Sup people, i was just told something. I asked my mate who spins Hardcore, why a lot of the DJ's have 3 decks, he said one is for scratchin, is it? also, what are the best carts for scratchin with, coz the ones i got now are bog-standard, and Crap to say the least???

i use 3 decks,more for 3 deck mixing than scratching on top of a mix.
i dunno what carts are best but i haven't had any problems with my stanton 505 sk carts

Try the Ortofon Scratch Cartridge or the Shure M44-7.

Im using stanton Craze 520sk's and ive had NO problems at all with them. Not much skipping and nice sound. They arn't too much either (about 30 quid)

Three decks are not always for scratching, if I have three decks I will mix in two tracks on the other two not currently playing and have two tracks to choose from to mix into or screw around with peoples heads by starting to mix into one of the records and then actually mixing into the other... hehe

lol i do that sometimes silver. try dropping all 3 in at once tho,it's difficult but get it right and it sounds ace!

the trick is to get the pitch absolutely perfect one one tune you're mixing,coz that way when the beats go out you know which one it is.
think there's 1 or 2 three deck mixes on that mix i'm sending (i don't do them very often)
