In the next week or so it's been 16 years since this happened. WOW!! Time has just flown by. In the back of my mind this still seems relatively new, but sadly the music and genre have changed. Who remembers this then? Who stayed up and listened to it live? I don't think it was broadcast particauly late. If I recall it was from 23:00 to 01:00. ???

The genre was really reaching it's peak around then. 2004 was such a great year for UK Hardcore. At this point we were only weeks away from Bonkers 12.

16 years ago I was 16...

I was drinking WKD Blue on park benches charming what ever cute girls happened to be hanging with us each day.

16 years later I am 32 and drinking Innocent Summer Fruits charming what ever cute woman who happens to be popping up on Twitter this week.

2004 was a cool year for Hardcore though!

I remember driving up to the record shop every Saturday with my Mrs and buying records and tape packs.


Getting the first HTID pack the week after the event and the weather was nice. Good times!

Yes recorded it on tape! Found the tape, I've got 19.03.04 written on the tape details. I've also got a Hixxy mix on the same tape from 2 days before that which he did on Radio 1.

Find it difficult to listen to live broadcasts, or events/live sets from that time. Such a great time for the music and in my life generally. Not that Im unhappy now, but it genuinely feels like Im mourning my own death. Nostalgia is such a weird feeling.

Didn't listen to this show, but I remember this time in hardcore vividly, as its my birthday today, 16 years ago I was 18, and me and a few mates went down to Belfast for the day, picked up bonkers 12 when I was down there, train home straight into my mates kitchen, tunes on, beers in hand, good times!
