hi there,

first of all, im new in here and new in the HH scene :) (and im from germany so my english suxx a bit). but now my question.

cause i'm new in the scene i really dunno about releases of samplers or traxx. i'm listening to HH for several months now but all i know are the commercial (and like i think the best) DJs like Scott Brown, Hixxy, Breeze & Styles. the only sampler i got already is "BONKERS 12". so now i want to ask you whether u can say me where i can find NEWS about upcomming / released traxx of HAPPY HARDCORE / TRANCECORE (like them who are on "bonkers 12". ok ... i know, at this page i can read about upcomming and actual releases, but i dont know much about the scene. i dont know which samplers will be like "BONKERS 12" (i think not all hardcore is the same, and not all hardcore is also HH / TC).

i hope u can understand me, so u can help me a little bit (perhaps names of upcomming samplers, other great DJs in this scene).

THANKS A LOT!!!! (and sorry 4 the nooby question :) )

On this sites news page, you'll hear from the new releases. Also listening the radio, browsing through forums etc helps. This is how i hear about the new stuff.

If you like Bonkers 12, then other CD's that have similar Hardcore are:
Bonkers 9, 10 and 11
Hardcore Til I Die
Hardcore [6CD Box]
Hardcore Tsunami 1 and 2 (The number 2 is released tomorrow :D)
Original Hardcore 3
Next Generation / Blatant Beats - The Collection v.1
Hardcore Heaven - Live at The Sanctuary
Hardcore Heaven - Reloaded
The Ultimate Happy Hardcore Album

I have those all (except Hardcore Tsunami 2, witch isnt released yet) and like them all very much.

If you dont know where to buy these, then i would say www.play.com is the cheapest option.

Please do not post links to, request MP3 files / sites or discuss file swapping programs.
Buy your hardcore and support the scene, overall Hardcore still is a small genre and things like that only makes it smaller.

If you wanna hear clips from tracks or something, just go to any record stores site, they have 1-2 min clips from almoust all tunes. Heres a few links to those record stores:

You don't download - you buy it, anyone that downloads their hardcore is not supporting it - if you love it so much buy it.

I'm not sure I agree with this.

I'd expect this kind of attitude to filesharing from big commercial record labels but I would have expected better from the hardcore community. I don't believe filesharing is bad for the scene at all - if people can download and listen to tracks, then they're discovering new music, and if they really like it, they'll buy the Bonkers CDs, and buy the vinyl if they want to DJ, and most importantly they'll buy tickets to go to the raves. Also consider tunes which you just can't buy - the vinyl has sold out, it's not on any album, etc - what's the harm in getting an mp3?

You don't see producers like Scott Brown threatening to pack it all in because a few people downloaded some mp3s. If it's a good tune the vinyl will SELL OUT, period. Bonkers is selling so well now that they've re-pressed all the old ones. And I will bet that file-sharing played a significant part in bringing at least some of all these newcomers to hardcore - including myself!

:P

Bollocks!

I've managed perfectly well over the past 10 years i've been buying (yes, that's BUYING) Hardcore without the need to steal anything from anybody.

Yes, there might be tracks i want that i can't find at the moment but i will track them down eventually - that's what i enjoy about collecting hardcore.

I don't want to sound like a hypocrite but personally, i don't mind downloading DJ mixes from the net because to me it's different to owning the full tracks (and the quality is not always so good - same with tape packs)

Downloads can be good for the scene in terms of promotion etc but when they're abused by people who have no intention of buying music it becomes a problem. Plenty of Hardcore sites/labels are offering free downloads/samples etc which are fully authorised - use them.

One last point - if artists such as Scott Brown/ the Quosh boys etc weren't concerned about illegal downloading, why are we seeing more and more labels setting up MP3 stores?

Work it out for yourself

i dont wanna download all traxx and samplers 4 free. i also know that the hardcore scene is small, especially in germany, so i am supporting and will support this scene in this country. but like ive said i only want to download SOME traxx, so i know which are good and then which sampler (like bonkers) will be the best to buy. i would never heard of HAPPY HARDCORE if i havn't downloaded traxx of Scott Brown, Brixxy ... etc ... thanks nevertheless

Downloading isn't stealing. If I break into your house and steal your TV, you're one TV poorer. If I download an MP3 off you, you still have the MP3. And you can't equate every download to a lost sale, because it's not.

They're just minor technicalities. By your own logic how is this any less of a "theft" of the music?

Agreed. I'm not advocating mass piracy.

Because people want MP3s and the labels are recognising this. The success of the MP3 stores just proves that people are still perfectly amenable to paying for music and that file-sharing isn't "killing hardcore" or anything else for that matter.

1) i download hardcore cds... . but i always buy the cd if i like it. . the only people who are losing out are the people who's music i dont like!
2) i do download vinyl rips but seeing as i own no turntables/CDJ's i wouldnt be buying the real thing anyway so they haven't lost any sales there either!
3)calling me a moron is perhaps more moronic than anything i said in my post . ..
4) i dont think you should be able to block out links to filesharing programs because they can be used for 100% legitimate purposes and people have a right to know about them

This is not the 60's. The ****ing bytes on the mp3 file are the property of the label and/or the artist. You take that property without their authorization -> you are stealing. If the artist/label would want to give the tunes away for free, they would do so. Your post just proves that you have no respect for the hardcore artists, labels or anyone that is working hard for the scene.

actually i didnt steal their bytes i simply looked at them and arranged some of my bytes in a similar fashion ;) theirs are still sitting wherever they came from...

and if i have noe respect for them then why do i bother shelling out the money for the cds?
(i will add that here buying bonkers is F**KING expensive! 60$australian here per set because hardly anyone in my city buys it so theres only like 2 copies so dont tell me im not paying for it)

That's crap... is a painting just paint? Is a bridge just metal? Everything is made of something... MP3's are made of zero's and ones... don't change a damn thing.

I can't stop people downloading I can only educate them. You do what you want to do, but remember your NOT supporting hardcore and you can't call yourself a fan of it either if your stealing hardcore.
