I was listening to an old tape yesterday, recoreded live @ Bagleys (Sept 1996) with Dj Spinback and Mc Ruff on it. MC Ruff was the best Happy Hardcore MC to hit the scene I reckon. Shame that he died.

I remember him from his real early Prodigy dayz and i am fotunate enougth to have 3 videos of him in action.
He is now truly in hardcore heaven.

yeah i think so. i heard rumours that he smoked too much crack.

Not sure...Vinylgroover told me he died of a heart attack, he was a big guy.

I think he died of a heart attack brought on by smoking too many drugs.

I was told by more than one person that he died from a heart attack which was a secondary effect of a cocaine overdose. Not knowing him personally whos to say what happend, but as u said he was a big bloke and if he was doin crack and suffered heart problems it would be bad.

Was mc ruff the big white guy with a boldish head? Quiet a big guy if its teh oen im thinkin of if it is i got a video of him at hysteria 11:) N he tryin to break dance is quite cool btu yes wikkid mc her dhiim on sum of my old tapes too RIP, what about stevie hyper d..RIP dat man too

yea, he was good. i have free Dream CD with Spinback and Ruff. i saw them both live together too, at the second Hulla party. thats where i got the CD. i love giveaways.
i heard it was some rare thing where your heart stops suddenly and not many ppl have it. that sounds like a cover for a drug overdose anyway though.

I don't want to have a go at anyone but before you cast aspersions on somebody's death I think you should remember that for the people who loved and knew Jim it is still very raw. It's very hurtful that you can make these very ill-informed comments about his death. I understand there are alot of rumours but they are untrue. He was 26 years old when he died of a HEART ATTACK on the 4th July 1998. I will post a picture for you once I have one uploaded as I noticed some of you wondered what he looked like.

Sara is right how dare you come on here and speak of my friend the way you do, he never to my knowledge smoked crack.
I believe in free speech and all that, but just what gives you the right to spurt (in my opion nasty rumours) about obviously things you have no idea about.
I can only speak for myself; I personally will never get over Jims death so it would please me greatly if you didn’t write such rubbish here anymore.
It is easy to tell you are pig ignorant twats who have no feelings for any of the people he left behind, least of all his son Jessie.
Jim was taken on July 4th 1998, I shall go on
I first met Jim around 95 through Dream fm all nighters
In short its true Jim died of a heart attack; a post mortem returned confirmed the verdict, Jim had an all too common heart problem that could have been treated if he had a scan.
Sudden death syndrome is the official name and I did a little work with the charity C.R.Y (CARDIAC RISK IN THE YOUNG) after his death.

Jim did not die of an overdose or any other drug related issue and to my knowledge and never smoked crack.
I shall never forget the night I phoned Jim up and was told of his death on the pervious night; we were due to go to hardcore heaven together on the day I found out. It’s a great shame as he always wanted to MC and he finally managed to get booked and put on the flyer following an impromptu performance at the previous event, sadly he never got the whole deal.
It came as a great shock and caused me to drop out of the raving thing; I still dabble a little every now and then, but more then than now!
I hope this clears up the rumours around Jim death, may he rest in peace and I hope his son Jessie lives a full and long life
Rest in peace Jim I and your other friends will never forget you.

This topic is 2 and a half years old mind!
A death no matter how it comes about is always tragic, and obviously no one wants loved ones talked about in "rumour" fashion. (especially when they have passed on to a better place)
I'm sure that anyone who posted in this topic would apologise and give there sincerist regrets, and sympathy to those who are/have been offended by the comments made.
Ruff was a great MC and obviously a GREAT guy, and a HUGE loss to ALL who knew him as a person, and as a wicked mc.
