Ive bin wondering for a while...how important are drugs to hardcore?Is it the same without it?Does everyone do them...how does it affect the night ect...Wondering cos im the only 1 out of my mates that doesnt do anythin (and that isnt gonna change)but id just like to understand things from ther point of view a bit better...get some other opinions!!(and ways of stayin awake!)

i don't take any drugs, or drink.
not all people that listen to hardcore do drugs.
it's just fine without it. :)

i do a bit of this an that but i could do a night without it, i jus have more fun when i do it, not really into that whole "straight edge" thingy, but i guess ppl gotta go with what suits

Doin drugs is a phase most people go through (usually), if you don't pass through the phase they destroy your life (seen it happen), but without drugs there would be no hardcore, and yes, raves are a completely different experience when your off your face, and a lot more enjoyable, but still a great experience without....................
It's funny, 10 years ago I would have said yeah take drugs there great, but think growing up's sneaked up on me somewhere...............

i occaisonaly do pills, sometimes acid (my drug of choice right now) sometimes pot, oil, hash ect.
and i might try somethin else sometime too!
they help me dance to hardcore all night without gettin tired

I don't need anything artificial to enjoy myself when i'm at an event - never have.
Unfortunately, drugs and raving will forever be associated - another one of those stereotypes we have to put up with.
True, plenty of people seem to think they won't have a good night without drugs. Trouble is, i've seen plenty of people that end up not being able to enjoy ANYTHING without taking them.
A lot of my old regular raving pals (going back up to 15 years here) are not the people they used to be - and you'd be a fool to suggest that years of doing class A's hasn't contributed.
People are always going to take drugs for recreational purposes (and i don't want to take away anybody's right to do what they want) but sooner or later it'll catch up with a lot of them.
