Newtownabbey Tech!
This is a great topic, I think if we can pull together everyone from across the country to put a great deal of effort into various things we can boost the Hardcore scene in this country, I think because of the size of Ireland, there should be a few groups involved in it, It wouldn't be practical to be organizing nights in Dublin if ur from Portrush!
I've had the record label idea before, to press up small quantities, would be a better idea to have a few labels on the go, Gabber/Speedcore & UKHardcore/Freeform so each label has it's own sound instead of mashing everything onto the one label.
It's somthing I'd like to do, just don't have the funds or resources to pull it off, I suck at producing on my own so would be relying on others to come up with the tunes!
Wouldn't mind working with some people on some UK Hardcore tracks mind ;)

how about setting up our own website for hardcore music in ireland? If this happened dj's and producers could share their material and everyone interested in the scene can chat with each other and help to organise events across the country.
what are peoples views on this idea?

just out of interest, is their good money to be made by producers, or does the record label earn the most when a good track is released?

money money money ..
**** that
its all about the music man
as for hardcore, myself and another dj (JWL) are organizing a nite for the end of january and will hopefully be runing it regularly if we get the interested with an insane door tax of just £2!!!! (btw if you are interested in playing, flyering etc for us email me at tommy_renegade AT hotmail.com and i'll send ya some info :P)
not alot of money to be made but just enuff to cover costs which is the main thing at the end of the day...
as for Bezerker's nite yes i will be in attendence .. be it playing or raving ...
ireland north and south does have a hardcore scene .. someone posted it dead ... its fair from it, in fact hardcore in ireland is back were it belongs .. in the underground :)
as for website, altho its not entirely hardcore related, i managed a few months ago to get the admin to put in a hardcore section into the forum(of which i mod :P) so get on to it at www.irishclubbing.net its a good laff at least hehe
so umm yea ... :)

i know its all about the music mate do you think i would have spent €1500 on my production gear otherwise. I was only wondering because obviously some people are earning enough money from producing that they are earning a living from it.

DJs need to make money so they can keep on djing if they did'nt earn anything they'd have to get a job which would mean less time to make and dj hardcore.
