styles, Hixxy and LMC".

Well that looks exciting lol.

Hmm only just read the press release. Not looking so good! Sounds like the Unknown and Hixxy disks could be rubbish.
djDMS Nice artwork.

The overview just about sums up everything that's wrong with Hardcore these days.
Meathead Hmm the artwork doesnt look too bad. Bit cheesy Eurodance i thought but ok i guess.

That blurb makes for grim reading though, what's the original source of that nugget of information? Hopefully its some ebay hoaxter trying to have a laugh.

Nice find anyway mate, must have been a right bloody shock lol

Well, we all knew this would happen, didn't we? Yet another Clubland. I am looking forward to the Scooter track though. Thank god for Hardcore Underground 3, might very well be the new Bonkers since AATW has clublanded it.

It was until AATW bought it.

Since when was Unknown one of the original DJs?
Triquatra my favorite part was where it says

"the difference between this and other albums...is......is....is that..its bonkers!!!!"

like they couldnt find anything else to set it apart from the rest of the commerical rubbish been released in the last 5 years :P
kathryn It wont be the same without Scot Browns mix

Seems like its the info their giving to stores (hence the heavy use of "TV Advertised", which usually means that stores should get it in stock in large quantities).

Touche.
this-is-bonkers i think i over rected on facebook rowan, its kinda growing on me...i miss the cartoons though :(
Triquatra hehe, its not that bad at all, im glad they kept the logo....i think

it does ooooze commercialism though especially how that press release is written focusing on AATW artists lol (of course)

i say again though, that whole thing that it says about
"The difference between this and other Hardcore albums is that this is Bonkers!"

because that really wasnt the case, it was all to do with the music on the albums...but yeah, unless this has a bonkers-esq tracklist...then the only thing making it different from clubland xhardcore...and 90% of the other releases from the last few years will be the fact it is called "bonkers"

i wonder if sharkey will be MCing over the TV ads, like he has in the last 9 albums...
Starstruck cartoons would look even better on it too.
but thats a damn well produced cover!
Triquatra yeah it does look good, though it would have been nice to have the cartoons on it somehow...or some new form of cartoon... could have made some crazy cgi stuffs...somthing to fit in with that cover - perhaps the advert will include some? im sure we will find out very soon
Starstruck i'm itching to see the tracklisting!
Quicksilver I must say, though, that I'm surprised AATW didn't put a half-naked lady on the cover.
Triquatra wait till you see the tv commercial ;)

*Waves bye bye to the Bonkers we once knew & loved*

All good things must come to an end I suppose & bonkers has official had its day.

Flip & Fill!? I mean. wtf? are they even still goin & if they are, they certainly ain't hardcore!

no doubt Sharkey will line up a blinder but the question is, is it worth paying for the full album just for one CD?

*crawls back into bed & cries himself to sleep*
Quicksilver Watch out for Sharkey's freeform mix of Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Kevin Energy's Purist Mix of Katy Perry - "I Kissed A Girl".......

Just so you know.... I called it first!

:P

That's a fu*king shambles.

Scooter, Ultrabeat = Hardcore? sums AATW up completely. A shower of pig ignorant wanks that know jack shit about Hardcore.

That aside, that is also a shocking press release. Sorry to sound snooty, but the grammar is appalling. Whoever wrote that needs to take a look at themselves. Also; what, exactly, is "hardccore". Muppets.

warped_candykid I am ok with the album cover, bright and colorful, what I hate is:

Hardcore is flying – this is seen by the recent success of Scooter, Darren Styles and Ultrabeat not forgetting the other hardcore compilation albums currently on the scene including Hardcore Til I Die & Clubland Xtreme Hardcore 4. I think it should have been that HTID & CXH rode off the success of the Bonkers series, not the other way around!
näkkk We're getting faster! Harder! Scooter!

How much is the fish!
acidfluxxbass i quite like it :)

new modern feel to it. but i'd like it to have 18 on there but i think it'd be a bit gay for me to complain at this point.
Triquatra scooter have done hardcore in the past.... back in 1996 (remember "back in the UK")

what they are refering to is remixes though, probably a darren styles remix of a new scooter track
protonic I love the artwork

Coz that's the way to keep the scene alive.

You aint heard anything yet and you've already judged it.

Some people are wanks.
Yateszi I don't like the looks of this.

I honestly think the cover art is good, but it doesn't suit Bonkers imo.

Why did they mention Scooter and Ultrabeat?? Sorry but their not hardcore and it's going to make everyone think their tracks are now "hardcore". Hopefully people like Gammer will put some awesome stuff on so people who may never have heard of Bonkers before can see the true meaning of it.

Looking forward to seeing the Ad on TV.
Samination yea, this utter fail.

Do you think Sharkey's gotten free hands on what to mix to this? prop is just going to be loads of tracks from him 2nd Artist album propably (for promotional purpose).

And what Happened to Scott Brown? Did he do the right thing and say no to AAtW, or did he want in but didnt get asked?
tru bass I like the artwork, i dont like the write up..

but we will have to see about the album!
acidfluxxbass i like that they preserved the logo.

i dont like the lack of 18 or lack of cartoons.

they are about to overwrite the entire history of bonkers thus far.

14 years of constant bonkers gold will be gone in a flash of flashy new bonkers.. how could they do this? :(
Triquatra again, scooter DID do hardcore back in 1996 :P

Just hope this is good with new tracks, not just more refreshed tracks.
Triquatra lol, either way you knew what i meant, at one point they did :P
GrahamC I am rushing out to buy this.

gonna shine it up real good, turn it sideways & shove it up hixxy's arse!
iano Sad... **** it though. Got the hardcore underground series! I shit bricks when I read about tracks from flip n fill etc... were going to feature. Can no longer say Bonkers is my fave album of all time :( Now ballbags will think I mean this album. Why does it say the orginal hardcore? Whats orginal about it? When in the name of good **** was Unknown one of the orginal DJ's unless in my long long days of being a avid UK/Happy Hardcore listener I have missed something. Whats with the ****ing splashed yellow paint? Why is there nearly always a form of splashed ****ing paint on albums owned by AATW? Why the minge does it say "The next Chapter" It condradicts itself, its like saying its the sequel but the prequel at the same time... Idiots.
whispering As much as it does look like shit, i must say Flip'n'Fill tunes have been in Bonkers before, even back when i thought the album serie was good (B9). Scooter has done HHC and their tunes have been on "UK Hardcore" CD's before (Hardcore, The Ultimate Hardcore Album, Original Hardcore and Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 2 to name a few). The name dropping is obvious because their trying to sell the album to retailers. So i'm not gonna slam it down ...yet :P

Scooter haven't produced happy hardcore for over 13 years, their style has moved far away from that, and they were never considered hardcore legends now where they? Darren Styles has certainly done his bit for hardcore. Ultrabeat haven't really produced hardcore although we know Mike di Scala does but they did do their bit to promote tunes like "Pretty Green Eyes" and "Feelin' Fine" albeit using the commercial Clubland sound.

quote:

To be fair, look at Hixxy's mix of Bonkers 9, you had Flip N Fill, Kelly Llorenna, N-Trance etc. tracks so its not unusual to have remixes of tracks from commercial artists. But yeah I can't say I'm excited at the prospect of tracks featuring LMC or Flip & Fill. Am I right in saying that Hixxy is doing a mix featuring a mixture of tracks between 2000-2009? I bet thats where most of those commercial artists will be featured.

Indeed do those promoters have any idea what Bonkers is and have they heard the last 18 albums (including Best of Bonkers!)? They seem obsessed with getting this album promoted on TV and sadly it is likely the hardcore sound will be diluted or compromised.

One thing I cant understand about it is the name? 'The Original Hardcore'?

There's absolutely nothing original about it. When have AATW ever done anything original? Basically what EA is to computer games, AATW is to hardcore.

They're money hungry b**tards that buy out the competition then can't even do the job right themselves which, inturn, ruins it for everyone else.

Na its just a remix.. i guess it kinda is produced by Styles but it's still written by Scooter originally and thats why its a remix..

Anyway im kinda cut about the Scooter stuff.. why are all these remixes of popular dance artists popping up.. Wtf???

This is ALOT different to Rebooted which IMO was fine.. It was a great compilation with great tracks and wtf this is turning into Clubland no doubt..

This just makes me pissed off!
DeezeNuts I have a feeling that Hixxy's mix wont be that bad and that Unknown is going to have the majority of the commercial tracks.

All in all, this is not bad for their first try. Really eager to see what Sharkey has in store in the track listing.

The cover is pretty good, don't understand why most people don't like it regardless of the absence of the cartoons.
I really don't understand why they have to call it The Original Hardcore when on the cover they CLEARLY have a better album name, Bonkers - The Next Chapter.

Hopefully the next Bonkers CD will have another DJ or someone other than Unknown; Or maybe he won't be that bad.

I guess we'll have to wait for the entire track listing
glitzandglowz If theyre going to start a whole new series i reckon it should be called Bonkers II, and then have the numbers after that... eg:

Bonkers II
Bonkers II: 2
Bonkers II: 3
Bonkers II: 4

That way, they can keep the numeric thing going in an easy to understand, chronological format.

And if it sucks we can just dismiss it saying: "Oh i love Bonkers, but i hate Bonkers II".

...Am i right? ^_^

They're like the Wal-Mart of the electronic music scene!
And if Hirshi doesn't buy this b/c of Sharkey, then he must not be into freeform at all.

and it's too late to bitch bout the title what's done is done

i personally believe I won't be buying this, but I will wait until there are clips of the CD available to determine whether I buy this or not. I already expect it to have a lack of "mixing" just like the CXH series, so the only thing that will make me believe this is salvageable is some nice sounding tracks.

Well i thought it was a good idea, like a second season in a TV serie type of thing.
Triquatra mmm, i would have thought AATW would want brand presence though, if anything i would think they would want to make themselves look responsible for the other bonkers as well...to try and keep some of the following with them (hense they kept the logo, when they could have easily changed it)
Sulphurik The cover is not spectacular but I like the 3D Bonkers logo, at least they've kept it the same!

cd 2....ugh..just ugh

cd3...ya, was to be expected....though i dont dislike the tracklist for it, even though we've heard em all before :P

doesnt seem as diverse as the other bonkers as far as styles go...

cd2 - looks rubbish... why is pilgrim on there? thats very old and a few taken from CXH5 aswell..

Sharkey, I have lost faith in you :(

Watson. Yep, they've killed Bonkers good and proper.

I won't be buying this either. It's more or less a CLXH clone.
Leto Sharkey CD looks awesome, you guys should seriously calm down about the Scooter remixes. As for Unknown's, I'm sure it will be solid, a standard Quosh mix. But, the Hixxy mix is honestly just pathetic.

Pretty much my thoughts tbh. I'd pay the asking price for the Sharkey disk alone really. :P
MAtRiCks Unknown's discs looks great! It seems safe to say this is True Hardcore's replacement for Quosh's 2009 showcase, and i'm perfectly happy with that. Now my only concern is where are Essential platinum gonna showcase their new material, but that's another story.

Just from the titles, i'm not foreseeing a lot of cheesy stuff from Sharkey like on Bonkers 17 :( Oh well, i'm sure i'll enjoy it still. Freeform is always great driving material. ;)

Hixxy's disc is SUCH a disappointment! To make it worth it, I think he could have tried to mix a ridiculous amount of classic tracks in there, say at least 30, just so that you don't bother with the whole extended mix of every overheard anthem, but I guess he didn't feel too adventurous. It will probably end up just like the last disc on HTID2008, meaning I wont ever take it out of the box..

All in all i'm a bit dissapointed that only 2 cd's out of 3 seem worth it for me, but I'll still be buying this straight up for Sharkey & Unknown's discs.
Yateszi Hixxy's CD is just old tracks, I have heard every single one!!

As for the other two, atleast most of it's new tracks and remixes, but this time I think I'll save my money.
95_was_the_time looks like a bag o shite
Triquatra id rather hear over-played older anthems (hixxy's mix) than listen to the same old same old boring stuff they release these days (unknowns mix)

im sure sharkeys is gonna be a win :)
lozowen looks like theres a few clubland-esque remixes on there but all in all not too dissapointed with that tracklist

whittle1 Sharkey's looks excellent.
Unknown's looks average.
Hixxy's looks poor.

Fair assessment!

if i wanted to hear it ill listen to a cd ive already paid for to listen to it.

i was completely shocked that this was on hixxy's cd of all things, but i'm rather suspicious of what it iwll sound like considering none of the tracks on hixxy's mix have a (*** mix) next to it.

lol and yea the forcing of AATW artists is clearly there. those two scooter tracks are clearly out of place, and Sharkey putting them side by side is a funnyass way of saying F**k you to AATW

i'm not entirely upset about Hixxy's mix, but Unknowns is rather bland and looks like it will sound more CXH than any of hte other 3
CDJay The Darwin remix of "Let Me Be Your Fantasy" wasn't commisioned for this album, but AATW did manage to clear it after we faltered last second for inclusion on HU3.

It's had very good crowd responses when I've seen it played; people started climbing on stuff at Freeformation when Darwin played it for the first time

Props again to S3RL for inclusions, and nice to see CLSM getting some way towards his due for a change.

CDJay

Triquatra well, im glad you like it lol, had me worried there! ;)

this albums going to reach a stupid amount of kids - and if its going to, id rather it had quality tunages (like for instances"CLSM - the other side") than whats on CD2..

ahh its a major dissappointment.
the bonkometer has spoken lol

but its a shame that its going to be the of hardcore...

i wouldnt be surprised if when i play the scooter remix in reverse I'd hear sharkey slating AATW in his vicky pollard impression

or some sort of 'sharkey code' dissing AATW

that'd make my day :P
Fishy Haha wtf is this??! E-Type??? for real??? when did that becme hardcore XD and wtf Rodyn haha xD what is this doing on bonkers??
Triquatra lol

how can i argue with bonkometer!?!

and fishy...they will be hardcore remixes...just like 99% of hardcore albums across the past 20years, it has some hardcore remixes of non-hardcore songs on it :)

Ye i know, but then it usually says its a remix and who did the remix, or it has another name. this has the orignal titles
acidfluxxbass bonkometer put yellow cos i generally could believe that it was the famous robyn and not perhaps some unknown artist.

Scott Browns the master of saving his name. He steps back when things get a bit commercial & predictable then he come back with an explosion of new material which leaves the other artists flapping trying to copy his style

He'll be back with a bang soon & will path the way for the scene like he's done time & time again. The only person I could compare him with is Liam Howlett (The Prodigy) He does the exact same thing

Triquatra yeah but didnt prodigy do it the other way around?
electro got big...prodigy jumped on the bandwagon....

now the pendulum style/jump up/drum n bass gets big, their back again but on that wagon :P
Andy Digi All the tracks on Hixxy CD are new, didnt you know?....They are Forthcoming on Raver Baby In Demand....hahah....Sharkey and Unknowns cds dont seem so bad (what i expected)...but Hixxys cd is pushing Raver Baby too hard (which obviously doesnt have anything new coming out)...very disapointed!

OK. I will admit that some of the new album has that pendulum style DnB on there but IMO The Prodigy are showing them up. Also, they're still paying respects to their older stuff in the album with real original Prodigy sounds.

Apart from the past 2 albums The Prodigy are exactly what the name says. Without them bands like Pendulum wouldn't be what they are today IMO & what The Prodigy have done for the Dance scene as a whole is nothing short of outstanding!

Samination atleast E-type is closer to the hardcore/euro sound than Scooter is atm :P
Ken Masters also, i'm just wandering why they put Sharkey on CD1??

they better not be trying to turn sharkey into the next hixxy & have him selling out on every album. Sharkey isn't a CD1 type of DJ. I can't understand this?

I hope you're right. We need someone to come in and give Hardcore a boot up the backside.
Triquatra sounds to me like the tracklist isnt 100% accurate, i think they've left "remix" off some of them, and who knows what order the cds are comin in :) as with the rest of the bonkers releases...and with alot of others, tracklists have had to be corrected a few times before the release to iron out the creases

No, you got it right. He might be a hardcore maniac and idol but I can't stand his kind of music. The only tunes I loved was 'Even Angles Fade Away' and the ones where he teamed up with someone like 'Return to Toytown' and 'Let's Fly'.
I've bought 4 or 5 Bonkers compilations and the Sharkey mix was always an impertinence for my ears. That's why I stopped buyin' Bonkers.

Greetz
Hirschi

redwingz CD1 - Looks really good, great to see S3rl on there again! Not too concerned about the scooter tracks, cause no doubt the mix will have been immense upto that point and will be immense after it, so I cant see it bothering me to much.

CD2 - Chris Unknowns big chance to show the world what he can do without Sy.....and.....hes blown it! Tracks 1, 2, 7 and 12....OMG! Seriously Chris, Id have rather had a few quosh classics! His big chance to mix a Bonkers CD and he kicks it off with 'Take me to the clouds above'? Is that really what he has been waiting 15+ years to bang out there?

CD3 - Typically disappointing. Some very good tracks on there, but we have heard them all before. How many CDs has that 'R U Ready' been on now? Im sure this is number 4? Track 3, 10 and 16 were never good, but hey....they are raverbaby, get those royalites in. See you on the other side is immense, but I honestly cant even see myself listening to disc 3 for weeks after I buy the album, cause I know what to expect.

All I can say is.....Bonkers....from the 'real' hardcore point of view...is dieing on its arse. It wouldnt surprise me if AATW only do 1 more Bonkers after this, cause I doubt it will sell aswell as CXH.

After number 17, I thought we had turned a corner and were going back to real hardcore with bonkers, IMO, this is a step back.
danjel The Hixxy tracklist is maybe the worst tracklist ever! All tunes is old and has been around forever and everywhere!
Triquatra lol "even angels fade away" was one of his most boring, not enough melody in it imo...
acidfluxxbass when bonkers flops with AATW, i think we should all donate to buyingt he branding rights and have it as a 'happyhardcore.com presents bonkers 18' or something. inject what we like into it since we are the ones who will be (or should be) buying it
Triquatra i bet you, i wont flop, massive tv ad campaign, aatw mean machine behind this

it will be #1 in the uk compilation charts. i promise you, and i will post a picture of it in asda/walmart! at #1 right next to the MOS albums :P

I HATE HATE HAAATE that song

Other than those to songs it's not awful.

Also I must say a while back on one of the many Bonkers 18 threads, once it was announced Hixxys doing a recents tracks or whatever mix, someone (I cant remeber who) called that "R u ready" would be on it so...

Good call!

Why is the assumption he was forced? We should be pleased that a guy like Sharkey is pairing underground talent with big names like Scooter and the typical AATW fare, and we should also be ****ing PSYCHED that he is CD1. I think you guys are a little to convinced AATW is a maniacal conspiracy (not specifically speaking to you Whispering) and fail to realize that one can make money and be successful without selling out. More power to you, Sharkey.

I thought Hixxy said the new Bonkers was just going to be Him, Sharkey, and Unknown, and that Scott said he's never doin' another Bonkers again.

Rubbish, I don't believe anything like that was ever said.

I know nothing about Bonkers other than I was SUPPOSED to do it but looks like it's been ripped out of my grasp.

warped_candykid Out of all the tracks released from 2000+, Hixxy picks the same ones that have popped up on EVERY "Classics" album!

Oh my ****ing god, lol.

As for this CD, hopefully they can learn from their mistakes and listen to the fans and act accordingly
To be fair hixxy did say he was making a 2000+ set and these songs were expected although In a 9 year timeframe I wish he could've used some other songs
Unknown's mix is literally unknown , to me atleast. I have to wait and hear it for myself.

I am literally DYING to hear the S3RL - Dealer VIP mix; I have been listening to the original since HU3 released.
It is that ****ING good
deado Yeh wtf with the Hixxy mix.... seems like incomplete info... it will be stupid if the tracks are exactly the same as the tracks on earlier Bonkers and other albums, might as well not even do a new mix if that's the case.

We've already had a "Best of Bonkers" damnit...

Other CDs look ok, and as for the Scooter remixes, they will either be epic or meh, I think they'll be fine though, Weaver knows what he's doing, always pleased with his tracks ;)

I have a feeling that if AATW is dissatisfied with the results of this album, sales or otherwise, they will probably play the safe side and turn it into some sort of clone CXH. but we won't know until a few days/weeks/months after this is released.

and i normally like S3RL, but dealer isn't 1 of my favorite tracks from him. hope this VIP mix will do better justice 2 this track imo

Sharkey makes no intrest towards any Scooter like music, suddenly he mixes an AATW album an bam, 3 house artist tunes from AATW. I dont dislike Scooter, i actually have few of their CD's. But i seriously doubt it would have ended in Sharkeys mix, were he not forced to do so.

contract agreetreements terms and conditions. a small consolation to include sharkey presumably for the £
silver Read my exclusive artists news post... Sharkey is EXCLUSIVELY signed to AATW, so they want to pimp Sharkey...

Sharkey new singles (for his album) from AATW will be in a Scooter style I've also heard, but like everything shit changes so we'll have to see...
djDMS I think i'm going to cry!

Not because i'm so against what AATW are doing in general (I have LOADS of commercial dance tunes and have always been a fan of the cheese), but because the direction they feel they need to go in to make this CD a success.

And it's not just because i'm mad at the use of the Bonkers name - there have been bad Bonkers albums just like in any other long running series.

Not especially the content either - a lot of the remixes potentially sound laughable but i'll reserve judgement on the tunes because i've always been more interested in the end result than the source material when it comes to remixing 'unlikely' tracks.

So what is it that's bothering me?

It's only a couple of weeks since HU3, a real labour of love put together at great risk and with genuine intentions. The parallels are few, the differences obvious

2 sides of a coin if ever i've seen it!
Triquatra i wish the DJ's on the album could say somthing out loud about this...so they could defend themselves against the massive onslaught they are getting on both sides of the hardcore internet..

im guessing they are under contract to keep lips sealed and what not.
was interesting what scott brown said over on the evo forums, sounds like he got side stepped because he isnt an aatw artist...

i still stand my ground, im looking forward to the sharkey mix, im hoping to be plesently surpised with freeform goodness (i havent heard these tracks yet, but aparently when sharkey played that scooter remix at freeformation, people we're going absolutly nuts and dancing their heads off/getting on things to dance!! :) cd 2 isnt going to interest me, as its going to be just a clubland esq style, and like i said

i dont mind cd3 in the slightest, in fact, i think its a good thing, this cd is going to reach a stupid amount of people that have never listened to hardcore before - and i would prefer those people to hear a few older "classics" than a load of clonecore rubbish that is on cd2...

in my mind cd3 wasnt designed for me - but i feel its more of a clever tactic to get some of the older stuff heard by a new generation...without throwing them in at the EVEN deeper end of doing a real old skool happy mix, like some of the other albums do

either way, despite they have mixed this album up alot and it would appear that the variety of older bonkers has gone out the window - im still looking forward to hearing this album - in a way it feels like its gone back to a more fun style Bonkers 1 - just new skool

not long left till the release - i have a wedding to survive first though haha

You aint heard anything yet and you've already judged it.

Some people are wanks.

As you've just demonstrated. The music on it isn't really the issue, it's the fact that they had the opportunity to carry on the tradition of Bonkers and did the complete opposite, they're relaunching it, which only goes to show that it's only the name they care about. I mean I can't blame them, from a business standpoint it makes sense and that's what they are, but that doesn't mean I'm going to endorse it, and I won't.

I agree. If 'keeping the scene alive' involves releasing utter rubbish like that (have you seen some of the tracks?) then i'd rather it died. In a commercial sense at least, as only the commercial side that can really die anyway. Most of the people who post here now only turned up on the scene when it got commercial anyway, and don't actually like any of the 'real' Hardcore, just this sped up pop Trance rubbish that really has nothing to do with proper Hardcore. It's a completely difference scene.

I've not read this until now but what the **** is this bollocks? They really do believe in their own ********.

"this TV album will take that brand to the next level" - only one place this album is going to take the brand to and that's to the £5.99 bargain bin in ASDA.

"The new Bonkers album will be the first of its kind establishing on TV the Bonkers brand and setting up the series for more instalments" - Oh dear god no.

"the original DJs as they are the biggest names in the Hardccore scene today – Hixxy, Sharkey and Unknown" - AATW Discogs is your friend - Unknown on previous Bonkers?

"brand new track listing" -

Bonkers advertised on Smash Hits TV - the scene has finally found a savior...

The choons Scooter does would be loads better without him chanting in his annoying voice across the tracks imo.
Jimmygoat Just as a start to any point about albums is to listen to them as they are music things.

Of course cd3 is older stuff, so you know what it sounds like.

I know that its not as simple as that, but its worth bearing that point in mind before getting your anti Scooter Weaponry out straight away!

treetherealest Well we must not forget that previous Bonkers have had Ultrabeat and Darren Styles on them. I personally have nothing against Scooter. His Jumping All Over the World album is probably the closest thing recently that has the original happy hardcore sound (excluding the fact that the BPM are much slower). I guess we will all wait and see. Cover looks okay. We must not forget that Bonkers 16 didn't have any cartoons on it either.

I don't know whats with the hate against scooter, That Nessaja Scooter remix by Breeze on CXH2 (or 3? I dunno) is pretty good. If breeze can do that to what was the original nessaja Im sure Sharkey can pull somthing that's equally as good or better.
acidfluxxbass the issue we all have with scooter is that they are a cheese dance group who make terrible music in general. they call them selves 'hardcore' when really they are not. in fact, the 'hardcore'ness is only another way to sell themselves to listeners. in short. they aren't hardcore, therefore have no place on a hardcore CD... Ive heard so many scooter remixes aswell they're just boring..

same goes for cascada, styles and e-type.

I think a Hardcore remix by Sharkey & K-complex belongs on a Hardcore cd, even if the original is by Scooter. Now we will only know if it is good or not when it comes out.

The Hardcore remix of Scooter - Nessaja, by Breeze on CXH2 is very good like Deezenuts said. I'm sure Sharkey & Kevin Energy are gonna turn this one into a must-have release as well.

The thing is, if they are going to make totally different, better version of the track, which will need a lot of work to do so IMO, & turn it into something the freeform lovers will like, they might aswell just make a completely new track & do something a bit different.

They're only remixing it cause its got the Scooter name as the artist. Am I wrong?

GoBeserk man, bonkers was always meant to be a representation of the hardcore scene, but this is just another pile of raver baby crap. iv heard nearly all the tracks on CD3, chris unknown in my opinion isn't first choice to mix a CD, sharkeys mix seems a bit watered down. theres not even a single gabber tune on there, scott brown could always be relied upon for that. i grew up on the bonkers albums but this is an absolute joke, i want the cartoons on the front and the original DJs back. not buying it in a million years.

thats good, i though i was rambling like a moron.

in honesty, the music they make is okay, but not at all suitable for bonkers.

even if it is remixed, how much better can it be? are we all sick of that same high pitched voice and poor MCing on top? I am...

It's just a bit more sneaky promotion from AATW... :(
Triquatra i know where you guys are coming from - but if its a hardcore remix of one of thier tracks it has every right to be on a hardcore album...especially because of who remixed it!!!! :)

i havent even heard these remixes, and im really looking forward to hearing the NEC's take on these songs...i think everyone needs to lighten up a bit!..wait till the cd is out, and everyones heard the tracks on it....then you should complain :)

we'll have to see. what hurts the most for me is the fact that everyones going to forget the roots of bonkers.. bonkers 1. im just happy i discovered it before this came out to replace it..

i have my fingers crossed for this one though. i will buy it, but i really want to hear 'bonkers'. actual 'bonkers'. tbh i doubt im going to hear it through the likes of 'amigos' but sharkey is the one we'll hold out for.

you know, you never know. maybe each cd inside the pack has a cartoon on? like the classic bonkers, unknowns cd has a cartoon unknown on, same with sharkey and hixxy? after atll, they kept thte old logo lol

fingers crossed, eh?
Triquatra yeah, i hope that people dont forget where bonkers came from, and hopefully AATW will acknowledge the older bonkers in the TV ads, i would have thought they would want to (seeing as they want the bonkers name) if they want to ride off the previous success' of the past bonkers then they will want to keep it inline with the rest (hense the kept the logo)

watch this forum start to fill up with 5 times more newbies after bonkers is released ;)
(someone quote me on this when it happens hahaha)

when they do come, if they arent in the know - i think people on here are going to make sure that they DO know lol ;)

yeah i agree, it looks that AATW are trying to make everyone forget about the old bonkers
Triquatra then your agreeing with acid, not me lol - i dont think they want people to forget the old bonkers at all - because thats the whole reason they bought the name - because of its name and following, its the following they want to keep, else they would have just changed the logo and the DJ's...and tryed to make it at least look a million miles from the other bonkers, as it stands i think this album, at least cover wise will fit in just fine with the rest of the bonkers (9,10 and 11 excluded)

im willing to bet that they will say somthing nodding toward the fact there have been other bonkers albums in the past
"Bonkers continues" .."Bonkers is back..and more zaney than ever"
that type of thing...besides, i think younger kids need to be given more credit - if they have the internet, it will take them seconds to find out that there have been 18/19 bokers albums before this one lol

You cant polish a turd. Simple as that. The original being Scooter, it doesnt matter who remixes it it's still Scooter. That Nessaja track was ok but the original was ok. Im not too bothered about the Posse tune cos i actually like that (i still dont think either should be on a Hardcore compilation remix or not but there you go) my problem is with Jumping All Over The World - which im sure isnt the Status Quo track, if its that one i will be pissed. Jumping al over the world or the other one with Status Quo (dont know the name) being on there is a piss take. I dont care if its Sharkey, K-Komplex, Darren Styles or even Darwin remixing it. Its still gonna be awful

Btw i know Darwin wouldnt do such a thing im just trying to make a point.

EDIT

Couple of other things.

1. i dont think Scooter really consider themselves Hardcore anymore. Maybe a few years ago, but now it seems theyre quite happy to make commercial music and have done for a good few years, theyre making Jumpstyle now.

2. Why the f*ck are people saying theyre going to buy this even if they dont like it when it does come out? Surely thats just exasibating this problem of commercial Hardcore tunes and remixes of commercial tunes into commercial Hardcore.

Why complain away about how AATW are gonna **** up Bonkers and then still go ahead and support them in doing this by buying the album anyway? Youre just as bad as them imo. If youre doing this to "support the scene" (i hate when people say that) then surely there are other ways to do this, ways that will ensure more GOOD Hardcore is produced. As appose to supporting this heap of shit and basically giving Hardcore producers the nod to make even more commercial shite because they know that morons will still lap it up to support their precious scene. Also making good/underground Hardcore producers think "why bother?"

AATW arent killing "the scene". We are by allowing them to do so. If you dont like what they are doing then do something about it. Dont just sit at your computer typing angrily about your cartoons and hate of all things commercial on an internet forum then go lace the pockets of the very people you are complaining about. Christ get a grip

That 2nd bit isnt directed solely at you Acid, so please dont take it as a personal attack at you mate.
Triquatra meh
they've made some really awful songs, and some good ones... just like with any artist really..

music is music to me, im not going to hate a track or remix just because its scooter

if i like a song its because its good, not because of who made it..

they're probably only remixing it because AATW said so. I don't like when companies do that, as it happens a lot with Eurobeat too... It doesn't mean the track will be bad either, so as long as it is Hardcore and it is enjoyable, i'm in.

That 2nd bit isnt directed solely at you Acid, so please dont take it as a personal attack at you mate.

i admit I'll buy the CD. i buy any hardcore cd that comes out simply to fill up the cd rack and enjoy whats worth enjoying. That doesnt stop me from ripping into AATW. They have very commercial music signed to them and it's being regurgitated into hardcore so much now, that it's becoming a terrible cliche. they may get a hell lot of money from the cd, but how long will it last? all the terrible reviews about the place will spread and will take influence over the newbies. we are the hardcore elites. we've been around longest and know more.

i know that im bitching about AATW, probably moreso than anyone else simply because bonkers has been a love of mine for a very long time and I lisrten to it all the time. but if it's a hardcore cd, and I can get it for the small amount of good music that's on there, then I'll do so. I'd buy other poor cd's like decadance and good cd's like HU3 all the same. by buying an AATW product isnt supporting them any moreso than i do for the guys that make Hardwired, or HU3, or Hardcore nation or anything else.

The fact is, whether we all buy it or not, AATW will have a very manipulative influence over younger minds and all those younger minds entering hardcore will be more than enough to fuel AATW after that. it's up to DJ's like Sharkey to resist the 'plague' (and im using that term wrecklessly). but the fact is sharkey wouldnt be in it for the money.. surely not.. he's only in it so he doesnt have to part with bonkers. and after all, bonkers is probably the main source of his achievment to date, along with freeformation events.

wow

there is a world outside of happyhardcore.com

This isn't the only place where people that have been listening to Hardcore for a 'long time' gather and discuss. You are not standing at the turning point of the universe.

Elitist, maybe. Elite, my ass.

As much as I don't agree with a lot of AATW's management decisions, I can't support statements like this.

They dont give a shit about bitching on forums though mate, the only measure they will use as to whether the CD is a success or not is money. If people buy this then AATW are earning from it, that's supporting them and letting them, know that they can make more shite and people will buy it. Support for them is money, NOT bad forum reviews or any reviews for that matter. Even if the artists involved walk upto Mr fat cat at AATW and slap him (or her) in the face and say the album is shit, theyll shrug that off and look at the pile of money flowing in for this album and that's what theyll go off. In this case money is everything. Complain all you like on here, it wont change anything if youre still buying the album and giving youre money to AATW. Not saying youre supporting them more than other companies, but youre still supporting them and the commercial shite that theyre pumping into Hardcore. See the bigger picture and do what you can to change it.

Sharkey has to earn a living. Im not having a pop at him for this, i have lost almost all respect for him for it but he has to earn a living, and like (almost) anyone else will do what he can to achieve this. He could have quite easily said no to this, AATW didnt hold a gun to his head and say "MIX IT!!!!" it was entirely his choice as was signing to AATW in the first place. So in actual fact, although he may have other reasons, Sharkey IS in it for the money. This doesnt make him a bad person but it is true.

Yeah, I have to agree there meathead. Sharkey is in it for the money now i'm afraid otherwise he'd have done what Scott Brown's down & wash his hands of AATW.

As for him having to make a living, I don't agree with that one bit. There's alot of shitty jobs i'd rather have than selling out Hardcore. Obviously the fat cats have waved a nice big cheque infront of his cheeky little face & he's snatched it up but they'll have done the same to Scott Brown & he's told em where to go GOOD LAD!

Like i say mate, almost everyone. I wouldnt do it id defo do a Scott Brown n all, but its his Sharkey's choice. I dont know why he did it, but he probably had his reasons so imnot gonna judge too much, ill just accept he's just one more producer recruted to the darkside.

am talking about Scooter in general.

I don't know whats with the hate against scooter, That Nessaja Scooter remix by Breeze on CXH2 (or 3? I dunno) is pretty good. If breeze can do that to what was the original nessaja Im sure Sharkey can pull somthing that's equally as good or better.

I do like the tunes Scooter has done bar 1 it's the chanting over the tunes by the mc hp, am talking about.
Craigavon raver very suprised 2 see that aatw have kept the original logo, but i,m disappointed they didn,t keep the cartoons are call it 18

and some of the track list is a joke couldn,t beleive scooter tracks sharkey remix(i actually laughed out loud)and what unknown is playing at starting of with some u2 crap i,ll never know, then we come 2 hixxys mix,i thought it was 2000+ mix so were all the tracks from 2000,2001e.t.c and he had 2 put his worst track ever on the mix r u ready(absolute woeful track)

but then again alot of it looks good but we,ll never know till we hear it,the track which stuck out most for me and i can,t wait 2 hear it is darwins remix of let me be your fantasy, but knowing my luck it,ll be even worse than the u2 and scooter remixes lol
K6HLR isnt hixxys disc off H.T.I.D lol
CDJay "and i can,t wait 2 hear it is darwins remix of let me be your fantasy, but knowing my luck it,ll be even worse than the u2 and scooter remixes lol"

It's good, honestly. This was done "for fun" a while ago, and was originally featured on HU3. Due to delays to the aforementioned, we couldn't license it at the final moment, and AATW have gone above and beyond to clear it here.

It is breaks. It is fairly true to the original, and it's inclusion here should be welcomed by all

Rubbish, I don't believe anything like that was ever said.

I know nothing about Bonkers other than I was SUPPOSED to do it but looks like it's been ripped out of my grasp.

wonder why thy didnt have Scot Brown on the cd?
Triquatra its because all three DJ's that are mixing the cds...are all AATW signed artists

in a mildly unreated note - i just won the promo acetate sampler for Bonkers 9 :)

Awesome
Starstruck I am kinda disapointed... Dont like Hixxys disc.. didnt he do a similar "old" one not too long ago? Bah.. Sharkeys disc - Looks great! Looks interesting.. Unknowns disc - hmmmmm dunno....

Im not sure if ill buy or not. Might do.
Excalibur The album has me a bit disappointed but relieved at the same time. It's missing the charm and flair that the original ones had, but at least they kept the logo the same and the bimbos away from the cover. I still don't get what they mean by TV Album though, does that mean super mainstream? I hope not. What has me even more surprised though is that Hixxy didn't try to throw in "Set You Free" in there somewhere.
Triquatra yeah - that whole "tv album" is a bit odd"..like i said earlier, its not exactly unusual for bonkers to be on TV since its been advertised on their since bonkers 9 lol
Dogsy IMO It could be better but it could be worse. Sharkey's disc looks the best.Chris Uknown's looks ok(ish). Hixxy's... well another cd of tracks that have been heard before. Im not saying I hate the tracks there is some I loved when I heard them a few years ago but lots of us can just go though our cd collection at home and pick these tracks out. Its been a more than a year a half since B17- a long wait and it seems wasteful for a whole disc to be filled with overheard tracks.

Ill still buy it for the Sharkey and Chris Unknown's cds.
Triquatra ^^ only overheard to us - this album is going to reach a stupid amount of people that have never heard hardcore before, so im quite happy that they put these classics on there, and not a load of useless older tracks
MAtRiCks I find they should have got someone else for the 3rd cd... I guess Hixxy's name is just that big that they're confident it will boost the sales, but the RBC seem to be keeping their upcoming stuff exclusively for the next HTID & CXH...

you walk down the street and often you hear 'sacrifice' playing on someones phone.

he has a big influence over the 'noobs'.. not only that, hes native to Bonkers. he started it. it'd be kinda off to exclude him from it's 'rebirth'..
sharkzter Just to start This is going on a few sites so is not directed at each site but to everyone

thanks!! (and that is not to everyone)

I mean i put a good weaver remix onto Bonkers...so what if it's a scooter track!!!! its the bollocks and has kicked ass for months in my set. There have been a few more more underground hardcore Jocks trying to get this record off me for months as Bonkers was meant to be sooner so i kept a lid on it. So it must be shit!!!

The status Quo/scooter track is wrong i did not remix a quo track i did remix of Scooter jumpin all over the world remix. This is a mistake and is being rectified. I like the track and im not the only one who thought it was a good single to have a go at im sure a few others wouldnt have turned down the chance to remix it.

My mix was reduced to 18 tracks from a starting selection of 25. i had to choose between tracks and work out at the same time what was good in the mix. So before people start saying this and that they need to realise what really happens and goes on!!!!

Look at my tracklist and see other artists that do not make clubland usually that are my mix

CLSM
Marc Smith
Al Storm
Kevin Energy
Darwin
Arkitech
Sharkey hehehe
S3RL
Brisk
Ham
weaver

Are you begrudging them the chance to earn some Kudos finally?????
Now Darwin is a major top roller on my mix fully deserved. Weaver made it on my mix as a result of a good remix. Arkitech has sung a great song on this with when tears fall. i would have hated to put a mix together without the all of them i want them to succeed and finally they have someone who is licensing their music onto a major advertised album. They wouldnt have as much of a chance otherwise....so would you turn the chance down??

of course you would

now then......

I have been accused of selling out on various sites by signing to all around the world let me tell ya a story then.

Are you guy's seriously saying i should have turned them down?

what idiot would?

Just because it is AATW it makes a difference? i dont see the logic in that

I have always done my own thing and will be carrying on my own thing.

they knew what sharkey was when they signed me. They want my vocals, they want me to just be myself and express

they know what they are signing with me and they know that they are not always gonna get what they get off darren styles. Do you think i would have signed for them if i was gonna be told what to write???????? I mean i have spent a whole career on not doing as im told. Again i will say just because its AATW it makes such a difference??

There were other companies intersted in signing me and i weighed up all the options. The best deal for myself and all the artists i represent was the AATW deal. They will give all the artists the exposure that they finally need. i work in a scene where some artists dont get the respect they deserve. Getting signed to AATW was a breath of fresh air for them. they know that everyone gets a chance on my mix so it kinda helped everyone as they finally can earn some money...they have earned it as well. We have all had to work twice as hard to get somewhere...If only you knew

I have not been on here for a while as this thread proves that there are too many people ready to judge things before they actually need to be judged. just enjoy my mix then make as many comments on you want on the mix. To say your not buying an album because of the cover is just stupid. Just wait and hear the album!!

and for those people who have slagged me behind my back by saying nothing to my face or taking bookings off me for Freeformation but go online and and say all kinds of things

i know who ya are.......thanks! i supported you and your music and this is the thanks i get for it

Triquatra this would be the perfect point for someone to post an "owned" picture ;)
acidfluxxbass some valid points from sharkey.

i still feel that the albums only worth the sale thanks to sharkeys disc. My opinion on the scooter remixes maybe negative, but i respect the reasoning. if you like them, put them on, but it appears to the community that AATW pushed scooter infront of your nose as suddenly they're on bonkers for the first time.

whilst it shows less on sharkeys mix, it does appear that there are similarities between bonkers - toh and htid or clubland also from aatw. unknowns cd has very aatw-esque tunes and remixes. robyn, xml (propably spelt wrong) and other 'commercial' songs that i dont feel fit the traditional bonkers trend of being a bit more 'underground'. i guess we have to expect it (and we did). also, hixxy's mix, whilst containing good tunes appear to have the same kind of tracklist as the 3rd cd on htid or cxh5.

It's always the sharkey cd i enjoy most on bonkers and I know this will continue. clearly the more underground and less heard tracks are on there and that's the main element i like in hardcore. i simply hope aatw doesnt push too much of their stuff infront of sharkeys nose and expect you to help support their existing franchise.

Like I've said I'll buy the cd, simply because its hardcore, it's bonkers and sharkeys one of the best personalities in hardcore.
I wouldn't mind hearing his views on the restarting of the bonkers franchise and the exclusion of the traditional cartoons which are topics which have evidently been underfire.

Ps. just to clarify, wen i said hardcore 'elites', i meant we have been the ones who have heard hardcore from it's roots and since the underground ages of before the millenia in comparison to those introduced to hardcore through, say, clubland or whatnot. Elite was the wrong terminology, i guess i meant 'veteran'? i speak mindlss crap sometimes lol

Hixxy's disc on CXH5 has NOTHING to do with this classics anthems cd coming out on the next bonkers. There isn't a single repeat on it, and very few remixes of old tracks. It's also excellent :P You're 100% right about the HTID cd though.

That is completely awesome! Upfront Hardcore @ random people's phone ring. You don't get that often here in Canada :P

I know his name has a significant importance when it comes to Bonkers, and like I said it most probably shows sales-wise, I just wish they chose someone who's best new material isn't reserved for another series. Dougal &/or Gammer comes to mind for example! I'm waiting to find out what their new outlet is gonna be now that True Hardcore is gone, but I think Bonkers would have been perfect.

Myself included

Fair enough, the choice of remixing and including the Scooter track in his mix was entirely Sharkey's, should have known really from the videos on Youtube :p As long as AATW arent pressuring artists and bending them to their will im not fussed. I still wont buy this album.

1. i dont have enough money to waste on a pile of shite with maybe one good CD.
2. i ****ing hate AATW and everything they stand for *shakes fist* and refuse to give them my hard earned tenner (yes i am a cheapskate).

Im glad all the underground artists Sharkey listed (amongst others) will get the recignition and money they have deserved for a long while, but i stand my ground. These artists have (and probably will continue to be) featured on Hardcore Underground and other smaller compilations, which i am more than happy to throw money at willy nilly, so either way theyre getting my support and recignition, im just cutting AATW completely out of the picture *shakes fist some more*. I will change this world (ok not the world just the Hardcore scene but world sounded cooler in my head) one compilation at a time.

He should've said clubland in general. i can count at least 8 of those tracks appeared on Clubland. and i have the HTID album i seriously thought they just copied that bonus cd from any clubland.

and yes sharkey was right for saying something. i was getting sick and tired of people bitching about the cover when it is the least important thing about the album, regardless of whether it's been a longstanding tradition.

and hating on his cd because of the scooter track is wrong. i also made a small comment about it, but it never meant to hate his whole contribution to the album. we should leave the criticziing of sharkey's mix unless you are mentioning something different. he doesn't deserve it.

however, bitcha about Unknown and Hixxy's cd all you want because that's where the real flaws in the album are.

It would be interesting to hear his thoughts on the direction the series has taken as he and Hixxy were the creators of the series?

It would be interesting to hear his thoughts on the direction the series has taken as he and Hixxy were the creators of the series?

it's not his responsibility to defend. if Unknown and Hixxy want to say something about their contributions to the album, they should grow the balls to come on here and say it. but we all know that Hixxy doesn't make an effort to communicate directly to the hardcore fans who aren't acceptable of his clubland sound.

also, sharkey saying nothing about their contributions and the direction of the album can also be interpreted in a way. but Sharkey is not an idiot, he's not about to slag off on an album that he is on, that'll be career suicide. why would anybody start going around and spitting out negative info on a product that they are featured on? it is bad press and would also look bad on sharkey, whether it is true or not.

She didn't say that Sharkey would be negative she just said it would be nice to hear his views on the direction of the album and also she never said anything about it being his responsibility to defend anyone or anything.

Is it cos i is a girl?
j/k
Mauler i have to hear this album first before pre judging but ill have to pre judge on the fact i already own 75% of this tracks and some are over played, I will buy it but im hoping it will surprise me else this new revamp AATW have done is a complete waste of time.
The Doc I've been a bit quiet on my views on this album (not like me!) but it will be the first Bonkers release I won't buy straight away, Whatever sharkey says, its not helped at all for all us punters. We clinged on to the fact that the series (when took over by AATW) would still stay to its roots as a proper non commercial hardcore album, we knew it wouldn't, but hoped! Well now I will wait for the price drop (AATW albums always do after a few weeks) and buy it from Morrisons using my £5 petrol voucher I got the other day!
DJ-Intensity I've ruled out buying this can't bear to have that old dosh from the third CD again.

I agree with you DJ-Intensity.

this-is-bonkers sharkz has made sum really good points especially to the haters who want to boycot bonkers completly jus cus it moved to AATW

although the thing i dont think he gets is the bad reputation AATW has for makign everything "samey" (kinda like scott brown OOO BURNED! lolz) that the only reason we have been worried about our beloved bonkers

i will admit i was going to boycot this album but im such a huge bonkers bummer i cant bring myself to do it and the tracklist is just WIN!!

DJ_Assassin_HTID Well not quite sure what to think of it, looks are very deceiving but w wont know how much cheese is on it till someone actually buys it, i do miss the old days though of wackin on bonkers in my bedroom blastin the volume and listenin to true underground hardcore trax that you would actually wait and buy :D bring back the old bonkers days!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, most people have stated they won't be buying it because they don't like the look of it.

I had a feeling AATW would ruin it, in my opinion they have. If I liked the look of it, I'd have bought it regardless. Tell me, why would I buy something I didn't like the look of? If I get a listen to it and like it, maybe Iwill actually buy it. I doubt it though.
D-Noise il buy this maybe ..i have started collecting hardcore cds again

I doubt that'll happen. None of my mates seem willing to part with the cash for it. I'm certainly not going to, it doesn't look to be to my taste. Oh well, too bad.

mnimmo1986 Hey, Juno Records have a listing for this CD up which contains some samples (about 1min in length) for you to listen to if you want...

thats because it basically is hixxys old stuff...

his cd is just all 'older (2005-6)' tracks
acidfluxxbass darwins remix of 'todays the day' sounds soo freaking good.. i mean... wow!

the scooter remixes are so so.. but I expected it, really...

building shaker vip sounds the same as the original..

s3rl sounds amazing! loving dealer! its my shopping list in a song!

jump 2 da groove sounds really nice, but does sound a bit like a revamped version of the original, difficult to tell given the clip.

Liking most stuff on there, 'we're getting faster' sounds nice, just as darwin often does. again with 'let me be your fantasy'. a unique diverse taste added to the mix.

Wicked MC 2009 sounds a bit strange to me, heh heh, but im sure ill love it like the original.

Oh allow me to point out, sharkey has employed decent mixing!! contrasted to aatw's clubland mixing where only a reverb kick sperates each song..

-

im amazed at hixxys 'the theme' remix! ive never heard it before! wow! (joking, ive heard it many times :)) - something that confuses me, why isnt jurgen vries credited in the song titling?

flip & fill - discoland is probably the most crap song ive heard so far.. what the hells it doing on this album?!?! and its donkeys years old!

sy & unknown - hardcore sounds good! they know how to make a true hardcore track every now and again like the older days :)

pilgrims still got the magic touch, though's a bit old to be on here.. however, it's quality in the clip makes it sounds like a 2009 track, quite amazing.

e-type rain must be like 160bpm...

d&g - guitar hero is absolutely amazing. like OMG. shame about what it mixes into..

and oh lord... 'take me to the clouds above'.. dreadful... the vocals arent exactly good quality either..

'welcome to the trip' is a unique attempt at hardcore, but the track just hasnt got the oomph behind it to make it a decent track compared to other material you have on there. it goes to show how poorly re-con and chris fair in the wrong genre. they're good in their respective fields.. but w.t.t.t lets them down...

from what i hear, also, unknown reverts back into the 2 second mix approach for the mixes.

--

those ARE SOME OF MY HONEST (un-caps, sorry) oppinions..

im still kinda enthusiastic, i guess..

Craigavon raver only listened 2 some of the clips but some sound pretty grim, like pacman and even darwins remix of let me be your fantasy was pretty bad intill the piano came in at the end of the clip, the u2 remix was actually okay(and i only listened 2 it for a laugh lol)
Meathead CD1 - its ok, i thought it would be alright, but of course there's those bloody Scooter tunes so just no. Nothing much to say about it though, no track really stands out to me so even if it didnt have the Scooter tunes on its still not all that great...... imo of course. Last track is a bit ironic init? Freeform will never die? Where's the freefrom in that one lol.

CD2 - 1st track sums this cd up dont it? Awful. The only saving grace i could see looking at the tracklist is Guitar Hero (****ing tune) but that in no way counteracts the level of shit on the CD. It was good to get to Guitar hero actually just to have a break from all the vocal tripe. i counted 13 out of 18 cheesy, vocal tracks (including that god awful affair with storm). So over two thirds, thats not good.

CD3 - Deja vu anyone? I know its supposed to be a sort of classics mix but theyre not even classics so it fails on two levels. 1) Old tracks on a new compilation. 2) old tracks in the vain that theyre classics, yet they arent. I mean he used the Darren Styles mix of Free Your Mind ffs. Probably the most effortless mix Hixxy's thrown together.

Happy to see some deserving names on here who'll benefit from appearing on such a big compilation, congrats to them. But 17 quid for ONE - not even that good - CD? no ta.

@acid:
how do you know anything bout the mixing man? Cant really tell from the clips.

EDIT

Hixxy's mix can actually hear a bit of mixing allbeit not that great.

a couple of the clips from sharkeys disc have good mixing. In 'here we go', theres plenty of scooter mcing prior to the track changing.

also, you can hear in unknowns cd's how the music will kinda have the up-sweep and the typical end-of-the-song and the beginning of the next...
Lorenzo.Tweakn guitar hero is best track outta all three discs

It is a commercial album release though so the emphasis is going to be on the tunes as apose to the mixing, and all the mixing will be done on computer software anyway so i wouldnt expect complex and exciteing mixing, probably not even from Sharkey's CD. Not having another dig at AATW here, im pretty sure that its common practice these days.
Niko22 Hi guys!

oh aatw are winnits
Triquatra well its not really forcing, he could have just said "no" and walked away from it

but what he said pretty much summed up what i was thinking about this whole thing

"Bonkers has been known for sorta having that underground edge....and we cant keep pushing the underground edge AND get the support from a major record company"

i want to know what happened where they cut it.. straight after he said that at 5:10, and hixxyand that guy are laughing and he's backing away from hixxy lol...and it cuts to "and on that note"

Ye, I also want to know why they cut there lol..
latininxtc maybe hixxy was trying to grab the reporters crotch! lol but i think he got into too much detail and they needed to cut it
