I'm on a massive piano spree at the moment.
Give me recommendations of all your favourite hardcore tunes with powerful pianos in. Include youtube vids, mixes - anything. Hardcore from all eras welcome!
Hard2Get
Pretty much all Hardcore from 1997!
Mortis
All Force & Styles and Force & The Evolution tracks, no doubt at all that they where the best pianists hardcore has seen.
Hard2Get
Couldn't agree more, definately check them out (F&S first though).
Seriously though UK stuff has much more piano in, in general. Rainbow To The Stars however is truly epic, one of my favourite all time tunes.
I do actually know this one. Very, very sexy. Good shout man.

DJ Unity - Freedom (Ham stomp mix)

I do like it. I like it a hell of a lot. And also, you know what? I don't think I've heard a bad release yet from Make Believe Records. Cracking little label, that.

I've always wondered, do the artists actually play the piano? or is it just a keyboard/program sample?
Brian K
Back in the day everyone had to play a synth/piano part if they wanted it...now all people have to do is rip a midi of a tune to get it =P

They where mostly played, later it became a much easier process as the computer programs became more advanced and easier to use.
On a related point here's a quote from Luna-C regarding DJ Force & The Evolution:
"On first hearing the demo tape, I was impressed by the piano work, and wondered where they sampled the pianos from. It turns out they were all played. I remember being absolutely amazed when I first saw them play keyboards. To this day I have never seen 2 people play the same keyboard simultaneously at 160bpm, and do so accurately like they did. DJ Force generally supplied arrangements and beats, while the others were responsible for the musical content. "

That's an awesome quote.
I'm, lately, really starting to feel like I genuinely missed out on a shit load of amazing stuff by only getting into hardcore in about 2002/2003.

I get that about the early 90's. I feel lucky to have been following the music for so long (16 years to be exact) but I wish I was there for the start of the 90's. At the end of the day you can always go back in time (not literally) using the interweb and grab as much info and listen to as much as you like. You seem very open minded when it comes to music so just start to lap it all up like I used to do. One of the best things to do is to put a random hardcore track on youtube and then start hitting the links to the side of the track and see where it takes you. You can find some absolute belters that you never knew existed
Hard2Get
There is so so many good tunes that i (and many others) could link you to, but i just don't know where to start. There is literally far too many. At the same time though you need to hear them, what does one do in this situation lol? I wish i could just invite you round and put a load of tunes on and chill, that would be the best way haha.
Mortis
Why do you think I haven't posted any links to tracks? Just far, far too many to mention
latininxtc
so a couple of songs came to mind for this topic. these are a little more recent than the last 1 i put up
kathryn
Oh did i say>>>Dougal & Mickey Skeedale - Zurich

Ha ha. Where do you live out of interest?
Do you mix, Matt? Why not put together a heavily piano-themed mix? Or even Stu, for that matter? Or anyone at all actually lol

In The Moment is a great tune. I have actually been listening to that a lot over the last few days. I think Hardcore Underground 3 was my favourite. That said, I haven't heard any of the 2010 edition - since I'm out here in Asia.
Danse Macabre is alright, but a little bit hectic and less happy than I really like.
Jay-Nitro
couple more golden oldies I dropped on saturday night that went down a treat!
force & styles - all systems go
force & styles - frankies lead

Have you listened to my posted tracks seriously?
OK, in "Next 2 Me" they use pianos during the breaks only.
The same counts for "Das Modul - 1100101".
"Scooter - Friends" (the Album, not the Single Version) & "Mark'Oh - Love Song" only use a strong piano for the intro. You are right about that. I just have reduced both songs to this part in my memory.
Off-topic: Of course it must be named as "Raver's Nature - Bring Me Noise"
JayHH86
Thanks again for all the suggestions, people.
Can I ask, though, what does the fiery folder icon mean next to this topic? - Ignore that, just seen the key. Noob.

Yeah none of that Euro stuff is any good to be honest, it's just pop cheese. If you want real piano's you have to be listening to UK or Italian stuff.
yeah alot of the euro stuff is cheesey but I still like bits and bobs of it. the italian stuff strikes a chord with me though alot of its my earliest memories of raving before the faster hardcore came about.
heres a couple of mixes not sure I have posted them on here as I thought nobody would like that style!

I don't know, how many of you were interessted in to the cartoon series of "Sailor Moon". In Germany we used a sweet and chessy HHC-soundtrack for it with a strong piano for a couple of years.
another golden oldie if your is cyclone tracy - piano in trance....nice!
_Jay_
I just came across this tune on the iTunes on my old PC. I had it on there from a compilation album called Hardcore 2007: The New Generation, produced by Helter Skelter.
Truly orgasmic.

Meh, poor man's old skool!
By an almighty coincidence though, just happened to be listening to your mix right at the point where Fracus - Next to me was playing. There's some SERIOUS piano going on there!

As you well know, Old Skool is not my strong suit. Clueless. You can't deny that's not a likable tune though?
Yeah, Jesus! Amazing track isn't it!

It is mate. Nothing wrong with it, just doesn't do anything different (or better) than i've heard a lot of times a lot of years ago. Old age has it's advantages sometimes!

Everytime I go to my friend's workplace he's constantly playing that Blunted Final Fantasy remix you did. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Makes me really nostalgic as well and annoys me that I couldn't get into Final Fantasy's combat system enough to be a mega-fan of the franchise.

I have never played final fantasy - even though I sampled the music. I find those games way too annoying, they always want me to try and work things out. All I want to do is kill things lol.
I recently got given Skyrim. It starts off where your hands are tied. I didnt get past that bit, I was bored within 3 minutes.
Now, give me a gun and some zombies, and I am away....
