Hello everyone,
It's been an awful long time since I posted on here, but there's an issue that annoying me a fair bit, and this may sound more like a rant than the beginning of discussion, and non-British members will find it even more confusing as it features the infamous 'Chav' word but here goes.
On Chavscum ( www.chavscum.co.uk the once quite funny light hearted satirical site, that is now full of as one comically described them 'crazy rockers') I have had to leap to the defence (Under the 'Kable' alias) of Ravenation (www.ravernation.moonfruit.com) - a group young hardcore fanatics and DJ Rankin (www.djrankin.co.uk features a link to HH.com - maybe a member? If you are out there I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter) an up and coming DJ and producer from Glasgow who have been unfairly criticised for their appearance and their love of Hardcore music.
Fair enough, the taste in modified cars is not my cup of tea, not that of quite a few, but who can deny that these are creative people doing what they choose to do - The ambition of nearly everyone!
I think it is disgusting that who considered themselves to be individuals, direct abuse at a scene that is slightly tongue in cheek, full of hard-working highly devoted fanatics, and what also happens to be an amazing scene that turns a blind eye to what other people think!
Has anyone on this site, suffered any unfair Hardcore music related criticism based upon the Chav stereotype?

Where i live if you say you're into hardcore people asume you are a chav, but to be honest i couldnt care less, ide much sooner be a chav than be sad enough to devote my time posting on chavscum.co.uk.
I have been on there before, i seriously find it hard to believe that the members can sit there and manage to find ways to slag off 'chavs' over and over again and fail to realise what idiots they are. Fair enough people bitch and moan about chavs and usually with good reason, but when you are a regualr on the chavscum forums you have to come to the conclusion that you are probably sadder than they are.
I don't appreciate the stereotype, but i don't bother arguing with people about it ide rather sit back and laugh at the ineducated morons who will probably buy a bonkers CD as soon as hardcore becomes popular enough.
sorry about the counter-rant, but i hate this subject with a passion!

I always used to get the piss takin about being a chav whenever I told people I listen to HH. Admitelly it used to really get on my tits, we were constantly getting into scraps with goths over it . (Quite good fun actually) It doesen't bother me now though, I just put on my best superior smile and think of the most recent party I was at, that always cheers me up, and i forget the little people in this world

are u defending dj rankin???or did i read it wrong???
go to ush.net and then ull c the reason we all think dj rankin is a prik.
all over the internet and p2p networks there are tunes titled with the artist dj rankin.but if u listen to the tunes there all scott browns wrk or various other peoples.with shit scratching and retard vocals over them.
now u can call it bootlegging yes but fuk me there aint nothing creative about that........shit he cumz up with.
dnt get me wrong im all for new talent creativity but taking credit for other peeps wrk nicking logos and having peeps saying that he takes scotts shit wrk and makes it good now that pisses me off. go to ush.net if u wanna argue coz i dnt wanna spam these usually wkd and happy hardcore forums.
theres plenty of us on ush who can giv u an argument

1) It pisses me off when people say hardcore is charv music.
2) It pisses me off when people say I am a charv coz i listen to hardcore.
3) I hate charvs with a passion (i've explained this before, but i mean proper charvs. The ones that will glass a 14 year old lad for wearing a quiksliver t shirt, not the ones that THINK they are hard coz they wear burberry but never actually do owt wrong except from being thick as a whale omlette because to me, they arent proper charvs)
4) DJ Rankin is an arsewipe.

People who tag hardcore to chavs really are thick. Granted some chavs like hardcore but in my experience hardcore and it's spin offs unifies more people than any other music genre. It has a wide appeal.
There are quite a few people who you could call toffs who really like this music too!
Quite frankly sad people who spend their time on chavscum and view anything other than rock / traditional as for chavs I pity those fools.

Really mj-dream? I haven't been ush.net for ages either (damn my uni accomodation's lack of net access), but if that's the case then I may very well eat my words. I thought the beats sounded well made yet somehow, arranged in a not so perfectly edited way you could only believe it was a bedroom producer. It's proof that I haven't bought a Scott Brown record in ages too, I think he (SB) stuck to the same formula for a bit, but people love that formula for very good reason, and I've got a soft spot for the 'All about you' track on Bonkers 12, next time I get my student loan or a job, I should get it even though it ain't what I'd usually buy.
But heh, I've had a few goes at making the odd track using a arrangement of sampled breaks on cool edit (not really for production/writing I know, don't complain) non-copyrighted ones mostly though, although I had a go a both a drum 'n' bass bootleg of Robert Miles - Children, and a non vocal hardcore bootleg of Usher - Yeah, (secret shame! but it's a catchy electro break though, admit it!) which both ****ed up on me, but even they got completed I don't think I'd have the cheek to post them anywhere, they were made for fun, not to impress.

Nah, Dnb has a bit of something for everyone, but I suppose with jump-up stuff you might have a valid point, but the Liquid DnB scene certainly appears to have no thuggery about it whatsoever. I guess up north DnB tends to attracts more skaterish people than it does W***a type Chavs. (Am I allowed to say that word, or will I recieve the Ron Atkinson treatment? The whole white pretending to be black thing is a delicate issue so no more need be said there.)
There's probably regional Chav variations out there, but Chavs and Hardcore up north is obviously a common association that is wrong.

hey...well, i love hardcore but wouldnt be seen dead in burberry, dont own anything with a sportsmake and not even a pair of trainers!!so i dont fit into the 'stereotype' however i dont care if some poeple are the complete opposite!i jus love the hardcore....the only time iv seen any twattish people at a rave was at rb1:the birth when sum guy got thrownout and the whole arena booed him...
what im tryint to say is th majority who are INTO hardcore are so open minded and arent bothered if the ravers are goths townies skaters hippies or whatever but if there is any shit they take huge offense and wont stand for it...and the few times iv seen shit caused was by guys head to toe in sportswear, caps high on there heads, blinged up with boyed up cars, so i can see where the sterotype comes from....
hope that made sense??? x

2:an eminem accapella!! wooooow!!! (also acceptable...(sosumi - feel the tribute)
2:a shit robot voice hing to say ur name at the start of every record....just so that everyone is clear that you obviously created the record...rather the producer who worked his tits off on it
