I'm serious! Look up Gammer in a dictionary.
I've copied this from dictionary.com:
2 entries found for gammer.
gam·mer ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gmr)
n. Chiefly British
An elderly woman.
Obviously our gammer ain't an old woman! (now that would be an interesting thought )
Now before anyone tears into me, I'm not slurring Gammer at all - I came across a post like this on USH. If I remember rightly it's all due to a typo on a flyer or something and Gammer stuck with it. I think it's a quality name!

And i'd emphasis that it's terrifically important
what you do with your arms, dont let them flop
by your sides, it looks awful. You could put
them on your hips or if you prefer...
put them up in the air!

Tell me about it - I was expecting to read something about our Dougal only to find cake Mmmmmmm.
As for the Gammer thing, yeh that's my fault! I figured that seeing as this looked to me like a name/word association thing........
