well, if you look at it that way - practising with the same set of records can help you get to know the records better - the more you practise with records, no matter what the songs are, the better you get at beatmatching.
each mix from song to song dosnt always have to go the same way, there are a varitety of differnt things you can do whilst mixing. you can always learn a little bit more, or get a little bit better every time you hit the decks

def pratice all the time.. and you'll come up with stuff. Sampling parts in, scratching those cool samples at the end of a measure (Scott Brown's 'now is the time is perfect for this), things like that.
I know I sucked hardcore (ya, that was bad :)) for atleast 1.5-2 years, after that, you start getting better and then you'll be beat matching anything and it starts becoming natural. Listen to lots of other people mix to get ideas and expound upon them. Never stop trying differnt things, you'll never have everything figured out. :)

Practise and listen to other peoples mixes and try to figure out where and what parts they are mixing, where they made mistake and how they corrected them. Once you hear how other DJ's are doing it it can help you when you beat match... it takes time... about 1-2 years before you can do it good... it's like learning an instrument.

as far as im concerned it is an instrument
practice, and record yourself.
then wait 24 hrs and listen to your mix. i bet you will find things to correct and when you mix again it will be in the back of your mind and you wont make the same mistake. just a variation of it

I want decks too, but being 14 I have no income coming in either. I was planning to get a job this summer, but the places I called up said that you have to be 15+ to start working...So Plan B. I'm going to end up asking my parents to buy them for me. They're willing to spend a whole bunch of money on these Art classes that I'm not longer interested in, so why can't they buy decks for me instead? My dad sort of knows I'm interested in getting decks but he doesn't know that I want them, want them. LoL. And my sister has been hinting it to my mother but I doubt she has a clue.

That's why i dont buy decks, i could maby afford decks, but buying vinyl is a bit hard for me coz i spend already so much cash on CD's and DVD's. I once thought i would buy CD decks, but recently ive buyd so many mixed CD's that i couldnt play any "new" stuff.
