i'm thinking of buying a new PC from PC Specialist.co.uk
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.35GHz/20MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard: ASUS? PRIME A320M-K: Micro-ATX, AM4, USB 3.0, 6GB/s
Memory: 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card: 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1050
due to money i can't afford a 1080 but i can always upgrade later but thought maybe someone could point me in the right direction on anything i can change etc |

Unless you're interested in playing the newest game right now, you could always go for a cheaper g-card or use the built-in one until you got enough money for a better card. |

this is mainly going to be used for emulation and video editing i was told the CPU was more important for emulation which is why i went for the best available
i'll most likely upgrade my GFX card within a year but it's much more powerful than my FX3400 & GTX960 i currently have
i'm sure i'd be able to run most games at 1080p with most settings at high |

get a card from scan computers on 36 monthly payments, £:15 a month |

I would change the ram for something faster. AMD Ryzen benefits from faster ram. |

Depends on the emulation. If it's game emulation, anything newer than N64/Playstation 1 really needs a graphic card |

i'm guessing 3000Mhz would be more beneficial for my CPU?

see, this is why you ask people things :) i was always under the impression emulation was mostly CPU based with graphics cards helping out a little

i managed to run a few games on PCSX2 well enough (some slowdown here and there) with my current rig which is pretty woeful
i can barely get 30fps on GTA V at lowest settings currently |

been wanting to upgrade myself, but getting 45-ish on Dark Souls 3 (and hopefully Sekiro too) on mid settings with a Nvidia 950 is enough for me.

One way would be if your monitor has a headphone out you could get a small mixer and mix the channels together in to the headset. Unless it's USB. Other than that I don't know. Although I would love if the next gen consoles have a seperate audio output that's not optical.

i kinda want to listen to some bonkers mixes while i'm playing my current solution had me plopping in a pair of earbud then playing with my headset...kinda hurts after a long session though |

I second this. I have my whole computer/production setup going through a mixer. |

any recommendations on mixers?

The mixer shouldn't make a difference. If all you need it for is combining the PS4 and PC outputs, any mixer with at least two stereo inputs should do. The Behringer Xenyx 1002 line is pretty cheap. You can probably find one used for $50.
The problem is the PS4 doesn't have analog outputs. If your TV/stereo doesn't have an auxiliary output, that means you'll need something to extract the audio from hdmi or from the optical output and convert to analog outputs. Something like one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Coverter-Extreme-Optical-TOSlink/dp/B00BVT4M30/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=toslink+to+rca+audio&qid=1560060390&s=electronics&sr=1-4 https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Premium-Extractor-Converter/dp/B00BIQER0E/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=hdmi+audio+extractor&qid=1560060623&s=electronics&sr=1-3 Finally, do you have the PC aand PS4 plugged into the same wall outlet? If not, you could end up with a 50 Hz buzz (60 Hz in USA) due to a ground loop. If that happens, you'll need a ground loop isolator on one of the signal lines before the mixer. |

Get the new mac pro mate..... |

I'd rather spend those 999 USD on the stand than actually getting a Mac |

ugh macs...that's all i'll say about that |

Id wait for the new AMD processors that are coming next month or something. Also AMD's upcoming GPU's are said to be cheaper then Nvidias, but we'll know next month if it was all hype. But if you're going with Nvidia, also check their 1660 cards. You can compare products there:
https://www.userbenchmark.com The GPU upgrade to 1050 is not worth it, IMO: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-960-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050/3165vs3650 I personally use a 7 year old i5 CPU, and it works just fine, most games need more a powerful GPU, rather then CPU. |
