I just bought a pair to replace my MDR-V700's because they BROKE like the little whore's they are. Anyway, I now have some shitty American Audio HP 700's, and they actually have OK sound :D 100$ with 3 year warranty from Guitar Center

It really depends on how much you're ready to put into them headphones.
What I just saw, the Sony MDRV500 costs £49 (~73€).
Im really pleased with my headphones (Sennheiser HD497, might look horrible but the sound is really clear)
I don't think they would suit you (if you DJ that is).
Mine costed about 80€, and are worth it.

i have sony mdr-v700's. I'm on my second pair actually. I've had them for a few years and I won't use anything else. technics and pioneer have some out at the same quality level. but untill they stop making the v700's, they will be my choice hands down.

I have Technics RP DJ1200 Headphones IMO they are perfect no distortion at all even when turned right up. i've had them for 3 years next month and they are as perfect as the day I got them!
There are quite a few good pairs of head phones out there and everyone seems to have there own preference so if you can get a chance try a few different pairs out. It's always worth getting yourself a decent pair if you get a cheep pair they will break easier and they will definately not do for playing out at a loud venue.

sennheiser hd-25's is what i use. great clear sound on all frequencies. they're really good for production aswell. they're don't look all that but that's because all the quality has gone into the sound not the look.
