When Rankin did a remix of Scott Brown's Fly With You it brought tears to my eyes... such a horrid massacre of a classic hardcore song. I've been learning to DJ for a few months and I can remix better than him!

he links to this site in his top links section. i think he is dumb, but people seem to like him. he makes shitty bootlegs, but on his site he takes no credit for them. alot of people make bootlegs, alot of people make shitty mixes, i know i've been guilty of that, but i dont really see why this guy gets all this abuse, i guess bad attention is still attention right?

Why dont you guys collect tracks he got on his site, get the originals, find out who's DNSing the server aswell as the domain, tell them that djrankin is sharing licensed material on his site that he DOES NOT OWN. That's against international copyright law and can get him of the net, if he does not remove them

The people that listen to DJ Rankin's "mixes" are newbies to dance music, they usually like the bit more cheesier stuff, anthems etc. from genres like Happy Hardcore, UK Hardcore (Raver Baby type of stuff), Eurodance, Eurotrance etc, they dont like the whole genres, just the certain type of tracks. But those genres combined make a huge amount of music, witch makes it rather hard for them to find the good ones. They dont know many artists, or anything like that. DJ Rankin takes all the tunes they like and put it in the same place with the same name, so basicly hes telling them what is the good stuff. These people almoust never care how a track is mixed etc. If Rankin only added radio edits with 1 sec fade to another tune, they would still like it. Thats why hes popular. For the same reason e.g. Anabolic Frolic is so popular, eventhough there are so many that are better DJ's then him. They play what these people want to hear.
Some of you said that your little sister, brother or whatever likes Rankin, dont say its shit. Instead make a mix to them that contains anthem tracks :) Actually play the Bang! album to them, and see if they like it. Teach them how to find these tracks, so they dont have to relay to "DJ's" like Rankin.
