Tal What does everyone here use as in the equipment?

I work with a rhythm sampler, which I use to sample real drums, pianos and guitars, and a looping program.
I guess I'm a minimalist.

Line your lungs with noise and just sew it up.
DJ Mouse yamaha xg card and a soundblaster live, now that is minimal :P

CandyAss Since everyone is posting their decks now:

2 Technics SL1210 Mk2s (black)
Vestax PCV-150 5-Channel mixer
2 Stanton Trackmaster II Cartridges
Sony V700 headphones
And all plugged through my home stereo system..it's not too bad though.

As far as producing all I have are some old versions of Acid, Rebirth, Cool Edit Pro, Fruity Loops, etc. but I'm not cool enough to use that stuff efficiently yet anyway.

Raver_Davie I started out about 2 months ago but it's two Gemini sa600II turntables, Vestax PCV150 mixer linked to a cheap Thompson Hi-fi and 50 vinyl (44 Hardcore, 6 Hard House).

Dave!
Skyler I'm still bored so I guess I'll post here too..

I have two Numark TTX1 Turntables, Vestax PCV275 Mixer & Sony MDR-V700 Headphones ;)

All of this is hooked up to my Yamaha AX-500 Amp and some old but trusty Kef speakers which absolutely annihilate my small room :)

Wotz you're opinion on em????

Skyler They are very good, as far as features and performance go they are superior to Technics. The only trouble with them is no one knows how long they will last, everyone knows Technics will last 10+ years and very rarely go wrong. The TTX1's have only been out for almost a year now so no one can know how long they will last yet. I took a gamble and bought a pair and said bye to 1210's and I've never really looked back. If these things turn out to be on par with Technics in reliability then I think we have a new king of decks, but I dont know how they will last...

So far they have been absolutely fantastic, no problems, fantastic performance and they have been reliable so far..

Hey Skyler how long have you had those headphones?

I ask this as I've bought a pair about 3 days ago and am quite chuffed with them! Recently I stumbled across some hardware reviews on http://www.djstore.co.uk (I didn't buy them there). As you can probably see they aren't good reviews, I'm hoping you can disagree to these as I feel kinda bad spending 100 quid on these (when your girlfriend looks in a jewellery shop window and back at you with puppy dog eyes you'll know! )

Dave!
DJ Mouse tell her your headphones were and investment and you won't be able to spin at a party without them, then you'll be rich after spinning at the party and can get her an even better bit of jewellery. if she's blonde she'll understand or at least agree

Raver_Davie That's not alot of vinyl mind, my friend (He's on here, user name is Mataveli) has well over 300, close on 400 but he's been doing it it since 1999.

That's just hardcore vinyl, he has loads of others.

Skyler Davie: They are very good headphones (would I buy anything shit?) - dont answer that ;)

They are well worth the money and will last a long time..

They are not so good for listening though, well they are good but nothing compared to Sennheiser headphones..

Affliction: Of course I will keep you updated ;p

I've got the 601 S3s (along with a matching ASW600 subwoofer), they're great speakers for the money. Flat response, good imaging, and very detailed. They'll keep sounding better as you break them in. To get the most out of them, make sure you don't skimp on cheap speaker cables and interconnects.

Happy listening,
Ruffage

Skyler I'm using Atlas Bi-Wired speaker cable, its about £10/metre ;)

They are fantastic speakers for the cash.. :)

Ruffage Sounds good

I've got QED's Silver Anniversary Bi-Wire, with their Airloc banana plug termination. Interconnects are QED Silver Spirals all around.
