Just listenin to storm on the NYE tape pack, hes goin on about the seen bein back on track now especially with 2003 in mind.
Only thing is i read these posts & so many people (in our own seen) have the doom and gloom on, knocking every advance the seen makes statin it will either kill the seen or attract the wrong people.
The DJ's are trying to legitimise the licensing, more events appering, bigger crowds, a tv chanel showing interest, more and more labels with more dj's and mc's mags wrightin columbs, etc. etc.
I know its easy to see the darker side of things as we all do from time to time but im truly excited by what is happening, especially with Rapture and wernt Tidy Trax on with something to do with hardcore.
In truth things seem to be lookin up, do they not? Id like To know about actual sales figures etc if anbody has any insight on how the labels are actually doin?
oh s*it man, what was i saying?

dont know about any of the label's finances....
but i agree, there's nothing wrong with the scene at the moment, it's not going to die.

i'm really happy with what's going on. it's easy to look at the scene and complain that it's changing and that popularity will destroy it etc. but i think music scenes are constantly evolving and in my opinion hardcore seems to be on the up. how can you complain when you can walk into any shop in town and buy hardcore result!

I really don't understand how anyone can see the bad side to it, i was very surprised to see people posting negative things about the scene, not only is there nothing wrong with the scene, but totally the oposite, it's as big as it's ever been. I honestly have no idea how anyone can say the scene is getting worse, it would have made sense back in 2001, but definately, definately not now. It's getting better and better rapidly, and has been doing since the start of 2002 :)

I would guess that there is a lot more money going into the scene these days, especially as (to some peoples horror) there is a lot of popular not at all underground stuff coming out of the scene and landing on yer shelves inm hmv and the likes - so its not the HARDEST hardcore but its putting money in where its needed and hopefully the DJs will maintain a variety and not coast into trance... I'll say it for the upteenth time - people moaned when happy hardcore evolved from 'Old Skool' and now they'll moan to see this new breed of hardcore develop, but if you want the scene to stay alive you have to support it whatever happens....

i think the scene is doing really well. I think there are some that dont like it because they are against the commercial side of music but to be honest i think it can only be good for the music. If people dont like the changing styles they should be out there making there own music.
