I think it's pretty shitty paying to go on a course to learn to DJ.

What ever happened to putting hard work in & learning for yourself.

It aint rocket science.

I actually watched them for the first time last night. I think i would have got more benefit from them if i had watched them 2 or 3 months ago.

yeah, you don't need to pay money to learn how to play the decks - my little brother has a set (he's into his hip-hop tho, not the hardcore) and he has a few hard-house records - I had a go at mixing them and even after few tries I was able to line up the records. It just needs practice and a bit of creative thinking (like bringing the next record in at right time to get a nice sounding mix or pairing records that sound good together/go well into one another)

I hate to say it but mixing dance records isn't rocket science - the real skill is in scratching. What seperates good DJs from shit ones is track selection and, as I said, a bit of creative thinking in their mixes (at least thats what I think anyway).

save your money to buy your decks =P

and mixing is actually somewhat difficult. anyone can beatmatch, it's puting a set together as a whole that makes a good dj.

scratching isn't that difficult either. all you have to do is put forth the effort to learn...and have money for your new expensive hobby =P

I think a really good dj can pick the right kind of tunes to blend together and not just be able to mix perfectly. Getting the right type of songs in a set is an art imo.

playing out to a crowd is a massive buzz big time. Though if you havent even started Djing yet dont even think about it for like another 2 years or so. Though it all depends on how quickly you pick it up

yeah...one of my best mates has taught himself and he can quite easily stand his own in a club full of older djs even tho hes only 17...u wouldnt know it from his mixes and his tracks...i definatly agree that the tracks make the set...we went to a local rave n there wer 3 quite well known local djs and my friend...he kicked all there asses,he had at least 3/4 of the club up constantly throughout his set simply cos he was banging out tne after tune mixing classic with newer stuf and packin in the anthems....after his set 40% of the crowd left!hes never bin taught proffesionally...jus worked hard!

so jus sayin practise... listen to loadsa varyin stuff...go 2 gigs and use ur imagination....jus picture urself bhind the deks at slamin n ul never giv up lol

good luck!

rave safe x
