Not that keen on hardstyle by itself but get some of the italian stuff pitched up to 45 and whack it over makina is tremendous sometimes sounds as if it was meant to be that way.

I think the reason people make the connection between hardstyle and gabba as a lot of the same producers make both.

To me gabba will always be a big part of hardcore cos i think the buzz it gives you plus the quality of people who attend gabba events are second to none so i definitely prefer it, but i wouldnt call hardstyle retarded jus gotta find stuff that works for you.

Venga familia!!!

If you ask me hardstyle is more similar to hard trance being what gabba is to hardcore.

u don't see the similarity cuz u haven't heard a "johnny" (sorta like a chav) driving his seat ibiza down ur street and u heard a tune blasting through it's speakers that sounds like one of your fave tunes from back in the days but sounding like it's playing at half speed with it's bass f*cked beyong belief. It pisses me off to hear the razzle dazzle trax tune in hardstyle, same with the killing scum synths.
u'd understand if u had my experience.

I like gabber way much better than "hardstyle". There is some gabber that is very fast and hasa awesome heavier 4/4 bassline. There is some happy gabber tracks that i like.

A bunch of pubescent Chavs are standing on a street corner thinking they're hard.
A gang of Skinheads turn up. They're harder.
A chapter of real Hell's Angels pull up. Woops, now they really are Harder.
Finally a few Royal Marines jump out of an army truck.....

It's all relative......

Hardstyle aint in the same league as Gabba.

No Contest.

i personally prefer hardstyle. gabber is a bit in yer face. obviously when ur at a night out it's good after a build up of tunes but i could go to my decks first thing and mix up some gabber whereas hardstyle i could play anywhen and anywhere! i liked hardstyle before gabber and don't really know much about gabber but i'm starting to get into it so maybe my views will change
