(this is a crazy rant im useless at putting my thoughts into sentances so hold tight)
MY grandad is safe as houses he always listens to hardcore never complains even if its not his favourite. But my great grandad (my grandads dad for you foriegners) is well funny when it comes to music and heres why:
He thinks the entire tune is "a man standing there playing a keyboard"
Whenever i mention it he starts having a go at me about how i know nothing about music.
He goes on about how us "young people" know nothing about music he rants on about how when people play musical instruments you feel them playing it but i wish he would shut up because he dosent know what hes on about hes a derranged old man.
Have you ever tried to make electronic music? I have and its HARD TRUST ME even people who know how to use the software and equipment still take years before they can make a phat tune.
Why cant old people just accept that electronic music is still music?
I prefer the synthesized sound of a computer note over a guitar any day my mind explores tunes as i listen to them there's an infinate amount of layers to an electronic tune and thats how i like it. Why does everyone think its a phase? what are they on about?

before anyone starts having a go at me for saying my great grandad is a derranged old man id like to say he is definatley a derranged old man he thinks he flew a spitfire in the first world war even though he was only 13 when it ended lol PEACE

Haha ur grandpa listens to hardcore:P my grandparent would never do that hehe:P young ppl know nothin about music lol right..... They cant accept becouse its wierd and strange for them

As far as older people go, their idea of dance still involves real instruments. Personally I'd rather shoot myself than dance to a load of guitars/saxophones/trumpets etc!
They can be very set in their ways at the best of times, and this is a classic example of young vs. old and how times have changed and we're going to be having similar arguments with our own grandchildren in many moons to come so let it go. Your great-grandad isn't a derranged old man at all - to him electronica is still fairly new relatively speaking. Just keep pumping out the tunes and he'll accept the fact that we've all moved on sooner or later.
And on the flip side, I clearly remember two old ladies sitting outside my old office in a Renault Clio listening to drum n bass fairly loudly so work that one out!

my definition of music would be any collection of sounds/noises that people find enjoyable to listen to, but hey that`s just me!
old people can`t keep up with modern life or maybe they just don`want to, but it can be frustrating when they refuse to except that what you are telling them is the truth.
