snerkler I'm not sure if this is the right place on the forum so if not please move it.

Over the past few months I've been working out some of my favourite oldschool piano lines, I've then recorded them to MIDI, layered, quantized, EQ's and detuned as needed. I've done a screen recording showing the piano roll with the MIDI notes in case anyone wants to know how to play them.

These are all done by ear so might not be 100% but are pretty close imo. Also, some sound quite different when there's no other instruments, in particular the strings which often add a different tone. I'm particularly proud of Piano Progression (Obsession), Code Red (S.E. Mix) and Revolution Pt2.

DJ_FunDaBounce This is awesome, man!

"Piano progression" is truly an achievement!

I've picked out a few myself throughout the years. They've served as starting points for my own productions. (A lot to be learned from the process)

Again, great job! :)

PS: The korg m1 vst is truly a Godsend, isn?t it?

;)
Mickey Init This is great. Don't suppose you would know Seduction & Dougal - It's Not Over
Mickey Init So many good ones. Too many to single out! Well done! Which one were you most pleased with?

I barely use the Korg M1 since picking up the Korg Triton. It's better than the M1 IMO.

Thanks very much. I'm only scratching the surface with production, done a couple of tracks (none hardcore) but wish I had time to look at it more seriously. Do you have a link to any of your stuff?

I love the M1, so many iconic sounds

As per my original post Piano Progression, Code Red S.E. Mix and Revolution. I really love the chords in Devotion remix too, Demo went through a purple patch with the Vital Elements style stuff (and the similar sounding releases on Quosh and UDE)

I haven't tried, doesn't sound too tricky but then I thought that with "I've got the Music" and that's stumped me so far.
snerkler I?m not getting email notifications for this thread, how do I set it up to get them?

Oops, my bad! Overlooked that.

Piano Progression is a triumph! Phantasm and So In Love are up there, too!

DJ_FunDaBounce This is the kind of stuff I know.

Disclaimer: I do not consider myself a pianist. Just a meat and potatoes keyboard player (and even that might be overstating it!). lol!

:)

Very nicely done. I'd forgotten about Follow Me, great track that, obviously using the JJ Tribute piano in a different key

Here you go, had a spare 10 mins this morning

Anon. Not sure if Return to elysium is classed as Happy hardcore, but here is the piano midi for it. I made this ages ago, but seeing this thread I thought I would put it here for people to have a look at it in midi form.

Its pretty much bang on , I used the Korg m1 house piano preset and played it along with the actual track for note reference.

Compared to the original elysium piano midi this one is a bit more complicated.

Sulphurik Yes this is great, you've put alot of effort into this. Some of my favourite piano riffs in this and some of these tracks I haven't heard before.

Force & The Evolution - Perfect Dreams (S.E remix) who is S.E? It does sound a little like Force & Styles sound.

possys2 yep what sulphurik said. 100% agree
im sure the S.E is the special edition mix

I don't think SE is anyone. It probably stands for 'special edition', like Posse just said.

It's used a lot on this album

That 'Perfect Dreams' mix is the best out of the lot IMO. I first heard it played by Dougal NYE 1995 @ Dreamscape 21.

seen the triton for rent-to-own but I don?t think my current pc has the power nor space to handle it.

Thanks. It?s actually the Bangin S.E. Remix found on the Future Sound of Hardcore album released by Kniteforce as mentioned above. DJ Force is the same Force from Force and Styles I believe hence the similar sound.

Possibly the best 90s riff!

Can't afford it right now, but thanks. :)
caloldur Can I has midi file?
LeVzi If you can work out the piano break in this, i'll be seriously impressed.

LeVzi The SE in the perfect dreams is special edition, has the banging breakdown in the middle. Real 95 stomper version. Best mix and tbh when I heard it at DS 20 , the place was fking bouncing.

Dougal played if IIRC

Sorry my bad, I fixed the link
snerkler Still not working for me, I?ll check on the computer tomorrow.
Decky_G This is brilliant man 👏

Fair play to you for putting that all together.

Amazing 😁
Buster Nut Fantastic, and thanks for the MIDI!
Skidzorz This is awesome. I would love to hear Piano Progression 20x because that has some crazy layered all over the place pianos.

I remember stumbling upon the Cubase files for Bomb Da Bassline back in my pirating teenage years and fumbling around with it. That was a 1 seed, 10+ day download, lol
