DJ Pathfinder for starting mixing

you must have two decks and a mixer.

also a equlizer and speakers.

also records .

whats the buget? for it.

djbungle Nice to to c that more girls getting into the DJing scene.
Your best bet is to start out using CD's to start your mixing,(its a lot easier).
I started with 2 CD players and a cheap mixer.
If you do try to get unmixed compalation CD's cos it's hard trying to mix something thats been mixed before!!!
GOOd LUCk to you. you will djing.
C YA

what!!!!
Shootin_star_girl Not quite sure what the budget is yet, i'll let u know when I find out

i not agree
i think it not work mixing with cd.
only as an extra deck.

MC RizlaDizla Yeah I gotta agree there. Buy yourself some 'vinyl' decks.

Some people start with belt drive, but I think its best just to get direct.

A set of Techniques 1210 is the set you will never have to replace. If youve got the money and want to really get into it, then I would buy these.

But if you dont have the money then there are a few good starter sets. Soundlabs, Gemini are quite popular.

"Oh my goodness, Oh my Gosh. Here we go with a badboy rush".
Shootin_star_girl How much are the technics1200 gona set me back?

Brian K roughly $800 ~ $1000 - depends on what kind of needles/headshells you get with them...i'd make sure this is really want you want to do before you shell out the money for them. find a friend w/ tables that you can practice on

"If Yoda so smart in Force is, why words in right order he put not?"
DJ Mouse i got my mk3 1210's brand new for £900,which works out at just under $1300 with stanton 505 cartridges,mk2's which they have in most nightclubs are about £700 or $1000

"If Yoda so smart in Force is, why words in right order he put not?"
Shootin_star_girl Yeah a few people have said to try ebay, i will do, thanx x x x x x

DJ STYLUS Yeah i'm only 16, I have been mixing for only a year, and to be honest it is ALOT easier to mix with cd mixers, but when you get more used to mixing you should give decks a chance (mixing perposes). But yeah get CD mixers.

Can't you see I love it, baby when it hurts you so.

Shootin_star_girl *DIRECT DRIVE TURNTABLES THAT IS!

happyraveruk avoid soundlabs like the plague. you don't have to get the best to start with, but it doesn't help getting the worst. if you have a dj specialist shop near by, give them a visit or e-mail a dj specialist web siite for the best advice.

You look like you're in another world, but i can read your mind. 4 o'clock in the morning, and it's starting to get light.

DJ Mouse pathfinder - you ever been on mk3's? they're cool, the pitch slider doesn't dip in the middle, instead you got a reset pitch button, that's the main difference but there's a few other little things as well, once you go on some though you'll want to buy them, everyone else who's been on them wants a pair of their own too :)

you could ask if you could test the equipment
than you could see if you could mix with it.

What model is the turntables and the mixer?

A little Happy never hurt anybody!
spacevinyl If I were you i would just get some average decks n mixer to see how you like it then if you do get some 1210s
Thats how i stared out, just bought some gemini's off a mate, had em for about a year then got bored with it, sold em (records too) n bought a midi keyboard n a copy of cubase.
The mixing thing just was'nt for me, i prefer creating but everybodys different so try it out. Im just saying its not worth spending a grand on something you might get bored of.
[The ones i bought off the mate cost me £400, that was for two gemini (cant remember what at the mo) decks, a numark mixer (pretty decent one at that), amp n speakers.]

Smile, be happy, be hardcore!

let me hear some noize all da girls all da boyz
b1o IMHO, if you're looking for a good decent starter setup go for turntables, Stanton and Gemini make good tables, I started out with a Stanton STR8-60, a Gemini XL-DD50 and a Stanton SK-5 mixer. The Stanton table I got for $180 and the Gemini for about the same. The Stanton mixer was $150. Also get good needles and headphones, I've found that the Shure 3C35C needles are the best price/quality I've found. Good Luck :)
