I dont know where to post this so I will ask here. I want to buy a a CD deck (Either CDJ 800 or 1000) but I want to know if you guys get a lot of use out of it. I know that most of the stuff I see on online shops are records. So is it worth the plunge...and if so where do you usually find your CD fix I know that people get tracks on CDs first and whatnow but thats now me
I want it so I can play unlreleased stuff and whatnot...

it's a big investment, but if you're getting cds and use them enough then go for it. but if you're getting it now in hopes for things in the future i'd recommend sitting tight so prices come down and technology gets better.

I have a CDJ 800 and i can honestly say i'm not getting anywhere near my money's worth out of it.
Might be useful for if you produce your own tunes or you can get tunes upfront on CD but otherwise it's hardly worth the expense IMO

See I was planning to buy a CDJ 800 because of the rebate of $100 off of the $549. But I have not seen any real CD releases, so I dont know if I should take the plunge...

personally, a CDJ unit gets its most use from playing promotional material (which isn't really that much, for me at least) and tracks that i produce.
but now a lot of labels are starting to release cd singles in addition to the vinyl releases, and there are some cd packs that put out full versions of tracks (HTID and Decadance).

I get lots of use out of my CD player...... theres more and more CDs being sold by various labels etc, and plus I tend to get promos off various producers either as CDs or mp3s, so they get to be played out.... then I produce my own stuff too, and my fave bit about having a CD deck is the experimental nature.... I can drop acapellas, samples, random tunes from other genres over the top of breakbeats/hardcore tunes etc, and there are some pretty good effects built into my deck too (Numark Axis 8).
Depends if you would use all of those though
