eh, not trying to stir up more shit, but doin that to the guys forum isnt very nice

he's already -
  • been told off by scott brown big time

  • had an entire thread-over 16 pages devoted completly to tearing him apart on the evo forums

  • been reported to evo and resist (i dont know any further than that)

  • been banned from happyhardcore forums

there are people out there who are reading this post, and that download hardcore mp3's just the same as mole was doing - now..

put yourself in moles shoes - all that stuff done to you because you we're sharing hardcore mp3's and cd's, just think how you would feel?
to have been banned from (the best) hardcore site on the web - have one of your favorite producers and dj's shit on you, and then have 90% of the rest of the webbased hardcore scene shit on you too.

this has been a huge lesson for mole, and i know from talkin to him he feels awful about it, i got the feeling he wanted to turn his back on hardcore last night - which is kinda sad.

so - im not exactly defending him, im just saying, that people should Put themselves in moles shoes, read whats been said about him in all the forums, and then think how you would feel.

take it as a big lesson - dont share hardcore mp3's. (you know what i mean)

its a huge lesson to the rest of us.

If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime. He has got everything he deserves.

I'm sure that alot of murderers are sorry for what they have done, does that mean we have to sympathise with them.

Having just checked the evo forum for the first time since my compiter was re-built (about two weeks) i must say i thought the treatment given to silver by some members was a bit rough, if he had that much stuff avaliable to share the chance that some releases from silvers lables are very high. I know if it was stuff that i was responsible for releasing i would be very pi**ed off.

Yeah, some people were a bit harsh with Silver, but what else could you of done to stop it going on?

I know what you mean. Sued him without talking to him first now that would have been harsh.

Not at all, he should be sued for every track he has done. Piracy is killing the music industry and people like Mole do not give a f**k until they get caught and then the sob story comes.

Wow, you really need to take a serious look at your outlook on life. In case you hadn't noticed, the "music industry" is doing better than ever, and is not being "killed" by anything. Same goes for the hardcore scene, it's bigger than ever before, in spite of filesharing.

First off let me say that I don't advocate doing what Mole did, sharing whole albums like that is not the right thing to do. But, your assertion that "piracy is killing the music industry" is based on utterly flawed logic. First of all you are counting every downloaded track as a lost sale. It isn't. Secondly you're assuming that anyone who downloads music doesn't buy any, or buys less. Also wrong. Here's a scenario which is very common -

Someone is sitting on their favorite p2p program and gets chatting with someone after downloading a couple of tunes off them. They're talking about the music, and the one sharing the files says, hey, if you like that, you might like some hardcore. The downloader goes, yeah ok, let's have a listen, and downloads a couple of tunes, or a couple of mixes and ****ing loves it! So he downloads a few more, then starts searching the web for hardcore, reads up about it, probably even finds his way to this website, and a new hardcore fan is born. That person is very likely to go on to buy CD albums, maybe start DJing and buying vinyl, and going to raves (this is what REALLY supports the scene). This isn't a far fetched scenario either, it happens ALL THE TIME, and if it wasn't for filesharing then that person would never have discovered hardcore, never bought any, never gone to any raves, nothing.

Filesharing helps the scene grow. End of story. This "sue everyone" mentality is extremely short sighted and shows a deep lack of understanding about what this is all really about, and that is MUSIC, not making as much profit as possible.

We've all got a copy or two!!! The diference is we only have 1 or 2 not 1 or 2 gigabytes!!!!! Down loading mp3's for free is going to seriously damage the industry!!! Vinyl is the way foreward still!!! Yes you can get some very nice cd mixers but the very best cd mixers pretend to be a vinyl deck!!!!!! Small local independant record shops rely on the support of the people within the scene both DJ's and enthusiasts!!! even people who want vinyl just to have thier favorite tunes!!! At the end of the day We need to support the scene through the music we buy the events we enjoy and stopping this piracy that threatens the scene we love and adore!!!!!

Hydrox has got it spot on. many times friends have sent me mp3's of tunes they think i'd like and if i dont like it i never listen to it again, but more often than not i go on a mission to find the vinyl and put money back into the scene. i couldnt do this if i'd never heard a rare spanish/italian track for example and even some releases from over here have slipped by without me ever hearing it. It's one more type of exposure for hardcore and hardcore is very underexposed in most areas of media and although i no it's a dj's job to search and search and grasp knowledge of all releases old and new, but some people dont have hours upon hours of spare time to do that. also as hydro said it's not lost sales because most the people that download maliciously would never pay for music as it's not as important to them as people like us and they dont see it as worth spending money on. was very stupid what mole done and i think he now no's that now and common sense does come into the matter i.e couple of tunes acceptable not album upon album. Theres my 2 pence on the whole filesharing issue anyway and i do think it's a good topic to discuss as there's definitely pros and cons and in some ways i dont no which one outweighs the other.

Venga familia!!!

Good point Hydrox I had a few hardcore tunes dowloaded which were from the Bonkers albums so I then went out and bought the whole lot. Also I first got into hardcore 5 years ago by lending mates tapes and copying them and now I have spent over a grand on hardcore (tapes, cds, vinyl etc.)
