i had my 18th birthday party on saturday night, and towards the end when everyone was off their faces my m8 suggested i put sum hardcore on. i thought hang on, 175+bpm, they'll hate it! BOY was i wrong!! i put on the brilliant 'white widow' by ponder & HB and everyone went fcukin mental!!! all my m8s loved it and raved to all the new tunes like 'rock that body' by plus system (dat was a BIG fave!)
i reckon that hardcore has loooads of potential among 17-21 yr olds, coz it has loadsa energy, like ppl do after havin so many drinks, and face it, NO-ONE wants to listen to r'n'b all night! i think that if hardcore got more airtime on bigger stations (incl radio 1) my age group would lap it up ;-)

I really doubt hardcore will be played much on the radio now, with the very very sad passing of John "Legend" Peel.

Eumovater,

Not usually being one to cuss a persons mates, I will this time...

Maybe your mates are just the common mindless drone type - the type that feels the need to fit in with others. They have an average car, average house, average dress sense, average musical tastes etc (or if not when they can, they will have).

Most people will enjoy something different, but society is driving them so hard to fit and and just be accepted by others, they've never had the time to stop and consider something a bit different, like hardcore.

I find people of all ages can appreicate hardcore.

"Rock that body" is a top choon btw!

psh there no age group to like it.

me and my friends r 14 and we like hardcore.

as for hardcore potential. i rlly hope so. it would great to talk to everyone about the new hixxy mix or scott brown. who nos maybe it will be like that sum day. one by one my friends have started enjoying hardcore.

when i tell ppl i like techno they say OOO lemme hear!!
thats a good sign.

maybe if there is a big enuff wave of hardcore then their will be a radio station sum day.

well im 17 n i love it...my dads 44 n he loves it...so age doesnt matter i dont think....i mean a friend of rs puts on hardcore nights n ther is always about 22 16-25 yr olds ther more at the latter if that age group...i just dont understnad y it cant b put into the mainstream when things like bonkers 13can b such a success...jsut outside the top 5 in all music shops...and it does my head in that people tht havent experienced it dont really get a chance too..i mean i hated it at first as i hate all dance type music but hardcore is different it has a different energy...but i dont think ppl r gettin the chance to experience it...xjust a little girls opinion of course...x

why would u all want mass appeal of hardcore that would suck! would u want mtv to be playing it all the time and everyone jumping on the bandwagon.

the genre would be completely exploited just like hip hop was in america. u would see scott brown on t mobil comercials and a new dj popping up every week.

that would be completely aweful. thats the last thing i hope ever happens.
