the electoral college system in an undemocratic relic instigated by the founding fathers to prevent "mob rule," fearing the publics ignorance would create a demagogue if a truly democtratic system were put in place. technically america therefore isnt the greatest democracy in the world. it isnt a democracy at all.

rezzna: Agreed. True democracy is government by the people where everyone has an equal say. The US is more of a republic where we're "represented" by the people who we "chose" to make decisions for us. Another argument aside from the ignorant thing is that American's are also lazy and don't feel they have the time to make political decisions. Anyway, nice work with the research, looks like we wouldn't have been any worse off if we would've stayed an imperial satillite of your country, yeah?
