No, I don't care much for stuff like that. Your just getting into a track and it gets mixed out straight away. I prefare the older style of hardcore mixing like they used to do on the 90's CD's.

Yeah, playing all of the track and maybe mixing just the beats for a bit rather than tune after tune after tune. It gives you a bit of down time between tracks, also lets you hear most of the track.

Quick mixing is fine if the tracks lend themselves to be used in this way. If not it can sound rubbish.

If you listen to Hixxy mixes from around 98, he does this, and it works well! :)

Agreed.

I do it occasionally - can be fun.

Also good mixing practice

One reason why I love Happy 2 B Hardcore chapter 1 as it is nothing but beats between tracks! I love the breaks and hard kicks messed up together, no other CD I own really does it, in other words- Classic Hardcore mixing!!!

I did consider fielding this one myself, but perhaps it is best left to the master.

i like hardcore sets to bang hard all the way thru.. with little or no breaks, other then those structured into the song themselves... mixin fast is good for that, tho it means the mixing's bound to no be quite so tight.. but its still good fun every now an then..
will post a link to my mix i'm referring to an u guys can lemme no what u think...

It's OK providing tracks that work well are used. I do hate it on new CD's with tracks I've not heard because I want to hear the whole thing.

Room for another one on the couch?

You can cram lots of tunes into one mix, and still include 90% of the tune (check my bootleg mix in the other genre forum - 27 tunes in 1 hour 1minute - well, kind of!).

For me it is all about the mix though. Any idiot with 2 decks and the ability to hear how fast something is going is capable of playing tunes back to back, fading in slowly between them (even I can for crying out loud!). For a DJ to be an artist rather than just a DJ he has to do something special in my book - something which I'm working on!
