Elliott Can someone who's still paying attention to the scene clue me in please? Who's still making the good stuff?

Recently it seems like every artist I once loved is falling the same way.

I know Scott Brown is still keeping it real so I've obviously been paying close attention to the new Evo releases. Who else should I be paying attention to?
Vladel At the moment (apart from lethal theory of course) I find that I'm enjoying quite a bit of dowster & vagabond stuff and looking to the smaller labels where it's dribs and drabs of gems. TWR stuff isn't worth looking at and there is a lot of low quality imitation powerstomp to avoid. Stu infinity is doing some good stuff these days but it's not one artist in particular.
wong where as i quite enjoy the twr stuff
Quicksilver I still do, if I count. :)

Star City
Home Is Where The Heart Is
Thumpa

The new Fallon bit is good on here, sounds new but old, also love the Macks Wolf remix! New Scott Brown bits are unbelievable Jeff.
Rodz90

There is that mix, which is pretty good. Technikore also seems to be keeping it "real"

Me too. Don't get all this pish about it not being 'real' hardcore. Just because it doesn't sound like it was produced in 2007 doesn't make it less enjoyable. Some really good tunes and some not so good, same as its always been.
arpz https://www.trackitdown.net/recordlabel/157901/legitimate-recordings.html

Legitimate recordings has 3 tunes out at the moment, D-Lyte, Fracus, Dave G & Pj

Worth a look
warped_candykid Evolution (Scott Brown) has some good tunes coming out! Waves, Pump Your First, and a few others off the label!

He already mentioned Scott Brown, so I'd expect he's checking out Evolution already

arpz: Let's see how many are interested in going back to 2005, because the d-lyte stuff do sound nice (and somewhat unlike he did back then because I only ended up buying one or 2 tracks of his :P)
arpz Yeah I really like it! Hopefully lots more comes out on that label
Vladel What's really scary is before i listened to paranoia and compared to some crap now, it doesn't sound that bad.
trippnface nope.

and still way too much ****ing powerstomp influence.

dat j core and makina always kickin though!

oxis i think it is easier to dig gems out if you don't rule out entire labels or artists. personally, while i don't mind TWR, i don't actively listen/buy their releases. however, D&G's Snakebite is easily my favourite track of the year so far. i don't follow the "religion" that hardcore should sound a specific way, the only thing it should do is make me want to dance at a ridiculously high BPM :p that has helped me find great stuff by artist that i generally despise.

you should look at the japanese artists aswell, i heard they were really stepping up a year or so ago, i bet by now you have a big amount of good releases to look through.
CDJay You win at sane appraisal.

CDJay
CDJay (that said, if you listen to the latest HU podcast and still think that after "Don't Let Go" and the Wasted Penguin's remix you are wrong and should self flagellate until sane)

Nice work mate!

While we're on the shameless plug thing, I've got an EP's worth of WIP tracks that I hope will be relevant to the interests of fans of the classic UK hardcore sound: https://soundcloud.com/hellomynameiselliott/elliott-arpstorm-remember-me-finale-the-first-valium-soul-wip-clips

Just gotta get on that finishing stuff hype. :)
Elliott Thanks for all the suggestions btw, guys. :)

Sorry if I offended anyone with my "real hardcore" comments but that's what it is to me. UK hardcore was that thing they made last decade. To each their own! Even the most ardent TWR supporters would have to agree that the style of hardcore has changed significantly since 2011. It's objectively true. But the "for better or worse" part is a matter of opinion.

You mean our Quicksilver? ;)

CDJay It's borderline ironic it takes a disinterested party to so capably demonstrate the problem so utterly.

As a genre, we really don't stand a chance under current stewardship, heh.

CDJay
MC Deecee Mob is making some quality tracks, iron heart and anti gravity being 2 of my favourites, not fully sure if they came out this year but still relatively new.

Cheers! That's me but I must have made "Made To Last" in my sleep cause I don't remember that one!
Sulphurik Great to see a good number of new & newish producers in the scene and have been discovering quite a few new digital labels recently also. Some have been around for a few years but I haven't been following Hardcore as much within the last few years.

New/ newish labels: Future State Music, EMFA, universal Hardcore Digital, Automation Hardcore, Total Hardcore Digital.

Newish artists I'm liking what they're producing: Ben Defekt, Stu Infinity, Andy Dee, Andy Wilson, Doug Horizon, Haze, Team Rocket, JTS, Ken Masters, Skinny, DJ DFX, Dys7, Daniel Seven, Kyle Wytch wood, DJ Fallon, Steven Davidson, Jakka B, Future Hero, Future Shock to name some!

Haze as a newish artist?:D He has been around running Executive for 12+years :P
Also I can't agree with EMFA being proper hardcore, more like proper cancer. Not because of the quality of the tracks( tho S3RL is being a shadow of himself since 2012), but its target market: it will never be a good idea to attract weeaboos and bronies/furries into the scene.

I think Kitsune2/renard does a better work pulling in the furries. s3rl is more a candy raver guy
Elipton Beep Beep, Keemstar alert.

'The scene'.. the Hardcore genre is fractured into loads of various cells. You won't get a massive gabber-head crowd going to a J-core/candy rave event in Milwaukee, and you won't have furries attending Westfest. Hardcore is played at various places to various audiences. Just because it might become popular amongst furries, doesn't mean that you'll start getting 8ft blue glowing cyber-foxes in the middle of the dance floor.

If Hardcore is played at Furcon, or whatever the ****, good - it's presented on a new platform. After all, it's a big community, it'll breath some life into some stagnant music.

Yeah you're right; knew Haze had been producing Hardcore for at least 6 years but not as long as long as you say.

EMFA was a label stumbled across on Trackitdown; I hadn't actually taken a listen to any releases. Have now and it's not what was expecting.

Yes I know the Hardcore genre has many sub-genres. I could have been more specific when mentioned the "scene" - what I was referring to was UK Hardcore.
DJ Sketchy The material I'm making for my new album has a UK Hardcore sound to it! We should start releasing the singles on a MAJOR label in about 6 months time :)
Sulphurik Came across Daniel Seven - Driver which is from an album Finland Full Throttle - Northern Lights.

Good to hear about this in Finland. Have heard of J-core, can't say have heard much but have heard some tracks from M-Project. Never heard of K-core or Kawaiicore.

Also found a couple of French DJs playing UK Hardcore Miguel Kore and DJ Kolt.

DJ Sketchy This is an example of the sound I'm going for, for my album. This is an idea I've made and this will not be the finished product (I don't want to get into trouble with my producer here), as all my ideas for the album will be re-worked in the studio.

martinj1985 Maybe not your taste! here is my sound!

TMMD165 - M@rt!n-J - Cosmic Aurora - OUT NOW!

TMMD180 - M@rt!n-J - Balearic Sunset - OUT NOW!

Yeah I really enjoyed those tracks mate! The first one especially! Very well produced.
martinj1985 Thanks mate :D
Sulphurik Been quite impressed with most tracks i've heard from M-Project this year. Some good solo tracks including Purple Sky on Evolution and a few collabs with Scott Brown and Run To Me M-Project remix. Dowster & Vagabond vs M-Project - I Wanna Be to name a few tracks.

I'm actually less impressed by M-Project this year. I know, he's allowed to make whatever he wants, but if this becomes his go-to music, then he lost his uniqueness and just sounds like the rest.
