I got into hardcore when i was like 8 when i listened to ReZurection & Helter Skelter i have never hated the music but people who buy Clubland get no chance to listen to Hardcore and thats the annoying thing they show a Now 57 advert 3000000 times a day where as maybe Bonkers 1nce a day that aint fair

To me Hardcore isnt even fast apart from Gabber but take Brisk & Ham - Crazy Love to me thats just a kick ass tune i don't see it as Hardcore i see it as amazing

I dont personally like comercial dance at all but some do.

I know some of my friends actually prefer originals of f&s and other tracks that have been re-released by ultra beat, flip and fill etc.

Never have been as bored of a topic in ages, feck it, the origional([pissed can't spell so fuk off ) artists are getting a couple extra bob off a tune they prob would have neber made any decent cash off so every 1 wins.;

Sick of this shite every time a remix comes along.

lock it..............

Seriously tho, what happened to when people made music because they love music? Do they need RECOGNITION or MONEY? In my oppinion, no. They make music cuz they love it. And covering a song is a huge form of flattery, it obviously means the artist who covered it really liked it, and wanted to put their own spin on it. So who cares if a song gets covered? There isn't anything we can do about it.

there just isnt enough adverts for hardcore, Scott Brown amazing tunes would no doubt sell take, Blue Anthem for instance if there was and advert for that single (ON CD) people would by it even if they didnt like gabber they would still like P System, when we walk into HMV,Virgin Megastore we don't see HTID on the shelve we see Clubland, Kiss Hot Joints, R"n" B Essentials 2 or something like that but hopefully introducing Breeze & Styles to Bonkers will increase the Hardcore population

This makes the most sense i have ever said in my life

Hmmmmmm how come? I know loads of people who are essentially commercial dance heads who also listen to hardcore.

And as for Hardcore not getting as much exposure..... sure there aren't as many adverts for (for instance) bonkers as there would be for Clubland CDs, but thats because TV advertising costs an absolute fortune!!! However, every single HMV store I have been in in the past 12 months (Preston, Manchester Market Street, London Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Manchester Trafford center, Manchester picadilly plus probably a few more) have had an actual hardcore section in their compilations (its not just been taggged onto old school or hard dance etc)...... this has probably been about the same size as the dance/trance section (maybe a little smaller but not much)
also, as I seem to recall, all the recent Bonkers CDs have been in the new release section, and have made it into the compilation charts (11 was the highest place, but please correct me if I'm wrong). Raverbaby releases outsell alot of the more "commercial" labels such as Pete Tong's Label(s) (on a release by release basis) (Source: Jon Doe's recent Radio 1 campaign). Speaking of which, I am sure you will be aware that Hardcore is once more getting played out on Radio 1, Rapture TV is going to be dedicating alot of time to Hardcore and there is a hardcore event in every major city in the UK.... so where exactly are you getting the idea that people don't get a chance to listen to hardcore?

The fact is that if people choose not to go out of their way to listen to Hardcore then that is their own choice.

Another thing I want to talk about is your argument (and also alot of other people's arguments) about commercial artists "stealing" hardcore songs..... to hear this coming from the mouth of a raver astounds me! All I can say is I hope that your music collection only includes original hardcore songs, and no hardcore rips/covers...... as has already been pointed out, they are not stolen, everything has gone throught the proper legal channels and nobody has been ripped off...... can hardcore hold its head up high and say the same thing? In a word NO!

This whole argument has gone on way too long. The only thing it is doing is damaging the hardcore scene by giving people the impression that we are bitter, elitest, hypocritical individuals who think we are better than everybody else. My feeling on this whole matter is that all those who are slagging off the commercial scene should get down off their high horses and show the commercial (and all the other scenes) what Hardcore is all about, and thats Peace, Love, Unity RESPECT! To be honest I have seen far much more PLUR from the commercial side of late I am ashamed to say!

Anyway, rant over..... sorry if I have gone off on one, but this whole argument really cheeses me off.... makes me ashamed to be a raver (and that takes some doing!)

You want to come down South mate Half the shop is Dance in both my local HMV's.......it cracks me up though because the Dance section covers trance, dance, hardcore, drum & bass, EBM, even some hip-hop!!!

It just makes me laugh, I wish they'd split it up a bit!!!!

Got 2 agree with the mole. It does my f**kin head in when people go on out about, " have you heard this new tune, its well good." and i'm like " heard it years ago you commercial dance freak. It's HARDCORE!" Flip & Fill should of thought of some original ideas. Their success is down to all the hardcore tunes they've used, but they won't put the original on the single will they?! If they did that, evry tune would be at number 1! H.T.I.D.

Why oh why can't you just accept it! I'm a raver not a f**king drug addict!

only 1 City store here has a hardcore section, but you know what?
Instead of going in the other stores, looking around then going to the Hardcore section. They go straight into the Store that sells hardcore.
There for the other Store looses out on other possable sales. Just like if a Petrol station didnt sell lollies on its counter.

Hardcore samples artist as well, ever heard that song "castles"? well Hixxy and UFO didnt make the orginal.......

i know of the tune without a commercial, and i'm not going to buy it.

there's just not enough interest and money in hardcore to promote it as extensively as you describe. you see r'n'b cd on the shelf, because the public demands r'n'b cds.. so the labels supply it. the supply of hardcore cd's fits the demand as well.

God this is getting sooooooooooo BORING !!Most people don't listen to hardcore COS THEY DONT LIKE IT !!! And I agree with them...most of the stuff labels churn out is SH*TE to fill up albums like Bonkers ! and the production quality of hardcore is a MILLION miles away from good trance tunez.
Hardcore needs a kick up the ass and be as "interesting" as most dance tracks then people might listen to it.Hardcore is stagnating like jungle did years ago same beatz same old crap <yawn> ZZzzzzzzzz
Some hardcore artists have been around for FAR TOO LONG, Hardcore til u die maybe but not LITERALLY.
