exactly my point and it gets worse.

bonkers isn't bonkers any more. bar sharkey's mix it's a raver baby/evolution album.

i'd say this to the producers of bonkers. keep scott brown's and hixxy's and b+s tunes for their own albums like htid and hardcorevolution, there was a time when bonkers plugged the best tunes out there and not hixxy's latest masterpiece that he can't even get released till ithey're played to death. f**kin makes me sick, even stopped buying them. now that's sayin something

Mouse, I think you are thinking what I am thinking.... I actually like Scott Brown's Evo stuff , but a lot of the tracks appear to sound the same, I used to buy loads of Evolution releases, but now if you own one Evolution release you own them all. The track title will very likely have the word hardcore in it somewhere, it will feature rap samples, it will feature a breakdown that samples a obscure europop track or some piano loop.

I mostly buy Nu-Energy stuff now, there's a lot more variation. Don't mention Raver Baby.... Well it's definitely not my style at all.

Mouse you are right, what is the point of releasing something when everyone has already got bored of it? Didn't You're Shining appear on bonkers 8 , about 6 months or more before it was available to the general public on vinyl? It's ****ing terrible marketing by Raver Baby if you ask me.

As for the Bonkers CD sets
I thought Hixxy's set on Bonkers 8 was amazing, but I haven't enjoyed 9 & 10 anywhere near as much. Too much pop cheese for my liking. Hixxy, Breeze and Styles are probably just as well known as some popstars, gangsta rappers and r'n'b slappers among the chav peasant underclass.
I still haven't bought 11 yet, I'm skint. (How ironic, when you look at the comment I made before.)

Sharkey's sets are always amazing, bring on the new members of the Nu-Energy Collective for 12! And it is still a good thing that Scott Brown's sets have a gabba section at the end. And I can actually enjoy Scott Brown's sets unless it's the gabba section when I am suffering from a bad headache or something. Great , when you are in an angry mood though.

For the 4th cd, A next-generation/blatant beats cd ( we have raver baby, nu energy collective, and evolution on bonkers, a cd dominated by a different label would make it seem that little more varied.) by brisk and ham would be good, but they've already produced their own cd , so it's a lost cause.
Sy's Nu Skool sets are one of the best things going on right now in my opinion (anyone heard the magna 7 set?) but he's probably signed to MoS.

**** it, Breeze and Styles look as though they are signed, and I'll have to put up with it!

I say keep em coming!

if they didn't then pretty much every1 would say... oh I'm P1$$ed off that Bonkers has stopped doing as many releases... can't get to hear a good album unless I get a tape pack but I want bonkers back... blah blah etc. etc.

plus at the end of the day its all good 'n' new and most importantly bonkers is part of our scene.

but imo I think that there should be 3 - 4 CD's all with slightly different styles of hardcore on them (whoeva the DJs are - as long as its top DJs)

A joint mix with hixxy, breeze & styles wud hav bn more ideal with a fourth mix by Sy or UFO or summin, or ooooooh hixxy & UFO on the same mix....interesting prospect! how about a live mix for the fourth CD even? that wud b pretty sweet...with plenty MC'ing-Wizzkid style!

I think MCing would spoil the bonkers albums...

I believe that if its a live set its a live set and if its an album compliation then it should be just that without the MC etc.. I can't really explain what I mean here can ne1 see what I mean.

Personally, there should be more variety. Its true that they seem like EV/RB albums and its getting to the point where its flogging a dead horse.

Sharkeys CD from Bonkers 8 - 11 has been my favourite disc because of the styles and the general spice it has.

They should really have more variety instead of teh pitched up trance (and even trance has a better release schedule....)

Producers and labels - make more tunes!! (Thats a message to me too )

I totally agree with this. I got the slammin vinyl NYE pack and their sets were almost identical. They never play any exclusives unlike scott brown whos set was full of them. Its also a ****in disgrace they play any tune that has graced the tracklistings on clublan eg. DJ Sammy and Dickheads. They have gone downhill big time and at hardcore heaven awards breezes mixing sounded like he was playin half cut and lacked any imagination.

Slammin packs? Like Tape packs? Hmm, thats a whole other topic in its self.

Maybe in the set, they knew that it was going to be recorded and ripped off, so they only played old stuff and nothing novel.

Sounds like a good idea to me, so they don't get wroughted as hard.

Jordan was replying to a quote about Breeze & Styles going downhill... read the whole thing.

i was REALLY annoyed with Breeze's & Styles' mix on SV NYF pack... And because i got the CD pack, i got their mixes together!! noooo!
"hey, i've heard this before... no, wait, it was on track 1 too thats why!"

whats with the commerciality with Breeze & Styles now then? Clubland!!!?? What are Breeze & Styles doing on Clubland!? I think they're just going towards the money... Which is sad as Styles is my fav. DJ
