Yesterday there was this hour special on Ecstasy; cause earlier that day there was a huge xtc drug bust up in Canada. Anyways I had to watch! (I took notes too. haha) So of course they had to mention the rave scene and how it's 50% about Music and 50% Drugs/Ecstasy. Here are many other things they said:
-By 1993 the rave scene was practically in every state. (which I think is a good thing)
-The Godfather of Rave is Franky Bones who brought a new type of Electronic Music with speeds up to 140 bpm. (Storm Raves?)
-Ecstasy is called the "Hug" or "Love" Drug. -by the Youth Culture
-It causes permanent brain damge; causes Partisans disease and it "turns your brain into swiss cheese" (holes)
-"Dancing with Darkness" --the after effect is like a downward spiral to depression.

Yeah, well those were some things that caught my attention...

With drug info you shouldnt trust anyone. Not the users, government or any organisation. The truth is, no one knows. Everyone just assumes and use non-verified info.

I think what it all comes down to is that different drugs affect people differently, depending on the individual's metabolism, mental state ect.

True enough, the government are going to turn everyone against any recreational drug, after all they dont get tax on them like they do with alcahol, despite the fact that more people die from alcahol related illness in one year than have ever died from ecstacy.
The media just want to scare people because bad new sells more papers doesnt it!!

I think its all down to personal judgement, only you can know how a drug is reacting to you and how its affecting your life.

Hardcore is the passion of the chosen....

i saw said special as well, as it was refreshing to see a report that didn't quickly take an "all raves are bad always" approach..

storm raves were the first rave like parties in the north east in america, i'd agree that franky bones was one of the first americans to support this scene..

while they said that government funded reports and campaigns against the drug said brain damage was inevitable, and that a single use could cause parkinsons, they also had views from leading scientists, who said these reports were pure fiction, even laughable. they were saying that if the government kept putting out these lies, how can a country have faith in them anymore?

they did showed positive sides, and negative sides, which a good report should do.. i thought it was an interesting watch

i dident see this special or w-e it was but i think the whole point about it being 50% about drugs isnt right at all. I kno alot of people who go to these and none take drugs. The government lies way to much just so they can try to keep us "in control"

the 50:50 ratio was more of a random comment within the show, not really a point.

in order to everdose on E, you have to take like 60 pills (the LD50 is something like 50-90mg/kg) which would just be retarded. talk about going out in a big way (on the discovery channel none the less)

Beer causes permanent brain damage.

Smoking causes permanent cancer.

Eatting fatty food gives you permanent heart attacks.

Anything you do makes you die quicker.
