People who think current Hardcore is the best don't know what real Hardcore is all about. Anything made in 1988 isn't what we could consider (even early) Hardcore. It probably just has the word Hardcore in the name which dosn't mean anything :P
totally agree with you on that one.

DJ Mouse In Da House!!!
I have Time and Perfect Dreams (Several different versions of each actually, including the originals of each) ;-)
My most treasured vinyl is Baby D Let me be Your Fantasy original 1992 pressing.
Dunno what's considered my rarest, have a number of promos, and limited pressings. I have Jimmy J and Cru-l-T's Runaway, and I wanna be Forever (AKA forever young), both limited to 1000 pressings I believe, or was it 500?
I also have Donna Grassie I believe limited to 500 pressings. I have the original pressing of Super sharp shooter by Zinc, that I believe was then deleted. But I didn't struggle to get any of these. I have many more records that I found more difficult to come by.
their all limited to 500 not 100 just so uno.

Someone talking sense at last. What is Revs on about how no-one likes old hardcore???? Does he actually think hardcore is bigger now that it used to be?
It's definately more commercial, but the scene was much bigger and stronger back in the day.
I don't think anyone can make a viable comment about this subject unless you have been around for both. I have, and I stand by my comment and agree with Hard2Get. I may even go as far to say that some might not consider the new stuff Hardcore anymore. A lot should be called Harder-Faster Trance ;-)
defo man, even tho hardcore is commercial now it was much bigger back in the day & yep hardcore aint hardcore anymore it is indeed just speeded up trance.

You just sounded like one of the dutch gabbers who post comments like "this is not real hardcore this is shit!! ANGERFIIIISSST FTW WAHHHRRGRHVJHBV!Jbovnwölkjhnrga.gijbdfkjb!!!!!!!" on Darwin's tracks on YouTube
as i said before the scene in the 80s was alot bigger then today, when now do you get a rave with 100,000 people ? you dont.

Cheers for that. My living situation is a bit complicated at the mo and I don't have my vinyl at hand. Roll on October when we move house :-)
By the way I said 1000, not 100 ;-)

We're not talking about the 90s, but about 1988, just for your info (maybe you could read ?). And sorry but I don't see many people listening to Hardcore from the 90s. I bet you don't even like the 120 BPM ;-)
And if everyone would have liked it, it wouldn't have changed.. take a track from 1988 and take one from 1992, you'll see the difference. It has completely changed... but WHY !?!??!?!? I thought everyone loved it Oo

your argument has no logic to it, the same could be said about the whole dance music (& other styles) scene. musik chances, splits, evolves etc which doesnt mean that a style is not popular anymore it just means that it changed. i listen to dance music from 1986 onwards so trying to guess that i dont like it is daft as you clearly have no idea what people like or dont like.

lol what planet are you from ? how do you know what people listen to ? i for one stopped listening to hardcore in 99 (although i still listen to upfront gabba) so yes people do still listen to hardcore from the 90s. also people still listen to house musik from the 80s so again your argument has no logic to it what so ever.

Oops I ment 80s. Sorry, the 8 is just beside the 9 …
And nobody talks about House music. We talk about HARDCORE from the EIGHTIES. Get it ? Okay if so, tell me your top 100 Hardcore tunes from before 1990 ! You surely have enough of them since it's been so popular :)

Ok I am starting to get the impression you don't know what you're talking about. The progression and change within music is nothing to do with how popular it is, it is purely evolution. People are constantly wanting to push the boundaries and introduce new sounds. Without change music would get stale. And that goes across the board with music, whether it be dance music, rock music or jazz. Next you'll be saying that The Beatles weren't popular because their style of music changed many times since the 60's :-/
In 10 years time will you be saying that no-one likes hardcore from 2008-9 because the style has completely changed?
And I like hardcore from the 80's and 90's, and have many vinyl at around 120bpm. I would love it if hardcore went back to 120-135 bpm :-)
