What is up with raver baby slightly remixing tracks before they release them? For example baby021.. hardcore doesnt sound like the one on Bonkers X. IT SOUNDS LIKE GARBAGE! Sup with that? Also very poor pressing, my friend got a really bad copy with the label glued on the wrong side! I pay a lot of money in US DOLLARS to import this shit. Can we pick up the quality please?

Also whats up with scott brown adding really crappy vocals to his songs right before he releases them? I.e. Make the beat drop, life or death (ENYA?!??!?!?!?!?) ?

I picked this genre because it is hardcore not vocal trance or pop! At least include the non vocal track on the record or release the non vocal track on another release man because I aint buying that crap. I spend like $130 for 10 vinyls every month for what? I'm not trying to start shit.. believe me I worship Hixxy and Scott Brown .. but trying to wake people up to somethings that could make this genre more friendly for people like me that are starting out. I'm not cool enough to be one of those dj's that can just walk up to Scott Brown and just say "Hey m8 hook me up with this version of that track" and get it for free. So PLEASE guys if you're gunna butcher your song to make it more commercial please please please include the original! That way you wouldn't have lost my money on baby21 , ev69 and others. Thanks.

Dude! I think I speak for everyone when I say, if you don't like a song don't buy it!! I honestly don't know why people complain about wasting money on tracks they hate! What's the point? It's your fault you bought it, not the artists fault!

Also, please tell me how the released Hardcore sounds different than the Bonkers X version. I guess I just don't see what everyone is complaining about!

djnobody, huh - yeah I guess its in the name.

Nobody forces you to spend you precious pocket money on vinyl.

Why not do a version yourself? If you don't like the tunes you buy, write better ones. I mean since you are paying so much money...

Why do you buy your tunes without listening to them?? I mean thats what it sounds like. You just order some random tunes over the net with out a clue of what it is?

If you aren't a cool dj, what makes you think you deserve vocal free promos??

Scott Brown is kicking some serious ass. I have never heard of you before...

I do agree that the new Hardcore does sound terrible, but if you don't like it don't buy it

take into account, what you hear online is only a sample of the song, those vocals are already in it. while some might turn your head a bit, it's different, and it works out well. and with the vocals, that is the original, so there is no previous cut to release

Yeah the labels are screwed... I guess you either have delays or crappy labels... this time we had both :)

Running a label is not easy... it's hard work Hixxy don't do these things on purpose.

Make the beat drop, Life or death (and others) had vocals right from the start - it was the Bonkers versions that were edited.

Don't know about 'Hardcore' sounding different as i'm not a fan of it to be honest.

As for your point about 'cool dj's' getting the 'best' versions of tunes - how do you think the rest of us get on with buying records?
I don't have Scott Brown & Hixxy hand delivering tailor-made, gold plated copies of their latest tracks to me months before everybody else and i manage ok!!

most of the djs take the tracks given to them and make their own remixes/edits anyway

What's with the "if you don't like it, make one better yourself"-attitude?

I've seen it alot when it comes to the hardcore community, what's wrong with giving the artists a bit of feedback?
If I was an artist I would be happy to know if people didn't like something about my tracks.

And the "don't by the vinyl if you dont like it" statement, wtf?
I havn't got my copy of BABY21 yet, but I'd be dissapointed if it wasn't the version I expected it to be. Think it's kind of rude if the artist releases an remix instead of the version everyone knows AND doesn't tell about it.

the "don't critisise the artist" athmosphere is making me sick!

Anyway, I mean no harm, just thought you went a little hard on djnobody.

peace

I have to agree with Menion here, I think your all being a little harsh.

Why change Hardcore, the bonkers version is brilliant but the released version is weak, lacks the energy and toughness of the bonkers version and has been commercialised. Why? everbody knows the bonkers version and wants that. Its so annoying, i've been waiting for this for ages now I don't even want it...

It is not described as a remix, untill I read this I figured it wasn't so cheers to dj Nobody, for saving me a fiver.

Make you own version? give me a break! I have neither the time or the money for the necessary equipment. That is a stupid suggestion imo.

"Make the beat drop, Life or death (and others) had vocals right from the start - it was the Bonkers versions that were edited. "

Why not put the bonkers version in the release too then? Is it that hard to include one more track on the record?

"Dude! I think I speak for everyone when I say, if you don't like a song don't buy it!! I honestly don't know why people complain about wasting money on tracks they hate! What's the point? It's your fault you bought it, not the artists fault!"

I didnt buy it! I'm just trying to give the artists some feedback now!

"Also, please tell me how the released Hardcore sounds different than the Bonkers X version. I guess I just don't see what everyone is complaining about!"

It's weaker. They are using different instruments.. it's just different. If you are a big fan of the song you can tell the difference.

"Why not do a version yourself? If you don't like the tunes you buy, write better ones. I mean since you are paying so much money..."

Sounds so easy, maybe everyone should do it?

"Why do you buy your tunes without listening to them?? I mean thats what it sounds like. You just order some random tunes over the net with out a clue of what it is?"

Uh no. I listen to my tunes before I buy them. If you read my post you would see that I didnt buy that crap.

"If you aren't a cool dj, what makes you think you deserve vocal free promos??"

I'm not asking for free promos. Just give us what we want on the releases not crap!

And raverdave says all the rest for me.

Like i said - the Bonkers versions were edited (most likely for copyright reasons) and the majority of people who heard those versions were screaming 'What happened to the vocals'! Personally, i prefer those tunes without vocals too but to be annoyingly correct it is the bonkers version
that has been changed from the original - not the reverse.

thats a good point, if they do a re-edit they should put both versions on, it would make it a more attractive release and please everybody who expects to get the version they've been hearing for weeks.

And as if by magic......

The vocal-free edits of Life or death and Make the beat drop are available from the new Evolution records MP3 store.
