As you will all probably of noticed it says on news that bonkers 12 will be a 4 cd pack with the 4th cd mixed by breeze & styles (dunno if this is 100% confirmed and accurate!?!).

What is the point in that that? what is Hixxy gonna play if he can't play all the B&S stuff, what are they gonna play? how slow and commercial is their mix gonna be?

As you can tell imo this is a bit of a pointless exercise and there are many more suitable dj's that could do it. I'm not the biggest fan of breakbeat hardcore but i'd prefer that to a B&S mix. BB hardcore needs some exposure B&S don't.

Why, why, why....

Why?

Because they can!

I'm all for up & coming artists and DJ's getting a chance but it's not up to them is it?

If React want a commercially successful package they have to go with what they think will be best. We always hear from people who want the lesser known talent to appear on compilations but i can guarantee there are far more people who'd prefer the big names.

Sharkey has already said that his mix will feature a lot of variety so while the people mixing the tunes might not be to everyone's taste, the artists and labels featured will be wide and varied.

The lesser known producers/labels are getting their tunes featured on a massive compilation and THAT is what will do the most to showcase their talent - not doing a 'mix' (that's mix in the broadest sense of the word) featuring loads of other peoples tunes.

Do be a successful DJ these days, it seems you need to be a producer too and that's where recognition is gained.

I'd much rather see artists like Lee UHF/Scott Majestik/Oli G etc etc featured as producers than DJ's - and labels like Camel/RFU/Higher order/Bedlam/Phase4 (you get the idea) will get a lot more exposure if the have tunes on these compilations.

So not the end of the world really is it?

HI THERE,

I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOURE TALKING ABOUT BUT I THINK THE FIRST MESSAGE WAS RIGHT, WHAT IS THE POINT IN HAVING HIXXY, STYLES AND BREEZE, WHO ALL BELONG TO THE SAME LABEL. HIXXY,FINE, BREEZE AND STYLES,NO WAY, I DONT KNOW IF ANYONE HAS NOTICED BUT THE DUO ARE BECOMING VERY, VERY COMMERCIAL NOW ADAYS, WHICH COULD DESTROY THE "UNDERGROUND" FEEL OF HARDCORE AND THE RUSH YOU GET BY HAVING THE TUNES THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS HEARD OF. I MEAN PLAYING TUNES LIKE SUCK MY DICK ETC IS WAY OFF THE MARK, THESE TUNES BELONG TO THE EVER SO CRAP CLUBLAND ALBUMS AND THE POP CHARTS, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE UNDERGROUND TRANCEY FEEL OF BREEZE AND THE HAPPY HARDCORE SOUND OF STYLES OR FORCE&STYLES, THEY BOTH PLAY EXACTLY THE SAME SETS AT EVENTS NOW AND IS TAKING THE SEEN NO WHERE. AS FOR THE DJS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE FOURTH CD, WHAT ABOUT THE LIKES OF SY OR DOUGAL, OR EVEN A TECHNO DJ TO WIDEN THE VARIETY

THEY HAVE NO IDEAS NOWADAYS, BRING BACK CLARKEE!!!!!

I agree with you DMS.

My real point is why 3 raver baby dj's? is there enough of the raverbaby sound to go around or will it be full of remix's of old hardcore tunes and commercial 'radio' trance shoved up to hardcore speed.

Imo this is not 'good' hardcore and react are shooting themselves in the foot.

Perhaps Hixxy will pull out the bangin mix we all know he's capable of and this post will have been in vain... *crosses fingers*

yep I agree and I should be speaking here for the true hardcore die-hard lovers here (not the people that just come this site cause they are interested a bit) there is absoloutly no point in having Breeze and styles on there if hixxy is on there too... react are being real crap now! they should die to be honest!

I hope bonkers 12 isn't gonna be Bonkers 11 part 2(which I didn't buy hehehe! I don't waste my money mates!)
We are all fed up of the Trance'y hardcore... ok I'm not saying it's rubbish... I personaly liked the idea of having hardcore a bit more trance'y but now it's become like another 1997 - everything sounding the same - needs to move on! Bonker's isn't doing this yet!

If hardcore survive's - it's because it changes/evolves and doesn't jump up to the surface often (ie... overground)

ah...your avatar is CRAZY...

and I have no problem with the addition of breeze & styles...Just as long as I don't hear the same song twice I'm cool with it...and who's to say that they don't have something new/good for us?!?!?

Hmm. How about just not buy it if you don't think you will like it? Besides, the music industry goes through phases. This is a peak for trancy hardcore. Pretty soon there will be a new flavour for all of us to get tired of . I say go buy some records and make your own mix.

^Thats not really the point :)...Anyway when you buy Bonkers your buying all the disks in the pack..And the B & S one will be in this one ,So dont say "dont buy it if you dont like it" I'll be buying it for the other disks...Hopefully B & S wont put the exact same tracks on as "USH3" and Bonkers 11(I doubt that 1)...Hopefully they will have something new :)

i think they'll be well aware of the situation and will come up with some different tunes for the occasion ....... anyone with the knowledge of how these things work know when abouts we could expect a track listing? is it just a few weeks before the release or much longer?

I understand the concept of the Bonkers series. The idea was that if you felt you wouldnt enjoy the product then don't purchase it. If you didn't like one of the CDs then you gotta decided if its worth your cash. Thats what I was getting at.

well, i didnt wanna say it myself, but yeah, to begin with the breeze & styles thing was cool, but now its all getting a little raverbaby (ie: repetative) (ohhh i do apologise but sooooo true!) and hixxys sets (CD sets i have to say, not so much at events) are all too comercial for my liking... yes so they like the taste of money but really where do you draw the line between 'hardcore' and pop music?! im dreading the day i walk past a kiddies disco and hear em pumping out a hixxy cd!!! Cos it might just happen!

React is basically looking to make money by getting Bonkers out to the masses but well at the end of the day they have always sold no matter what (ie: gold n silver editions!) so why make it all toooooooooo commercial? ah well im waffling on now....

I say........... let B&S make their own nucleuz cds or summin, let hixxy pump out all the raver baby he wants (and sure as hell he wont stop) and put summin decent and varied on bonkers!!! (I vote Sy/Dougal/Gammer)
