people with ordinary dial-up have to wait ages for the page to load (imagine everyone had a moving sigiature). It irritates a lot of people as well as they prefer to look at plain text.

Because it takes space on the forums, eventhough it has nothing to do with the topics. It makes the forum harder to read, takes longer to load pages and are just generally pointless. So, please remove it.
