DJ Superman im gonna start mixing when my decks arrive in the next few days and a few people have said to but two copies of the same record so i can get used to beat mixing without having to worry bout different BPM's for a while. does anyone think this is worth it?getting 2 records'll cost about £15 with postage etc.!! dont wanna waste me cash

whizz-billy-the-kid's got you in his sights
Shade0 to be honest i started with a copy of pcdj and some mp3's. learnt the principles and when i finally touched a deck it was easy. Im not pretending to be good, but it will come to you really quick as long as you can feel the music

Chris.SHADE
Brian K don't buy two of the same record, just buy records that are within the same bpm...unless you're planning on doing some nifty spinback and juggling tricks i wouldn't waste my money.

"we'll delete the weak"
Menion No dont! Buy two raver baby releases or two blatant beats releases instead, thats easy enough.

Seany Yeah blatant beats are pretty easy eg Cubic 99 & Mentamision have exactly the same BPM and are great tunes .

DJ Superman cool, thanks for the advice guys! now all i gotta do is try and find the bloody things on the net are there many places other than the shop on this site and imorecords.com to get hold of vinyl? i cant even find "you're shining" and i'd have thought that'd b everywhere...

whizz-billy-the-kid's got you in his sights
KID_PIRAHNA Alot of Evolution records share the same BPM....look at me pimpin' out Evo recs....L L! And don't be scared of the tables, man. When I first got mine I was afraid my mixing would suck.....and it did......but stay persistent and within a couple weeks......you'll feel it. Warning! This usually leads to buying more records. But it's definitely not necessary to buy 2 of the same tracks.

WANTED!
more hardcore in Kansas City
DJ Superman thanks mate! i'd be buying loads of vinyl if i could find any of it guess that's the problem everyone's got though cos of the size of the scene......

whizz-billy-the-kid's got you in his sights
Tricky AB Yeah...a lot of the Evolution records have the same BPM and are easy to mix into each other...

pre whoever suggested buying two of the same vinyl for mixing benefits is truly lame..

for the easiest mixing by labels, its best too go for blatant beats & essential platinum..

plus make sure you have the correct calibration on the decks, that helps..

pre...

SEEKY you could try it with two of the same record if your mate has the same one if he does not have any you have don't bother

Es , SPEED , TRIPS AND BLOW HERE WE ****ING GO!
DJDarkside I found your're shining hard 2 get hold of at first but when i saw it it the store i had to snap it up straight away i started mixing using a computer and mp3s and now am on decks and once u've mixed a tune once it should just get easier.

StrifeII shouldn't, you'll probably pick up the concept within 30 minutes and you'll never play them again. unless its a REALLY mint tune like unlock ya brain and it DESERVES to have two copies bought :D

I know how you feel, everytime my 'either hardcore or anime' order gets delayed, i get mad... really mad! Also cunsomer office takin my package and wanting their 22% "VAT" share, makes me want to break something.
