Just had to get some frustration out. I have to say when recording a mix it annoys me so much when i cant play it through my stereo for one cos of the neighbours. I hate when i get 1hr in and f*** up one mix and i quit. And just now i hate gettin 30mins in a mix to find out the cable plugged into my mini disc was never plugged.

WHO ELSE GET BUGGED BY THIS CR**

i've not been mixing for long and although i can hear it out loud and through the headphones my ears aren't really trained enough yet to tell exactly how good/bad it sounds. im gonna try and sort out a way to record it so i can listen back closely and get a better idea of hw to improve. might pick up a minidisc player to do it. how much do they go for? you can record straight onto them from any output cant you?

When you make a mistake tho, you should just finish the mix.

Then later if you really want to make a perfect mix with those songs, just put them in a diff order, or try again later. You probably wont make the mixtake the 2nd time ^_^

You shouldn't just give up when you make a mess of a mix.
There can't be many people who can make a perfect mix every time and the best way to learn is by accepting your mistakes then finding ways to improve in the future. By worrying about getting every mix spot on every time you just end up putting pressure on yourself.

My best mixes are always the ones where i pull records out at random
and just go with the flow - no pressure!!
Yes, it's frustrating when you balls a mix up but just persevere and things will improve.

i know what you mean mate! the amount of time's I've done that, after a few time's its really not funny! was showing some mate's my mixing and dropped a tune in on 33 instead of 45 as well, they didn't know what I'd done but I was pissing myself guess it's all part of learning tho!

yeah, have to say when switching from scratching I've been in a right pickle at times (only seem to do it at home though not out at events)

I especially used to do it when trying to do a recorded mix (obviously only when switching them back over and cueing up, never dropped it into the mix like it though! lol)

but it will all come together shaun... you'll be able to cue up and beat match in about 10-15 seconds no worries.. keep on mixing

I tried to do some of that hyper scratch mixing like on MTV with hip hop etc dmc I think its called... what a f#ckin mess that was... now I can scratch pretty much like sy and unknown, but that dmc stuff is straight over my head!
