Right boys and girls,
time for your resident Jester to shed some jewels of wisdom on you all once more.
Myself and DMS have recently had a bit of a discussion about raving habits and the limits behind when we can and cannot go to events.
we unanimously agreed that it is high time we did something about it.
it seems to me in my personal circumstances that the main reason that i so rarely decide to go to as many events i would like is down to pure and simple lack of a group of even a couple of people to go with.
Living in central london and working as much as i do, i do not have time to go out to raves and just look to make up a group of mates with people i find at raves, so DMS and myself have had a bit of a notion that; if enough people are enthusiastic enough about this proposal.
We will arrange a time and a place whether it be to a proper rave up or even a pub to meet and greet and discuss things, the lot of us that like the idea will get together and form a bit of a group and in future go to raves together.
Now chances are this will totally go to shit, but if all of us decide to make a bit of a concerted effort i have no doubts that a few of us will be able to muster together and go out on a big night out - once we've done it once and it goes well it'll just get easier and people will feel more comfortable to do so; for this reason as well i propose that the bigger the group, the better it will be.
this is just a prenuptual here folks so let me know what you think of this idea and if it seems enough people are interested, we might get a little something going. who knows? could turn out to be some great rave nights out in future.
gimme some feedback guys!!! :D:D:D:D:D
Jester ;)

First of all wicked ideas guys think its the perfect oppertunity if you havent got mates to share your passion with... now to my status..
Im only 16.. so traveling on my own to meet a bunch of people i dont really know is a bit daunting... and im sure my mother wouldnt like the idea and i never lie to her... if i was older id totally be up for it as none of my mates would really go.. the only so called rave round my area is "deka dance/ Distruxshon" at Doncaster Dome, which ive hurd is oozing with chavs and EVERYONE there is on E which isnt my style, well not yet anyway. Ive been asked to go plenty of times but never really had the balls.
Say you guys do this in a coupla years time, you can count me there!

well if this is a success, who knows, it might still be goin on for a few years, and in fact by then it may have gotten itself a reputation of safety encouraging people to come along.

best of luck to you with that.
I can find any person to hit up a rap, rock, and even country concert. But let me mention the word 'rave' to someone and i get this lame blank stare.
Im still saving up some money to go to your neck of the woods to check out a banging highly DJ'd up rave when the time is right..hopefully if your idea takes off ill be able to meet a whole bunch of you at once.
Breasts', The Breakfast of Champions.

This has the potential to be something quite exciting if you ask me.
I've been to a fair few events that have 'official' meet up's but all you get is people who already know each other getting together and the 'new' people stuck on their own around the edges!
There's no risk involved as any meet up would be based around an event that people would be likely to attend - and a lot of people who might not bother attending events where they'd feel alone or out of place could be more willing to go if there are other, like minded ravers to meet up with.
I, for one am well up for this and looking forward to meeting some of the HH.com crew

yes an issue with safety that i'd like to touch bases with as well is that i'm sure for some of the slightly younger ravers that haven't been to raves and won't be up for the travelling and going out with a group of people just from the forums.
i suggest an initial meet up. at a time during the day maybe a week or so before our first event so that people can see each other in the flesh learn a bit more about them and get a sense of the group where they can also bring along mates for added security if they feel unsure.
the last thing any of us wants is for anyone to feel intimidated but this has potential of being a fantastic night out so doing this i think will put minds at rest and leave people more assured for future excursions.

lovin the adaptation
in all seriousness though folks and i'm sure you'll all agree this has potential of being a good night but should there be any problems; the distances that people may have to travel may cause concern so i think it would be wise to cover this as well so that people are put at ease first.
i am very eager and keen to put this into action and i think if you are ever serious about anything you really have to cover all the angles and plan it and thats why i am saying all this. anyone who has any suggestions please feel free to add.
the more people that work together in arranging this, the better the event will be, and the more confident people will feel abuot attending it.

Such a simple idea (naturally, as we're both stupid) but so easy to put into action.
Personally, i'm willing to travel anywhere in the country (or the UK for that matter) to try this out - no event too far
Naturally, people will have limited time/resources/enthusiasm(!) etc. but anybody who has considered an event but decided against it for whatever reason now has the chance to go for it.
All i ask is that people are patient until we manage to get something together. Then, who knows....

Diz seems to have quite a poor reputation but i've always enjoyed their events. You should go when you get a chance

in the running up to this taking place, i suggest all those of you with interest in this project post in this topic the general areas you are in. as you read through, contact those in a similar area to you and travel together; aside from anything else it'll be alot easier to travel in a group than by yourself.
if some of you have transport and are nearby to others and are willing to do a bit of a shuttle run for your area that will be good.
personally i don't have any form of suitable transport but i am more than happy to take any measure to support and see this through. i will be happy to take a train by myself to wherever this starts up because i truly believe once the first time has gone through and been a success, each time after that will be easier and people will have the confidence to come along.

Yeah wicked idea... this was the entire reasoning behind creating the "attending" flags for the events on the site....
it's all hardcore.

i just think it makes a lot more sense for someone to just take it by the balls and just organise it. i think it will work A LOT more efficiently if someone actually helps to organise it from one point rather than people mulling together at once as it will make it more of an event that people can just come along to.
all we need is for someone with bigger contacts to publicise it *cough* silver *cough*

Gd idea jester mate think a lotta people'll really appreciate it, other sites do this sort of thing and sure nights out's be quality. Theres quite a few of my mates go ravin but would always like to meet some of the folks off here i've not met out already.
I'm livin in hemel hempstead at minute which is bout half an hours train from euston but mosta my ravin mates are from essex. Can travel to pretty much anywhere depending on work etc. I'm goin to uproar event on saturday so i'l check out the fliers for there next event after that. might be a gd startin point as supposed to be massive, and somewhere in midlands so not difficult to get to for a lotta folks.
All the best with with this anyway i'l keep watchin the topic cos do think it's a really gd idea and always get a crackin laugh wi folks on this site, would defo like to meet a lot more for nights out.
And also a lot of respect for tryin to get the ball rollin on this cos will defo help a lot of others than jus yourselves if there nervous about startin raving as some people are, hope means a few people can get some of the memories we've got instead of lettin it pass them by.
Venga familia!!!
