Few people i attend class really thought it was a joke for a while, then after hearing some mixes they really understood that were not nerds, it is good quality music.

ack!! NO NO NO!!
I think it's pretty damn awesome that hardcore isn't mainstream music. It's underground and unknown, but not SO unknown that it's obscure. Just think-- if hardcore was EVERYWHERE... there would be a new type of gangsta'. I wouldn't want it to take over, like hip hop and rap. I think it's great that we are who we are... hardcore should stay hardcore. Those who want to know about it, learn about it, and those with closed minds better come with closed mouths.
Those who even think of dissing our name are nowhere NEAR open or deep enough to understand our music. They don't deserve to listen, in my opinion. Pop in some Good Charlotte and watch them join the mainstream. I don't want hardcore to be like that... there will be a new definition of "prep"... and all the skaters will become ravers... AGGHHH
I CANNOT BEAR THE THOUGHT

I agree with everything you just said there.
I used to love trance. I still do (the older stuff) but it's now mainstream. People actually know what it is. I loved when people had no clue what this "trance" stuff was. That is proof right there that hardcore CANNOT become mainstream in USA. UK mainstream is fine. But once something becomes mainstream here, it's totally f*cked. It get's obsessed over and turned into a fad and then soon passes and it's not COOL anymore. So.. americans.. let's keep this genre out of harms way.. underground is the way to go.

To all you fools who like hardcore because its underground and not mainstream....God thats so stupid! First of all what happened to the music? Music doesn't start suckin when it becomes popular. Music starts sucking when they sell out and change their style. I think it would be awsome if more people liked hardcore, then they would realize what they've been missing.

I've recently posted a similare comment to this on a dif chat, There will always be an underground scene, i think a comercial side will attract the chavs and townies out of our raves.instead of coming to our raves tey'll stay to the more comercially cushioned events the music at those events will change slightly and the scene will be different just as comercial house nights and underground house nights are different. it's all a muchness really

I think hardcore is becoming more mainstream allready. Heres why:
1. In the past when i've looked for h-core in HMV they have never had any, but i went in last week and they had Quosh, Evolution, Essential Platinum, Blatant Beats, and tonnes of Next Generation. Maybe the new distributor is spreading them to mainstream shops....
2. I was comin home this morning after a rough night on Friday (some one got stabbed to death in Town) and i was walking past Topshop and Breeze & Styles - Heartbeats was blaring out and not the commercial one either it was the h-core one.
Role on the hardcorevolution!!!
