Right, i need everyone to do me a favor, won't take long.
Part of my uni work is that i'm doing a type of thesis on drugs and club culture, and i need to interview people on the topic, but i came up with the amazing idea that i could use the internet.
So if you could leave me some comments on this thread that would be great, i need to know the following:
When you go clubbing do you take drugs, if so what drugs you take, why you take them, how many/how much you take, how they make you feel, during and afterwards, and a general view on drugs and clubbing. If you don't take them, why you don't take them, what you do instead of them, (drink?) and you views on people who take them, and a view on clubbing and drugs in general.
If you used to take them and you stopped, if you could do the same but address the questions in a past tense, and tell me why you don't take them anymore,
This would be really useful, and you will be forever mortalised in a study by the University of Liverpool.

Hello, welcome to the forum! I'll help you out. 
I'm 18, been partying since December of 2003. I don't take any kind of drugs, never have, never will. The reason being, I know the effects of many drugs. And I figure if I really care about my body and mood, I will never start. Since I'm only 18, I don't drink at all. I just go to a party, and have fun listening to the DJ!

Hello, and welcome to HHC.com. I'll help you out with your research seeibng as I know how difficult it can be t get information out of third parties as soon as you mention the word "student" LOL.
Well, I'm 24 and live in NW UK. I've never taken drugs, and don't intend to at any point in the future. As with Comet, I know the dangers that drugs bring along with them. However, if somebody I know does drugs then I'm not abuot to start lecturing them on the dangers of drugs unless they start getting too much into it! (everybody is entitled to their freedom of choice, but I'm not about to stand by and watch a friend ruin his life).
I don't do anything instead of drugs as I have never felt the need for an artificial high, but I did at one point drink quite heavily when I went out.... although I'm drinking alot less now... think I must be getting old!!! I still have as good a time when I go out though, and if the music and the vibe is right then that can create a fantastic buzz in itself without the need for booze/drugs.
My view on clubbing at teh moment is that its great! lol Only let down by a minority of lads (yes, lads... never girls!) who drink way too much and go round thinking they're the biggest baddest mofos on the planet and will generally kick off with anyone and anything that they take a dislike to. Also, this seems to be more of a UK problem, as I have never experienced this in other countries.... other than that the club scene in the uk is great... lots of variety, all tastes catered for!
Views on drugs..... in the current state they're dangerous. Forgetting about moral issues for a minute, there is no way of knowing what you are taking and something needs to be done to sort this out.... I mean, would you accept sweets off a stranger?

I'm 20. Been raving for the last 4 years, funny, i've been takin drugs for about as long. Only really do e's when i go to a rave, love rushin to me disco biscuits. Only ever had a bad one once, was just at a mates house and started goin all paranoid. I normally take about 3-4 a night, have gone to 15 before. If there's nothing to worry ya while your on em, and your mates are with ya, i think they're great. By the end of the night, evryone's loved up and happy. No better feelin than that. Sayion that, the comedown can be f***ing awful. Took me three days to function even 50% once. Pills do f**k you up, i don't doubt it, but some of the feelings i,ve had while off me head were amazing, so i can put up with it. Speed's only good for keepin me awake sometimes, coke is too expensive to rave with, but it's awesome when you get some good stuff. As for anything like trips, they scare the shit out of me, i can control my mind on other things but trips are really weird. If you know your limits and have got someone else there you can rely on to keep an eye on ya, drugs can really lift you, if you don't mind how you feel the day after.
Why oh why can't you just accept it! I'm a raver not a f**king drug addict!

i'm 18, been clubbin since about 15 though thanks to my brother being a dj in half the places i went to  . on average i'll go clubbing about 2 a month coz these days i got far too much work on to be going out every weekend.
i'll take something (only ever E's) on the odd occasion; just to sorta heighten the senses on whats already a really good night. I usually have just the one on the night but have taken 3 in an evenin on a couple of occasions.not something i'd wanna do on a permanent basis coz like the rest of the lot on here, i don't wanna end up a blabbing fool before i hit 30.
they make me feel really good during the evening (depending on the source i have a trusted fellow so i know there's nothin else in it) and the next day i get it of lock jaw, and i've had the odd come down but not to any severe extent yet.

I'm 17, been clubbing since my 13-14.
Took drugs a few yeas ago over a timespan of 2-3 years. Took MDMA, Speed, Ganja, Hasj and probably MDMa-variants like MDE, MDA, ...
Took it when clubbing (the E) cuz the music got more intence (it needed to be, cuz it was all harhouse, trance, ..., no HC), it made me feel energetic, more friendly and conected with ppl.
Took 1 hit when I started first, as I used more often it progressed to 2-3 hits at a time. Took between 1 to 3 hours to wear off. Left me "empty" afterwards, felt disconnected from my surroundings, wanted to be left alone, no apetite, making faces without knowing it sometimes.
Speed got my hyped up and agressive, not that pleasant (but some of my friends seemed to like it a lot). Got my cheeck to lock up at times and a dry mouth all the time (same as the E). Aftermath: uncaring, tired, not hungry for a long time.
Weed got me feeling pleasant, good spirited. Made the music a little better and got me laughing at the stupid jokes my m8s tell me (they where equally stoned). Got hungry a lot, got very lazy even more. Aftermath: Hungry still, no further effects (same goes for the Hasj).
Now I quit drugs cuz they where stirring trouble in my familylife and it was getting risky getting them (few of my m8s got some cops watching them and their surroundings closely). Had to quit to save myself a lot of trouble. Miss it sometimes (a lot).
Now, I occasionally drink too much. Been slowing the pace on that too lately (got me emotionaly f*cked up a few times, not to mension suicidal as a couse of the emotions).
I think drugs are a part of clubculture, but a lot of ppl abuse it. A user is good, can be very fun to be with, an abuser is a pain in the ass, too much gets you very f*cked up. Addicts are a sorry sight. I'll never tell anyone that drugs are wrong, cuz I think they aren't. It's like alcohol, use it right and it'll be fun for eveyone, use it wrongly and you'll get screwed in the head adn don't deserve any more respect.

I'm 19, been partying for over 3 years now, never taken drugs and no plans to in the future, too paranoid about the possible effects on my health. and i don't do anything to take their place, though i don't mind a drink or something while i'm out. I don't mind people who do them as long as they aren't all messed up and sketched out at the party cuz they aren't responsible about it.

Hi dude.... I'll help out.
Im 18 and being raving since i was 12. I use to take ecstacy when i went because it would hype me up and get me dancing but now i dont, I let the drink do that. I did speed for a while and that allowed me to really do things i wouldn't normally but no more. i stoped mostly because of a girl but also because of the damage it was doing to me. I rave even more now but all i use is alcohol. thats more than enough tho sometimes its nice to go a bit further.
My view is that the atmosphere in a rave is one of sheer ecstacy! everyones dancing and getting such a buzz but not everyone does drugs as many people think. It's a good thing on the whole but too many people view it as a bad thing .
I say the best way to find out is get out there and go to a club. experience it on first hand and live it up.
Lives to short to miss out on the good stuff.

just from a logistical perspective, it might be to your advantage to structure your questions and be a little more specific. you're more likely to get thoughtful truthful answers rather than ramblings and casual ones.

I'm 20, been into rave for roughly 10-11 years now...I've never once taken any kind of drug and have never even tasted an alcoholic drink....for the simple reason being the freedom of choice.
I just love the buzz you get when a tune really hits you inside and you go all tingly...no other music can do that.
I know people who are into their drugs in a bigish way, they've been into them long before I met them, but I don't hold anything against them-althogh I think it's wrong- It's each to themselves and everyone can do as they please....as long as they don't try to get me involved.
..just the way I feel.
If someone cameup to me and said __________ , I'd turn around and say _________, then _____________ and after all that, i'd _______, ________ and ___________....to _______ ......

hi I am 23 and have been going to raves/clubs for about 7 years I don't do drugs.
i don't take them because I have seen allot of people ruin their life's with them.
it poisons your body and your mind.
Also they are far more drama than they are worth.
there are just so many cool things in life why would you want to waste your life with drugs.

I aM 21 been partying for about 5 years give or take.I dont use drugs.when I go to a party'rave" I go to see my friends and listen to some hopfully good music.
