the nu donkey kong game, yeah. It's another one of those games you gotta play with your m8s when you're all hammered or stoned, playing bongo's to the tune on the screen

Well 99 red balloons is not orginally a hardcore song it's like an 80's track.

I've only played the Japanese version and that was a while ago (and the songlist was awful).

It's pretty fun, but you soon realise that clapping is impossible when playing the harder songs and you always end up cheating by tapping the side of the drum, which registers as a clap.

If you want music games, try beatmania IIDX over this.

I was thinking about getting this when it comes out. But.. not sure. I don't even know the american songlist. I absolutely love Beatmania IIDX and would give anything for a Japanese PS2 in order to play them. As of now, I just go to the arcade to play. But I love it still.

I think it's worth getting your PS2 chipped for IIDX. 7th style CS is absolutely fantastic and 8th style is coming out pretty soon too.

I personally think all the control's since beatmania 1 have looked stupid
might as well play it with your controller.
cant tell me that "special" control looks anything like keyboard keys and a vinyl plate

Well, I ended up bying it. The american songlist sucks.. a lot.. but the game is still really fun. Even better with more players. I just wish we had some of the europe songs. A lot of the ones on here are not even fun to play.

I would love to get my PS2 chipped, but I've heard of so many people screwing up their systems because of it. People always say, "Oh yeah. You don't have to worry about it messing up." but I do. :P

And your right to this generation of consoles have been built in a way that makes them alot harder to chip and alot of chiped consoles **** ^.

Also quite a few PS2's break and you wouldn't be able to send it back once it's chipped so is it worth it!!!?

Think I might have to buy DK wasn't sure about it at first but alot of people have said how good it is.

PS2s are pretty easy to chip (but it's now illegal to do it in the UK) and i've never had problems with mine.

Back on topic, looking at the UK songlist, I think I'll probably pick up a copy at some point, hopefully some friends will have it first so i can try the new songs before i atually buy it myself.
