im new to hardcore... been into it for 2 years or so . . but alot of that i got into the late 90s stuff simply because i had no idea there was any new stuff (our city = no happyhardcore these days)
umm . .. so yeh .. i liked alot of the stuff in mixes ive heard from about 99, .. last year was great stuff like guardcore, lots of other songs fade was involved in (DJ fade ~ fly with you is another one) . . . .
FADE WHY'D YOU LEAVE *cries*
this year i think freeform has been the go ive been fairly unimpressed with alot of the more cheesy/happy stuff around this year but some of the new blatant beats / next gen stuff is lookin pretty mental!! :D

I don't know about the old days of hardcore, but quite a few DJs have said that they believe Hardcore is bigger now than its ever been

I'd have to agree these years were each VERY big years for hardcore music as a whole.

I'm a bit partial to the 93 sound in addition to those.

i didn't quite like the 94 sound for the most part. There were some good tracks, but most of the innovation went on in 92 and 93, and the vast majority of tracks from 94 were pitched-up piano cheese.
EDIT: Plus that was the year Ratpack did 524202394824504972 remixes of Sweet Harmony. ::shudder::
