wow - I guess this shows that what people hear first generally sets the standard of their oppinions. Heard Bonkers 1 first and think that one is far better than any other, so the same goes for me probably!

As for 6, I remember being soooo dissapointed when it came out because Hixxy and Sharkey weren't on it. React Used to send out Fliers before the release of each new Bonkers, but they didn't do that for B6 - so the first time I saw it was in the shop. I was seriously gutted! And the feeling didn't get much better when I heard it. I think of 6 as the worst of the older ones (Vibes mix is poor, bar one or two tracks, and Sy's mix could've been a lot better...Dougals was only average), simply because Hixxy and Sharkey weren't there.

I wouldn't say 6 is as bad as the newer ones tho. I try hard to like Hixxy's change to the uplifting, trancy sound but it was exactly that style that I used to dislike years ago (in the old bonkers era). I got a shock when I heard the change!

It was the Intelligence Records Tapes that got me into Hardcore....Dj's like Tizer, Binman, Paddy Frazer...and when hearing a Bonkers CD for the first time...I was disapointed!!! Didn't like it that much at all...think it was 5 and 6 I heard first...8 was the first I bought...mainly 'cos hardcore was getting harder to buy in shops.....

Which reminds me.....why were tunes like "Discoland", "Angels", "Wonderful Days" never on any of the Bonkers CD's?

Human beings, vegetables, or comic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible player.

Who discovered we could get milk from cows, and what did he THINK he was doing at the time?

^ ^ ^ my guess is...

the DJs on Bonkers hardly ever changed and they (esp Hixxy and Dougal) tended to play their own tunes and stuff off their own record labels. For this reason a lot of other, great tunes got missed out.

just my guess tho, I'm not sure if thats the real reason
