I'd say gabber because alot of the hardstyle is either too slow or just not up to the standards i expect from a good track i like some japanese hardstlye fair enough but nothing can compare to the rush i get from gabber or hardcore (the heavier hardcore not upfront although i do get rush from upfront not the point though) so for me it has to be gabber.

even if they do rip samples from old gabba tunes I still dont see the link other than the really hard italian stuff and that it just dont seem similar to me. You cant really knock any dance music for sampling as it goes on in all dance music.
u don't see the similarity cuz u haven't heard a "johnny" (sorta like a chav) driving his seat ibiza down ur street and u heard a tune blasting through it's speakers that sounds like one of your fave tunes from back in the days but sounding like it's playing at half speed with it's bass f*cked beyong belief. It pisses me off to hear the razzle dazzle trax tune in hardstyle, same with the killing scum synths. u'd understand if u had my experience.
!GABBER 4 LIFE!
That’s fair enough I guess the hardstyle scene over there must be very different to what it is over hear its very underground over hear rarely being played anywhere but free party's and is seen as something that has no connection with gabba.
Still my opinions not changed I still like it and IMO tracks like Hardstyle & Acid are amazing and I enjoy listening to it as much as I do gabba the only thing I dislike about it is it's repetitiveness allot of tracks do sound too similar.

Yes, a very famous DJ Pavo quote, hehe.
I like the speed of Gabba and you usually find a lot of great samples in Gabba/Hardcore. I like the bouncyness/dark synths used in most Hardstyle tracks, i've loved Hardstyle since it came about around 1998-2000

It's got nothing to do with that really, Hardstyle does have influences of Gabba/Hardcore but it really came about due to the sound of Hard Trance and European Hard House, it's not really about being the hardest, most of the tracks have a totally different sound altogether, so I definitely wouldn't call it weak.

the origin might be different but if you take into account the amount of material stolen from 90's gabber tracks you could sort of consider it a little bastards brother of gabber

I'm raw to the floor cause i love my hardcore.
You know the score and what i'm waiting for. Yeah bro it's banging hardcore!!
I like both but normally I listen to stuff like this instead (this mix probably a mixture of swedish techno and birmingham techno)...

1992-1997 Gabber pisses all over Hardstyle just like Hard House pisses all over UK Hardcore or 'sped up EDM with Dupstep and Trap influences' as it is now known
