I'm currently making a Hardcore Website. Tips? I use photoshop to design and slice my layouts, but then I whip out notepad, and do the coding by hand. Sure there are easier ways, but sometimes they just don't look as nice, and don't have cool features.
I can't really help you, I'm really busy with other sites, but if you don't know anything about html, I suggest you try to atleast understand the concept of it, learn basic tags, and get hooked up with a good free host.
If you don't have patience to do that, lol, go the easy way and find a host that has something like a sitebuilder.

Tips:
Dreamweaver and Photoshop are a killer combination. However, if cash is an issue, try Photoshop LE and do the coding by hand using "Textpad".... or even cheaper for graphics use "The Gimp".
For layouts use either tables with "border="0"" or use CSS for layouts. I used to use tables, but recently I've shifted over to CSS as its more flexible.
NO ANIMATIONS!!!!!
Avoid popups if you can.... sure its cool to make a pop up from your site, but its not cool to use a pop up.
Choose your colour scheme before you start. Pick 4-5 colours (not necessarily actual colours, they could be shades of colours) and stick to them through the site.
Did I mention you should learn HTML? Its worth its weight in gold!

hey, cheers for the help!
i have photoshop7 and dreamweaver mx already. that's what i was using to do my last site but i never finished it. i may go back to that and use that one. i don't understand html really, i just look at what other people have and try to adjust it to my own, learn from other peoples sort of thing.
i will keep trying. i have a freewebs page but they're tacky, i'm gona use the freewebs space to host the site tho i expect for the time being.

Im willing 2 make a layout for ppl for free it means the graphic and not HTML and text just gimme a sketch what you want

if you are after something basic go on www.freewebs.com and you can design your own website from theirs, you can have pools on it, counters and 7 pages, check out mine www.freewebs.com/jonot this should give you an idea on what they are like.
